Paul George puts 2014 behind him.
Indiana’s forward Paul George found his U.S. National teammates in preparation to the 2016 Rio Olympics without any apprehension, he assured Tuesday. He is two year’s removed from a serious injury that took him out prior to the 2014 FIBA World Cup. He fell awkwardly on his foot while fouling James Harding during a scrimmage at practice in Las Vegas. The team ended up winning the tournament without him. Despite all of that, he’s ready to put it all behind him and give it is all for the Gold. George will finally get the chance to play for his nation, something he is most proud of.
Team USA is currently preparing for Rio in Las Vegas. For George, coming back to train where he got hurt isn’t a problem. He knows that injuries can happen anywhere, anytime to anyone. The injury caused him to miss almost all of the 2014-15 NBA season. He since found his stride scoring a career-best 23.1 points per regular season game. Under his drive, the Pacers made it to the 2016 playoffs. The got bumped early though losing in the first round against the Toronto Raptors.
Head Coach Mike Krzyzewski will lead his third Olympic squad. Under his tutelage, team USA has yet to lose a game since the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Since that time the teams hold a record of 34-0, which includes two Olympics games and two FIBA world cup.
Team USA will be represented once again by an elite squad of NBA players despite some bowing out due to the unsafe nature of Brazil. They are still favorite to land the coveted gold medal. The Golden State Warriors will have three representative at the games, with shooting guard Klay Thompson, power forward Draymond Green and newly acquired small forward Kevin Durant. The team will also rely on guards Kyrie Irving, Jimmy Butler, DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry, forwards Paul George, Harrison Barnes, and Carmelo Anthony, and centers DeMarcus Cousins and DeAndre Jordan.

The Raptors have been disappointing this 1st round of playoffs and come in this game pumped, hoping to snap their first round series losing streak. They’re on verge of getting knocked out for the 4th straight time in the first round of NBA playoffs basketball, and it would be such of shame after this record winning regular season and talented squad’s efforts. Unfortunately for the Raptors, their two top players DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry are struggling at the worst potential time. Even though they’ve received some extra surprising efforts from Bismack Biyombo who’s 8 or more boards per game in 4 straight contests could help their resurgence. Defense has been a key indicator in every wins in this series, as the winning team has always scored at least 100 Pts. The Raptors are favorite in this one statically speaking and on paper, however we’ve seen them have ridiculous issues in previous Game 7 matchups.
Indiana has really surprised everyone and rocked the odds in this series. They took care of business on home court and have been playing exceptionally well in defense. A matter fact, they were able to hold Toronto to only 37% shooting from the field and a mere 39 pts in last game’s 2nd half. All of their starters were in double digit scoring figures in their win. Paul George’s playoff comeback has been very effective and his peers Monta Ellis, Myles Turner and George Hill have all stepped up in their nothing to lose approach to the game.
NBA Fantasy Basketball Playoffs – Indiana Pacers versus Toronto Raptors Game 2
NBA fantasy basketball playoffs are in full swing and FanPicks has every up-to-date news and daily picks all the way to the finals, so join here to participate in the biggest contest in sports. The first of three games tonight pits the Pacers against the Raptors. Indiana will look to take a 2-0 lead on the road versus Toronto in their Eastern Conference first-round playoff series at Air Canada Centre.
The Pacers hope to follow on their impressive 100-90 Game 1 victory with another one before the series heads to Indiana. Paul George provided a game-high 33 points (12-22 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 5-6 FT) while adding six assists, four rebounds, four steals and two blocks in 38 minutes. Monta Ellis also contributed with 15 points (5-12 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five assists, three rebounds and three steals in 29 minutes. The Pacers were 11 for 21 in three-point attempts on Saturday, after going just 16 of 55 in their last two regular season games with the Raptors. The Pacers broke a five-game losing streak at Air Canada Centre on Saturday, where they had not won since March 1, 2013.
The Raptors will try to rebound from Saturday’s Game 1 defeat and will need to find a way to stop Paul George in the process. A factor that should be key in the Raptor’s success will be the play of the star guard duo DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry. DeRozan scored 14 points (5-19 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 4-6 FT) while adding four assists, two rebounds and two steals in 37 minutes. Lowry added 11 (3-13 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 4-9 FT), seven assists, two rebounds, two steals, and a block in 41 minutes. Jonas Valanciunas set a club record with 15 rebounds in the first half of Saturday’s game. The Raptors finished off the regular-season with a 32-9 record at home.

