Latest

Olivier Vernon has signed a record breaking 5-year $85 million deal with the New York Giants($52.2M guaranteed). They have now signed Vernon, Jason Pierre-Paul, Damon Harrison, and Janoris Jenkins to improve their defense.

Bears sign T Bobby Massie to a 3-year contract. He comes from the Arizona Cardinals.

RT Mitchell Schwartz is leaving the Browns for the Chiefs.

Matt Forte will be dawning green next season, as he signs with the New York Jets to fill their need at RB.

Mohammed Sanu is off to Atlanta…to at least visit. Rumour is he will sign a 5-year $35M deal with the Falcons. They also locked up Matt Schaub to backup Matt Ryan.

Houston was just involved in a trio of moves, gaining two and losing one. The biggest of all..former Denver Broncos QB Brock Osweiler signs a 4-year deal worth $72 million.

Former Texan gaurd Brandon Brooks will head to Philly on 5-year $40M deal.

Another RB off the market, Lamar Miller will wear a Texans jersey next season, and the next 3 after that. Miller signs a 4-year deal worth $26M with Houston ($14M guaranteed at signing)

DL Damon “Snacks” Harrison will be playing in the same stadium next year but switching jerseys. The former Jet will be joining the NY Giants.

The Buccaneers will be retaining their star RB as Doug Martin will be staying in Tampa Bay on a 5 year contract worth $35.75M. Slightly more than Chris Ivory’s with the Jaguars.

The Falcons have finally landed one of their many targets as Alex Mack will be joining his former OC Kyle Shanahan in Atlanta on a 5-year deal worth $9.5M annually. The first two years are said to be fully guaranteed for the 30 year old 3x Pro-Bowl center.

WR Marvin Jones will do his best to replace Calvin Johnson’s production as the former Bengal will be signing with the Detroit Lions.

Antonio Gates has re-upped in San Diego on a 2-year deal. This should bring the legendary TE to his last playing days with the only team he’s ever played for. This probably means Ladarius Green is as good as gone.

Former 49er Alex Boone will be leaving San Francisco for the Vikings. The guard was heavily pursued by the Dolphins.

Travis Benjamin is going to be wearing a Chargers jersey next season, as the speedy former Browns breakout WR will sign in San Diego. Last year he tied for the league lead with 4 TD catches over 30+yards.

Janoris Jenkins is now the 7th highest paid CB in the league, and second only in guaranteed money to Darrelle Revis. He will be signing a 5 year pact with the New York Giants worth $62.5M ($29M/guaranteed).

Bengals hard-hitting safety George Iloka will be remaining in Cincy. It looks like a 5-year deal worth $30M. Word is he passed up more money elsewhere to remain in Cincinnati.

Chris Ivory landed in Jacksonville. Word is it’s a 5-year $32.5 million deal.

Another pass-rusher off the market. Bruce Irvin is heading to Oakland to join and the Raiders.

Ben Jones, the versatile interior lineman has signed with the Titans. A smart addition given the DeMarco Murray acquisition.

JPP will stay in New York on a 1-year deal.

Charles Johnson re-ups in Carolina.

Ben Watson to the Ravens on a 2-year contract.

Malik Jackson broke the bank by signing with the Jaguars. Huge money for a DL. 6 years, $90 million.

Mario Williams started the day off by making headlines when he signed in Miami on a two-year deal for $17 Million (up to $20M). The Dolphins are preparing to lose star rusher Olivier Vernon.

Baltimore Ravens versus Cleveland Browns Monday Night Football Fantasy Picks 11-30-2015

The AFC North division will be showcased on Monday Night Football as the Cleveland Browns will be hosting the Baltimore Ravens. DFS GMs can tune to ESPN TV on November 30th at 8:30PM Eastern Time to track the results of their one day league fantasy rosters.

These two division rivals had their first meeting back on October 11th and it was the Cleveland Browns earning the 33-30 victory on the road in overtime. It was a strong offensive performance by the Browns who produced 505 yards of offense. The run game only produced 83 yards on 25 carries so the Cleveland damage was done through the air. Veteran Josh McCown completed 36 of his 51 throws in the game for 457 yards with two touchdowns. With Johnny Manziel being demoted to the third string it will be Josh McCown getting the start on Monday night football in this game. Baltimore has success on the ground in defeat as they ran for 181 yards. Problem is Justin Forsett is out for the season now due to injury and he piled up 121 rushing yards and a touchdown in that meeting with Cleveland on October 11th. Joe Flacco threw for 210 yards and a touchdown but bad news for the Ravens last week as Flacco was lost to the season to a knee injury in their win against the St Louis Rams.

