The Suns bested the New Orleans Pelicans by 21 pts on Saturday,  121-100 on Saturday night. Phoenix was paced by 2 surprise players off the bench, Ronnie Price and Mirza Teletovic, adding up 24 and 22 points respectively. Devin Booker added 16 pts, 5 assists, 4 boards and a block. Tyson Chandler added 13 pts, 5 boards, 3 blocks and an assist. His front court teammate Alex Len added 10 pts and 11 boards in a brilliant double double performance. He also included 2 steals in that performance helping the 4th place in the Pacific Division, Suns cap off their 2nd win a row, right after snapping a 7 games losing that ended last week.

Sacramento Kings pulled off an upset huge win against the Oklahoma City Thunder on their final home game Saturday night. The Kings, powered by Darren Collison’s 27 pts, 8 assists, 5 boards and a steal. The veteran guard started the game replacing Rajon Rondo. Rondo’s resting and is officially shut down for the rest of the season. Rudy Gay was next up with 24 pts, 8 boards, 3 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks in a monstrous performance. His 2 free throws in the closing seconds of the game helped sealed the win. DeMarcus Cousins was quiet. also sank two key free throws in the closing seconds to seal the victory. DeMarcus Cousins had a quiet night by his standards, supplying 15 points, seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block. Seth Curry paced the bench with 20 points, three assists and two rebounds.

The Kings will remain in 3rd place in the Western Conference’s Pacific Division despite the victory and have lost 3 of their last 5 as well as 3 of their last 4. They’ve also won 2 of 3 meetings against the Suns this season.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Sacramento Kings

Andrew Wiggins’ Timberwolves, back from their biggest victory of the year will travel West to face the host Sacramento Kings at Sleep Train Arena this Thursday.  This NBA Fantasy Basketball prediction is brought you by FanPicks.com. NBA Fantasy Basketball Prediction

Sacramento is really on a up and down hill all year having not been capable to get 2 straight wins in a month span now. It’s to understand where the team is headed. Their leader DeMarcus Cousins has been relegated to playing only in home games in one of the strangest developments this season. That strange development is really what makes the organization so dysfunctional and unpredictable. Their real issue is their defense as they’re dead last in points allowed per game nearly this whole campaign. For them, this is a winnable game but the T-Wolves have shown what their enormous potential can do to big teams 2 days ago when they upset the Warriors in Oakland.

Minnesota have lost 3 of their last 3 games but come into this game off their biggest win of the season. Not only they defeated the reigning NBA champions, Golden State Warriors on the road and were a 15-point easy underdog, but have really shown what their potential talent is all about.  With youngsters on their squad like Andrew Wiggins, Karl-Anthony Towns, Shabazz Muhammad and Zach LaVine, the sky is limit for their future. A great sign as well is that all of their young guns made big contributions in the win against the Warriors. They simply showed the NBA just how fearful this team will be in the years to come, as well as a danger for the Sacramento Kings.

Sacramento Kings vs New York Knicks

Fantasy NBA Basketball Preview

Carmelo Anthony’s New York Knicks will be hosting the Sacramento Kings at the Madison Square Garden Sunday night, in a battle of two struggling teams having terrible second half of seasons. Fantasy NBA Basketball

New York is having a nightmare 2nd half of season and are bound to finish their 3rd straight losing season. Their star Carmelo Anthony is performing but without any help of his teammates. Earlier in the season, rookie Kristaps Porzingis seemed to be a rising star with unexpected high level performances. Unfortunately for the Knicks, it seems like he’s hit a wall. Porzingis averages over the last eleven games 12.9 pts with almost 5 boards and 1 block a game. For a rookie, those are pretty good numbers but clearly not enough for him and Anthony to carry the team through the season, furthermore the playoffs. New York absolutely needs to solidify their roster in the offseason to avoid another season like this one. The Knicks are ranking 25th in points scored and assists in the NBA. They’re coming back from a tough loss last night against the Washington Wizards, their 20th loss in the past 26 games. They unfortunately blew an 18 pt lead unable to be consistent throughout the game. The Knicks are 7-8 on 2nd half of back to back games.

Sacramento have won only twice in their last 13 games. The situation is critical in Sacramento as this dysfunctional season turned into a tough one to digest because of its 2nd half. The cold truth about the Kings’ team is that their defense is simply unable to keep up with their offense. The contrast is simply huge when you think they’re ranked 30th in the league in pts allowed. Then, you have on the other side, its offense led by DeMarcus Cousins whose numbers this year have been MVP class. On top of that, Rajon Rondo leads the NBA in assists. They’re slight favourites in this game and will hope to close out their season in decent fashion.

These are the projections for those premium players, salaries over $7000 but consistent performances that can be relied on. Demarcus Cousins leads the list by over 5 fantasy points as he has continued his huge season with a 30+ fantasy point performance last night. However, you can go a little cheaper at the premium spot with Rajon Rondo, who led the league with 33 fantasy points last night, or Paul and Jordan who have been putting up big numbers to fill that gap of no Blake Griffin in the lineup.