Fantasy Basketball Value Picks Bulls vs Pacers
Dominate your competition with our NBA Fantasy Basketball Value Picks, create the winning lineup at Fanpicks.com. The Chicago Bulls (36-37) visits the host Indiana Pacers (39-34) at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
Chicago is really struggling lately and they find themselves on the outside looking in for the playoffs. They come into this game losing four-straight, with three of those losses coming against low ranked teams. One problem has been the road form, as they have an awful 12-23 record away from United Center. The Bulls now are three games out of the eight-seed in the east and that may be too difficult to overcome with less than 10 games left in the season.
The Pacers have won three of their last four and it comes at a important time during the season. Indiana is one of four teams contending for the final two playoff spots in the east, but they are the favorites to take it holding the seventh place. Their strength has been the defense, as they now rank seventh in points given after being an average defense for the first few months of the season.
This is a rivalry match-up and with how much the Bulls have been struggling recently, the Pacers should be a sizable favorite in this confrontation.

Daily Fantasy Basketball Projections Pelicans vs Pacers
Dominate your competitions with our daily fantasy basketball projections, create the winning fantasy NBA contest lineups for Fanpicks.com. The New Orleans Pelicans (26-44) make the trip to Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Thursday night to take on the Indiana Pacers (37-33).
The Pelicans have spent their last several outings trading a series of victories and defeats, the latest a Tuesday night drubbing at the hands of the visiting Miami Heat, 113-99. Jrue Holiday started in the defeat, leading the team in scoring with 24 points, adding 7 assists, 4 steals and going 3 of 8 from outside the arc. Luke Babbitt put up 23 points, hauled in 4 rebounds and shot 10 of 19 from field goal range, while Toney Douglas came just shy of a double-double on the back of a 14-point, 9-board performance. Over 49 games played, Douglas is averaging 7 points and 2.2 assists per game. New Orleans second-leading scorer, Ryan Anderson, was absent for second straight match with a groin strain. He’s listed as questionable for Thursday’s match-up. The Pelicans remains in 12th place in the Western Conference, with games scheduled in the coming days against Toronto and San Antonio.
The Pacers are playing for their Playoff lives as April comes into view. They`ve snapped a two-game skid on Monday night with a home court victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, 91-75. All five starters for the club put up double digits in the win. Paul George led the charge and finished the night with 15 points, 6 boards and 3 assists, going 4 of 16 from the field and 6 of 6 from the charity stripe. Monta Ellis put up 13 points, facilitated 5 assists and led the team in long distance scoring, dropping three triples. Ellis has suited up for all 70 games during Indiana’s 2015-16 campaign, averaging 14.3 points and 4.8 dimes per games. Ian Mahinmi and George Hill collected 12 points apiece. Mahinmi added 10 rebounds for the double-double. The Pacers retain a tenuous hold on seventh place in the Eastern Conference, just a half-game ahead of the eighth place Chicago Bulls. Indiana plays four of their next five games at home, where they have a 21-13 record.