It has been a bad season for the Ravens. They enter Monday Night Football with a record of 3-7 and are 1-4 on the road. The team got off to a 0-3 start and was 1-6 after seven weeks of the season. Ravens have had a difficult time defending the pass this year as they surrender 257 yards through the air per game ranking 24th in the NFL. Opponents score 25 points per game on the Baltimore defense which ranks 23 in the league.

It is another bad season for the Cleveland Browns. The club is a disappointing 2-8 and is 1-3 on their home turf. Even with this poor record the Las Vegas oddsmakers have still listed the team as a -3 ½ point favorite for this game. The Browns have struggled on both sides of the football. They are 27th in total offense by gaining 335 yards per game. They run poorly for just 75 yards per game which is 31st and second to last in the NFL which contributes to 18.6 points per game average ranking 28th in the league. The Brown defense has digressed from previous seasons. They are 30th in both total and scoring defense by surrendering 407 yards and 27.7 points per game. Cleveland allows 27.7 points per game which is 30th and third to last in the NFL.  With games held in Cleveland in late November the weather could be a big factor for fantasy football draft managers. There is rain in the forecast after midnight but the temperatures will be OK at 44 degrees.

Cleveland Browns QB:

Josh McCown

McCown appears to be the best option at quarterback as the present time for the Browns. On the year he is completing 65% of his throws for 1897 yards with 11 touchdowns and four picks. The one thing Cleveland does is pass the football as they are 11th in the NFL in passing offense.

Cleveland Browns RB:

Isaiah Crowell

The Browns run terribly. Crowell has the most carries for the team in 2015 with 107 for 328 yards and a touchdown. He rushes for just 3.1 yards a carry.

Cleveland Browns WR:

Travis Benjamin

The four year veteran has caught 48 passes for 736 yards with four touchdowns. He averages 15.3 yards a catch.

Baltimore Ravens QB:

Matt Schaub

The veteran takes over for an ailing Joe Flacco. Schaub has seen no action in 2015. Last year with the Raiders he lost his starting job in preseason and was a backup to Derek Carr and passed for only 57 yards.

Baltimore Ravens RB:

Javorius Allen

Rookie Javorius Allen takes over for an injured Justin Forsett. He rushes against the worst team against the run on Monday.

Baltimore Ravens WR:

Kamar Allen

With Steve Smith Sr. injured Allen is the leader of the activated wide outs with 37 catches for 456 yards and three touchdowns.

Cleveland Browns versus Cincinnati Bengals Thursday Night Football Fantasy Picks 11-5-2015

Thursday night football will feature two rivals from the AFC North as the Cincinnati Bengals will be home to meet the Cleveland Browns. DFS draft managers can tune to CBS TV on November 5th at 8:30PM Eastern Time from Cincinnati to track the scoring results of their fantasy football one day draft picks.

These two teams have split their two divisional meetings over the past five years. Cincinnati should be motivated in this spot because Cleveland went into Cincinnati last year and beat the Bengals 24-3. The Bengals are an undefeated football team entering Thursday night football with a record of 7-0. They come off a huge game at division rival Pittsburgh where they came away with the 16-10 victory that allowed the Bengals go up four games in the loss column over second place Pittsburgh in the AFC North division. The issue facing the Bengals is that if they are to earn a first round bye in the playoffs they will need to finish ahead of either New England or Denver but each of those teams are undefeated as well. Cincinnati has repeatedly said that post season success is a must this year so there is plenty to play for in this spot for the Bengals to bring focus. The team is solid on both sides of the football as they average 28.3 points a game good for third best in the league and they are seventh in the NFL in scoring defense by allowing 18.9 points to their opponents.

The Cleveland Browns continues their struggle as a franchise. The club is 2-6 and looks like their losses in 2015 may end in double digits. They are 1-3 on the road this year. The team has lost three straight after a 34-20 home defeat last week to the Arizona Cardinals. The Browns defense was carved up by the Arizona dynamic passing game as Carson Palmer threw for 374 yards and four touchdowns. This is something that has to concern Cleveland in this spot as Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton has just as many weapons in his disposal to exploit their defense plus Cincinnati has a better downhill running game. Another issue for Cleveland in this spot is their starting quarterback Josh McCown will miss the game due to injury and it will be second year signal caller Johnny Manziel getting the start. The Browns have been poor on both sides. They are 30th and third last in the NFL in total defense as their opponents put up 405 yards per game. Cleveland is 32nd and last in the league in run defense. Over on offense the Browns average 20.9 points a game which is 25th ranking and in the lower third of the NFL.

Cincinnati Bengals QB:

Andy Dalton

The veteran quarterback for Cincinnati is completing 66.2% of his throws for 1992 yards with 15 touchdowns and 4 picks. He had his worst game of the year last week in the win at Pittsburgh with 60% passing for 231 yards with a touchdown and two picks with a QB rating of 64.7.

