Fantasy Baseball Preview – Chicago Cubs vs St-Louis Cardinals – 9-8-15 – MLB

Two NL Central Division powers meet on Tuesday night as the St Louis Cardinals will play host to the Chicago Cubs from Major League Baseball. Fantasy baseball draft GM’s can tune to MLB Network on September 8th at 8PM Eastern Time to follow the results of one day league rosters.

The Chicago Cubs enters play hot winners of four straight after the club won Game 1 of this series on Monday. The Cubs now sit at 79-57 but are seven games back of St Louis for the division title with 27 games left to be played. The Cubs are getting good pitching this season sitting sixth in Team ERA (3.57) and is fifth best in WHIP (1.20). They are the worst hitting team in baseball with a team batting average of .241

St Louis has a firm grip in the NL Central division for some time. As they took the field on Monday the Cardinals held a six game lead in the loss column over the Pittsburgh Pirates. With the loss in the opener of this series the Cardinals have dropped four of five games. The Cardinals own the best Team ERA in baseball at 2.73. The Cardinals are 3-4 on this home stand with two games remaining before they hit the road.

Washington Nationals versus St Louis Cardinals Wednesday Night Baseball Fantasy Picks 9-2-2015

We have entered the final full month of the 2015 Major League Baseball season. Now is the time for teams to make a final push for a division title or playoff wildcard spot. On Wednesday September 2nd two NL contenders face off as the St Louis Cardinals will host the Washington Nationals. The Washington Nationals are trying to stay in reach of the first place New York Mets in the NL East division. Heading into Tuesday Washington was six games in the loss column back of the Mets. After struggling through most of the summer the Nationals have won six of their past nine games heading into the first of September. The team has struggled at the plate with a team batting average of .250 ranking 21st in baseball.

After winning the opener of this series the St Louis Cardinals sit 39 games over .500 with a mark of 85-46. They have had to continue winning because the Pittsburgh Pirates are pushing the Cardinals in the standings. Heading into Tuesday St Louis held just a four game lead in the loss column over the Pirates in the NL Central with 31 games left to be played. The Cardinals have won seven of nine games after beating the Nationals to open the series. They sport the top team ERA in baseball at 2.65 this season.

Two NL pennant contenders meet on ESPN Wednesday Night Baseball as the St Louis Cardinals will meet the Pittsburgh Pirates. Fantasy draft managers can tune to ESPN TV on August 12th to follow the scoring results of their rosters.

The St Louis Cardinals have taken Game 1 of this series with the 4-3 home win. St Louis was able to overcome a two run deficit with three fifth inning runs that game them the lead for good. The Cardinals are now five games in the loss column ahead of the Pirates. St Louis sports the top pitching staff in baseball ranking first in Team ERA at 2.61. They do a good job of limiting base runners with a WHIP of 1.20 ranking fourth best.

Pittsburgh with their loss on Monday had their four game win streak snapped. Like the Cardinals the Pirates have gotten good pitching. The club is sitting third in ERA at 3.25 along with 65 quality starts ranking sixth in the league.