Premium picks are reliable but also come with high ownership percentages and when if come to Daily Fantasy NBA Cash Drafts, low ownership picks are key. When you need to save a little cash look for these picks to fill those positions. When you can get a starting center like Jokic or Lopez for such a cheap price he is bound to put up decent numbers just from the minutes on the court alone. Turner and Thomas as well have been very hot lately and their salaries have not yet completely adjusted for their big performances.

One of the most important factors however is the pace of the matchup, which can be generally defined by two numbers. Over Under and Spread. Over Under is the total number of projected points that will be scored by the 2 teams in the matchup and the spread is the projected win margin, negative meaning the home team is favored. The best matchup is one with a high Over Under and a low spread, meaning it is competitive and fast paced, the best situation for a lot of fantasy points to be found.

Looking at these matchups, the key two are clearly Portland @ Houston and Oklahoma City @ Golden State. Both those matchups look to be higher scoring than the rest, so favor those players just a little bit extra when making your picks.

Golden State Warriors vs. Sacramento Kings

The Golden State Warriors (34-2) will play the Sacramento Kings (15-21) at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, CA on Saturday.. Starting Lineup Golden State just keeps chugging along and winning games. Most recently, they scored 128 points en route to another dominating win over the Portland Trail Blazers. Klay Thompson and Steph Curry combined for 62 points while Draymond Green recorded yet another triple-double. That’s been the recipe all season and it’s nearly impossible to beat this team at full force. What’s scary about this particular matchup is the Kings defense against the Warriors offense. Not only does Sacramento play some of the worst defense in the NBA, they also play at an incredibly high pace. That opens the door for a huge game from the Warriors and it would be no surprise to see them drop 120-plus points once again.

Things are finally looking up for Sacramento right now and they find themselves in the playoff run out of nowhere. They only sit half a game out of the eight-seed in the west and much of that can be attributed to their home court success. The Kings are 10-9 at Sleep Train Arena, opposed to a 5-16 record on the road. Sacramento also comes into this game winning three of their last four, with the one loss coming in heartbreaking fashion. They held a seven-point lead with under two minutes left in that loss to the Dallas Mavericks and ended up losing in double-overtime. The reason for the recenr success has been DeMarcus Cousins. Boogie Cousins is currently averaging 30 points, 13.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.2 blocks per game over his last five games. Those are MVP type numbers and fans have to be encouraged that the team is finally winning with Cousins playing at an elite level. Look for this game to be more competitive than the average fan would anticipate, as the Warriors come in as just six-point favorites.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Sacramento Kings

The Los Angeles Lakers (8-28) will be hosted by the Sacramento Kings (14-21) at the Sleep Train Arena on Thursday evening. Fantasy basketball The Lakers come into this game in their best stretch of the season, despite getting blown out in their most recent game. They had won three-straight before losing by 21 points to the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday. They had to play that game without Kobe Bryant and D’Angelo Russell, so the loss was almost expected as 15-point underdogs. Both ends of the floor have been an issue this season though and while most people would say their defense has been the problem, it’s more of an offensive issue. They now rank 28th in scoring and are one of the least efficient offenses in the NBA. Their defense isn’t much better though, as they rank 27th in points allowed. The owner was quoted saying that this season is about Kobe and that seems evident considering they are one of the worst teams in the NBA.

The Kings are finally playing some good basketball right now and they should have had a win in their most recent game. They held a seven-point lead with just over a minute left against the Dallas Mavericks and choked it away in double-overtime. DeMarcus Cousins has been on a absolute tear this week though, as he has 68 points and 36 rebounds in just two games played. Rajon Rondo missed the last game with a back issue, but is expected to return here in a fantastic matchup. The offense has been on point lately for Sacramento and they should have no problem going off again here against a terrible Lakers defense. In fact, look for the Kings to come into this matchup as a projected double-digit favorite for one of the first times this season.

Kings versus Mavericks

The Sacramento Kings (14-20) will take on the Dallas Mavericks (19-15) at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas on Tuesday evening. Dominate your competitions with our free to use RotoPicker tool, create the winning fantasy NBA contest lineups for Fanpicks.com
Fantasy basketballThe Kings have been a frustrating team this year, but have been playing better ball as of late. They have now won seven of their last 12 games and are coming off their best two-game stretch of the season. On Saturday, they scored a season-high 142 points against the Phoenix Suns and on Monday they beat the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road. Rajon Rondo had a combined 34 assists in those two games and continues to dazzle as one of the elite point guards in the NBA. This marks their third game in four days, so it should be interesting to see how they perform against a veteran team like the Mavericks.