Cincinnati Bengals RB:

Giovani Bernard

Bernard has been the most efficient back in the backfield for the Bengals with 78 carries for 439 yards with two touchdowns. He is rushing for 5.6 yards a carry.

Cincinnati Bengals WR:

A.J. Green

The leading wide out for the Bengals has caught 46 balls for 649 yards and four touchdowns. Green is averaging 14.1 yards per reception.

Cleveland Browns QB:

Johnny Manziel

Manziel has seen action in four games with one start. He has completed 56% of his throws on the campaign for 393 yards with three touchdowns and a pick. He started in week two at home to Tennessee where he completed 53.3% of his throws for 172 yards with two touchdowns and no picks in a 28-14 win.

Cleveland Browns RB:

Isaiah Crowell

The Browns 28 year old running back has 91 carries on the year for 295 yards with a touchdown. He is running for just 3.2 yards a carry. Crowell has ten receptions out of the backfield for 134 yards and a touchdown.

Cleveland Browns WR:

Travis Benjamin

Benjamin has grabbed 38 passes for 601 yards with four touchdowns. He is averaging 15.8 yards a catch on the year.

Fantasy Football Best Picks – Week 3

It’s the 3rd weekend of one week fantasy football and injuries already making waves in the league. It doesn’t get easier in Dallas. After losing Dez Bryant on week one, they lose their quarterback Tony Romo on week two. The Dallas Cowboys will try to stay undefeated without those players in the lineup. They will face the Atlanta Falcons who are also 2-0. The other teams who will try to keep their record clean this week are the Cincinnati Bengals, the Carolina Panthers, the New York Jets, the Arizona Cardinals, the Denver Broncos, the Green Bay Packers, and the Super Bowl champs, New England Patriots. Now, it’s time for some fantasy football hot picks:

QB Peyton Manning – Denver Broncos

Season: 431 PassYDs, 3 TDs, 74.2 QBRate, 2 INTs

He got off to a great start this year against Kansas City, but then hit a wall in the home opener facing the Ravens (even though the Broncos won). Manning knows how to regroup and has one of the best pre-game preparation in the NFL. He also has an elite group of receivers with him. It’s no doubt that he will have a great game against the struggling Detroit Lions.

RB Alfred Morris & RB Matt Jones – Washington Redskins

Morris’ Season:  193 TotalYDs, 0 TD, 4.2 AVGRush/Jones’ Season: 174 TotalYDs, 2 TDs, 6 AVGRush, 1 FL

It’s normal that if you can’t have an efficient quarterback, you at least need a good running game. That’s what’s happening in Washington. They are using a combo of running backs to elevate their chances to win. Alfred Morris and Matt Jones will continue to share time and fantasy value against the New York Giants.

WR/PR Travis Benjamin – Cleveland Browns

Season: 368 TotalYDs, 4 TDs, 6 Receptions

The AFC Special Teams Player of the Week number 2 will face off against the worst defense in the league, the Oakland Raiders. He was able to return a punt for a touchdown last week. Be ready to see Benjamin all over the field on Sunday.

WR Demaryius Thomas – Denver Broncos

Season: 182 YDs, 2 TDs, 7 Receptions

Thomas will be the number one option in offense for Manning this weekend, especially against a team that is really struggling against the pass this season.

WR/PR Jarvis Landry – Miami Dolphins

Season: 282 TotalYDs, 1 TD, 16 Reception

He has shown how exceptional he can be against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week. Now, it’s time for another round against divisional foes, the Buffalo Bills. The 22 year-old will be one of the top receivers at the end of the season.

WR/PR Emmanuel Sanders – Denver Broncos

Season: 172 TotalYDs, 2 TDs, 16 Receptions

He and Manning have developed a good chemistry. Manning relies on Sanders for the big plays week in and week out. Look for him to get back into a touchdown rhythm, after getting shunned by Baltimore last week.

TE Owen Daniels – Denver Broncos

Season: 24 YDs, 5 Receptions

It’s no secret that Denver offensive coach Gary Kubiak loves his tight ends. That was shown in week one against the Kansas City Chiefs, as Owen Daniels gained 19 yards in 3 receptions. Let see what Daniels can do against an underachieving defense like Detroit’s. I believe good things will happen for him.

D Denver Broncos

Season: 18.5 Pts/G, 243.5 YDs/G, 7 Sacks, 3 FF, 4 INTs, 2 TDs Returns

If it wasn’t enough to pick the Broncos to annihilate the Lions defense, here it is: I choose Denver’s D do the same thing with Detroit’s offense. The Lions are going to have a hard time holding the Broncos in every aspects of the game. Stafford is still bothered by injury and whether he is back or not, they will rely in a rookie running back (Ameer Abdullah) and an aging receiver (Calvin Johnson) for offense. That is not good enough to succeed against one of the best defense in the league.
