There will be daily fantasy sports action set for Saturday July 11th as UFC 189 will take place from the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas Nevada. Headlining the card for UFC draft managers to consider will be the interim Featherweight title match between Chad Mendes and Connor McGregor. Mendes is replacing Jose Aldo as the Brazilian was forced to be scratched from the card due to injury.

The main card will get underway at 10PM Eastern Time over PPV. FOX Sports 1 at 8PM Eastern Time has the prelims televised over national television. Early prelims go off at 7PM Eastern Time on UFC Fight Pass.

UFC fantasy players can select from 22 fighters from the 11 fights scheduled.

Chad Mendes vs. Conor McGregor: Both fighters enter UFC 189 with identical 17-2 records. McGregor wins his matches with no doubt as he has scored 88% of his wins by way of knockout.

McGregor is the busier fighter landing nearly six strikes per minute. Mendes has 47% of his wins by decision and 41% came via knockout. McGregor from Ireland is well rounded as he has a very good 83% takedown accuracy. He is looking to extend a 13 fight win streak. At UFC Fight Night on January 18th 2015 it was McGregor defeating Dennis Silver by TKO.

Mendes, the 30 year old American, losses came against Jose Aldo by decision. He bounced back from his latest defeat to Aldo on October 25th of 2014 by defeating Ricardo Lamas on April 4th 2015 at UFC Fight Night by way of TKO in the first round.

Robbie Lawler vs. Rory MacDonald: The champion Robbie Lawler puts up his Welterweight Title against the number two contender Rory MacDonald.

Lawler is 25-10 with 76% of his wins coming by knockout. Only 4% of his wins came via submission. Lawler has a three fight win streak as he comes off a split decision victory against Johny Hendricks on December 6th 2014 at UFC 181. He revenged a defeat to Hendricks from March 15th 2014. The Canadian MacDonald is 18-2 with 39% of his wins coming via knockout. The sheet looks pretty balanced for MacDonald with 33% submission victories and 28% via decision. MacDonald has won three fights in a row since a defeat to Robbie Lawler at UFC 167 on November 16th 2013 via split decision.

Dennis Bermudez vs. Jeremy Stephens: Both enter at 145 pounds. Bermudez is 15-4 with 47% of his wins awarded by decision. Good defender who avoids takedowns at a high percentage. Stephens is 23-11 with 70% of his wins by knockout.

Gunnar Nelson vs. Brandon Thatch: Both fighters have good records. Nelson is 13-1-1 while Thatch enters at 11-2 in the 175 pound category. Nelson is the more accurate puncher at 55% accuracy. 73% of Thatch’s victories have come by knockout.

Brad Pickett vs. Thomas Almeida: Almeida brings in an undefeated 19-0 record into this contest at 135 lbs. A very busy fighter with nearly 8 strikes per minute landed. He has 74% of his wins by knockout. Pickett is 25-10 and has recorded 40% of his wins by submission.

Matt Brown vs. Tim Means: Brown is 21-13 and the #5 ranked fighter in the 170 pound category. 62% of his wins came by knockout with 29% by submission. Means is 24-6-1 and has recorded 67% of his victories by knockout.

Mike Swick vs. Alex Garcia: This fight is in the 170lb category. Swick is 15-5 lifetime. Garcia is 12-2 with 42% of his wins coming by knockout and submission.

Cathal Pendred vs. John Howard: Cathal Pendred from Ireland is 17-3-1. 59% of his wins went to the judges score cards via decision. Howard enters UFC 189 with a mark of 22-11. His victories came by knockout 41% of the time with 27% of the time by submission.