NBA Fantasy Basketball Indiana Pacers vs Cleveland Cavaliers
NBA Fantasy Basketball Preview
Lebron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers will be hosting Paul George’s Indiana Pacers in this Eastern Conference battle. FanPicks has your your NBA Fantasy basketball preview for this game. Come enjoy some DFS news and previews at www.fanpicks.com
The Cavaliers are still leading the Eastern Conference with 2 games ahead of the Toronto Raptors despite their struggling form lately, having won once in their last 4 games. Their latest defeat came yesterday at the arms of a Washington Wizards team led by John Wall. The double digit loss was unexpected for this Cavs group playing without their leader Lebron James, who missed his first game since early December. With James back in the lineup for tonight, they shouldn’t have any issues at home against the Pacers. In fact they’ve won 13 straight against the Pacers when Lebron is in the lineup but will definitely need to play much better if they want to compete with real championship contenders such as the Spurs, Thunder or Warriors.
The Pacers are ranked 6th in the Eastern Conference but don’t really have a stronghold yet on their playoff position. They’ve won 50% of their last 10 games and are a middle of the pack team led by Paul George competitiveness and consistency. Their defense is probably the strongest point, ranking in the top 10 teams in the league in pts allowed. The last time both teams met in Indiana less than a month ago, the Pacers came close but dropped the game in Overtime. Their big men Paul George had a really poor game netting only 11 pts but Monte Ellis had to step up, and threw down 18 for his team. They will definitely try to take advantage of a tired Cavaliers squad that showed tremendous weaknesses in their game last night.
NBA/CBB All-Star Game Cross Sport Recap
If you were looking for Fantasy Basketball to play yesterday for the NBA All-Star game, Fanpicks was the only place to satisfy your needs with our exclusive Cross Sport Daily Fantasy Basketball tournaments. We offered several different NBA/NHL and NBA/CBB cross sport cash drafts, here’s what it took to win big money yesterday.
The game ended in a massive 196-173 point total, in favor of the West. However, fantasy point totals were not as high as you would expect with this high scoring of a game with points being spread out throughout the teams.
There was very little defense played all around with only 2 blocks in the entire game, however, out lead scorer Russell Westbrook only took this position at the top of the charts due to his defensive game play adding 5 steals on top of his 31 points, 5 assists, and 8 rebounds. Paul George did what he could to get you fantasy points from the losing side of the game scoring a huge 41 points. Chris Paul brought his value as the point man, racking up 16 assists and Drummond led the centers with 16 points and 13 rebounds for the only other double-double in the game besides Chris Paul.
However, the whole idea behind cross sport is you can’t win with one sport alone, its both that contribute to your point total. In your NBA/CBB cross sport contest, NBA matters more with the 6 roster spots, but a little value at the 3 CBB roster spots could go a long way. Below are the top scorers from college yesterday. With the right picks there was a lot of value to be found, but with the unpredictability of college sports, its hard to determine who will be the top scorers will be in the league, let alone on each individual team.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Indiana Pacers – 02/01/16 Preview

Cleveland is on a 4 game winning streak, averaging well over 113 pts in those games. Their most recent came was an impressive one against the San Antonio Spurs, currently ranked second in the league in wins. Cavs’s leader, LeBron James led the Cavaliers with 29 pts while Kevin Love added 21 pts and Kyrie Irving continuing his great performances posting also 21 pts. The Cavs are full of confidence going into this game with their Big 3 performing and having an extra day to rest before this matchup.
Indiana may have to play without their star center Ian Mahinmi due to a lower back injury. The Pacers struggled a lot during January losing 6 of 7 games in a sequence towards the end of the month but rebounded back with a great win against the Hawks on Thursday and then again Denver on Saturday. Monta Ellis led the Pacers the past two games after Indiana had to changed up their starting 5 to include the rookie, Myles Turner. Turner performed quite well averaging 14.7 pts, 7 boards, 2 blocks and 1.3 steals the past 3 games.
Los Angeles Clippers vs Indian Pacers – 01/26/16 Preview

The Clippers have played without their star Blake Griffin for the past 14 games but have still been able to post an impressive 11-3 record without him. They’re coming back from a tough loss to Toronto and may be starting to feel the Griffin-less effect. Chris Paul lead LA in scoring last game with double-double performance posting 23 pts and 11 assists.
Indiana will probably play again without their starting Center Ian Mahinmi. Their big man missed 3 of the last 4 games due to an ankle and heel injury. It’s likely that Jordan Hill will get the start, coming back from an impressive double-double last game with 17 pts and 13 rebounds. The Pacers have lost their past 2 games but will be rested this time after their back to back games from Friday. Paul George, their usual high scorer posted a team high 34 pts performance during their last game against the Sacramento Kings.