Dallas is one of the most disciplined teams in the NBA and much of that has to be credited to their veteran leadership. They rank fourth in the NBA in turnovers and rarely allow the other team to get points off those few turnovers. Dallas does come into this game in the midst of a modest two-game losing streak, albeit against two talented teams. The surprise for this team has been the play of Zaza Pachulia, who ranks in the top-six in double-doubles this season. Look for the Mavericks to put together an efficient offensive performance here against one of the worst defenses in the NBA. In fact, they come into this game as a projected seven-point favorite.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are averaging 108.7 points on 47.6 percent shooting and allowing 100.2 points on 43.1 percent shooting. Kevin Durant is averaging 26.6 points and 7.4 rebounds while Russell Westbrook is averaging 25.6 points and 9.3 assists. Serge Ibaka is grabbing 6.8 rebounds and Dion Waiters is dishing 1.9 assists. The Thunder are allowing 35.4 percent shooting from deep and are forcing 13.4 turnovers per game. The Oklahoma City Thunder have won 10 of their last 11 home games.

The Kings are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Monday games. The Thunder are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Monday games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games. The Kings are 5-2-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings in Oklahoma City.

The Thunder are starting to roll right now and have been playing lights out ball on their home court. The Kings continue to struggle on the road and don’t play enough defense to hang with OKC at home.

SF: Rudy Gay
PF: Omri Casspi
C: DeMarcus Cousins

Oklahoma City Thunder

NBA Fantasy Basketball Draft News 10-22-2015

Sacramento’s Offense Great for DFS Leagues but Their Play on Defense May Not Contribute to Enough Wins in the Western Conference.

Sacramento Kings concluded play in the 2014-15 campaign with a record of 29-53. They were the thirteenth seed in the Western conference and trailed the eighth seeded New Orleans Pelicans by 16 games for the final playoff spot. This is a franchise that has been in the lottery several years but still can’t develop talent good enough to compete for a playoff spot out west. For several years the Kings were an awful defensive squad. They looked to change the culture of their team by hiring Mike Malone as coach. This news early in the season of his firing came as a shock to many pundits because they saw Malone as the right fit for the team to build up the young talent and teach them to defend properly in the NBA. But a new and in-experienced owner Vivek Ranadive had no patience to let the coach and team mature together and sought immediate change. Management is looking back to the days when the Kings ran and outscored their opponents during their playoff years. It takes time for the chemistry to build and management is looking for immediate success on the court which may not be realistic. With Malone fired the team went back to their poor defensive ways of the past and finished 28th in scoring defense by allowing 105 points a game and 24th in defensive field goal defense by allowing 45.6% shooting per game. George Karl begins his first full season with the Kings. He previously held the head coaching job at Denver and led his club to consistent playoff appearances but not success once in the postseason. Karl’s teams ran in Denver because of the high altitude advantage and were a very good home team. His teams struggled with his system on the road. The Kings drafted sixth in the draft and took Willie Cauley-Stein from Kentucky. One of the risks of drafting a player from Kentucky nowadays is seeing how they adjust to the added minutes in the NBA. Cauley-Stein only played 24 minutes a game in college because of the depth in the program. One of his huge strengths is he is regarded as a rim protector on defense.

Sacramento Kings PG:

Rajon Rondo

A nine year veteran out of Kentucky will be surrounded by many Wildcats on this Kings roster. He has been injured the past few seasons and played in 68 games last year averaging 9 points, 8 assists and 42.5% shooting in nearly 30 minutes played per game. A plus for Rondo is he will be playing for George Karl who has great experience in dealing with loose cannons if you can remember back to his days coaching the Milwaukee Bucks where he had success.

Sacramento Kings SG:

Ben McLemore

McLemore will be entering his third year and is a 2013 first round pick by the team. He has been very reliable to have not missed a game in his career. He averaged 12 points and shot 43.7% from the floor with 35.8% from three. Hard to recommend for one day DFS leagues because the Kings have many ways to score.

Sacramento Kings SF:

Rudy Gay

The nine year pro resembles one of those shooters Karl had in Milwaukee who wanted the ball and didn’t like to pass. But Karl has shown to turn selfish players into team players. Gay played 36 minutes last year and shot 45% with 18 points per game average. The nine year veteran will like playing for Karl because he lets his scorers score and that puts smiles on fantasy basketball league owners.

Sacramento Kings PF:

DeMarcus Cousins

The toughest challenge for George Karl is to keep DeMarcus Cousins happy. Cousins didn’t like the coaching change because his system focuses more offensively with perimeter players. What Cousins may lose in points he may pick up in rebounds, block shots, put-backs, assists and energy to use on the defensive end of the court.

Sacramento Kings C:

Kosta Koufos

It’s hard to believe the seven foot center has logged in already seven seasons in the NBA. He has averaged 15 minutes per game and strictly will be used for defense and rebounding. Koufos will not average many shots per game and is not considered for daily fantasy rosters.