The Pacers have lost 4 of their 5 five games. Their defense was terrible in that stretch, especially in the last 2 games. They allowed 247 combined points in those 2 losses. Indiana is known to be a defensive-minded team under Coach Mike Vogel. It looks like their rhythm slowed down, considering they are one of the fastest-paced teams in the NBA this season. They had the same problem last year, and the team finished outside of a playoff spot. Tonight will be tough game, as the Suns are one of the fastest-paced teams as well.
Hopes in Phoenix are essentially gone at this point. Suns have lost 13 of their last 14 games and that directly correlates with an injury to Eric Bledsoe. The Suns defense ranks 29th in points allowed. Tonight’s game is likely going to be a high-scoring affair, with a total of 210 points allowed between those two defenses. The Pacers comes in as a 7 point odds favorite on the road, which is truly indicative of how bad this Phoenix team is.

The Wizards find themselves on a three-game winning streak following impressive road wins over the Orlando Magic and Chicago Bulls. Wednesday night saw the team return to Verizon Center to defeat the Milwaukee Bucks, 106-101, to remain steady at fourth place in the Southeast Division. John Wall led Washington with 19 points and 8 assists, while Ramon Sessions came off the bench for 15 points and 5 assists. Bradley Beal finally returned to action for the Wizards, netting 11 points in 23 minutes played. Beal had been sidelined with a left leg injury for the last 16 games, and is still the team’s second-leading scorer, averaging 19.3 points per game, second only to Wall. Marcin Gortat found himself out of action for the second straight game with a left knee infection. The Polish center, averaging 9.7 rebounds per contest this season, is listed as day-to-day heading into Friday’s match-up.
The Pacers remain consistent in their inconsistency as of late, alternating wins and losses in the last week, with the Wednesday night trip to Boston seeing them fall to the Celtics, 103-94. Paul George had 23 points and 8 rebounds while shooting 7 of 20 from the field to lead Indiana in production. Ian Mahinmi put up a 10 point, 10 rebound double-double and Monta Ellis went 0-for-5 from beyond the arc as the team holds onto a tenuous grip of fifth place in the Eastern Conference. The Pacers shot an embarrassing 5-for-30 from long range, an area where they maintain a respectable 35.5% average on the season. After going 11-2 in the month of November, the team has struggled entering the new year, finishing December 7-9 and now sitting at 4-3 in January. 9-12 on the road, the Pacers have a difficult four-game Western trip ahead of them next week which includes a stop in Golden State to take on the Warriors.

The Suns have won just one game of their past ten games, but seem to be working better together and adjusting to the loss of their highest scorer, Eric Bledsoe. Before his season-ending meniscus injury, Bledsoe was averaging 20.4 points, 6.1 assists, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game. Their next highest scoring guard, Brandon Knight has had to pick up the slack and play heavy minutes in Bledsoe’s absence. Another problem for Phoenix will be the loss of Alex Len, who is out with a sprained hand.
The Pacers are coming off of a tough overtime loss to the Rockets, in which Paul George was once again their highest scorer. George totaled 20 points, and is averaging 24.2 points per game this season. Before this loss, the Pacers were enjoying a two-game winning streak. They will come into this game after one day of rest after a long four-game road trip. An advantage Indiana has going into the game is that unlike Phoenix, their team is very healthy right now and isn’t experiencing any major setbacks in their lineup.

After suffering an overtime loss to the Heat on Monday night, the Pacers bounced back in Orlando, defeating the Magic 95-86 on Wednesday. Paul George had a game-high 20 points (5-13 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 9-9 FT), along with seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals in just under 36 minutes. George Hill, who missed Monday’s loss due to food poisoning, was back in the starting lineup Wednesday and contributed 16 points (5-9 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds, three assists, and a steal in 34 minutes. The Pacers haven’t lost to Pelicans since April 3, 2011 and will look to keep the streak alive on Friday night.
The Pelicans defeated the Mavericks on Saturday, but fell short in their rematch on Wednesday night, losing 100-91. It was a poor showing from the Pelicans, who lost to a Dallas team who only played 10 players, resting four of their regular starters. Even in the loss, Anthony Davis had a great showing with 26 points (11-25 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 4-5 FT), 12 rebounds, seven assists, three blocks, and two steals in 42 minutes. Tyreke Evans, who returned to the court after missing Saturday’s win, contributed 16 points (6-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds, five assists, and two steals in 35 minutes. Three-point specialist Ryan Anderson has been shaky of late, going 3-for-19 from beyond the arc in the past four games. With a win on Friday, the Pelicans will improve to .500 at home this season with an 8-8 mark.
