The bitter rivals take the diamond on Friday May 1st on MLB Network as the Boston Red Sox will play host to the New York Yankees at 7PM Eastern Time.
Many pundits were down on the New York Yankees entering the season. They were not sold on the Yankees hitting lineup and after a down 2014 season there was very little off season activity by the team. With the Cubs, White Sox, Padres and Dodgers stealing the headlines during the winter meetings with major moves many Yankee fans were disappointed by the lack of moves for a team that played below expectations a season ago.
Through the first 22 games of the 2015 campaign the Yankees sit at 13-9 and has a one game lead over both the Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox who sit in second play with a mark of 12-10. The AL East teams have beat up on one another as you look at the teams records you see most about one game over or one game under .500 against AL East opponents. Boston has made moves to the offensive side of the lineup and it has led to more run productions as the club sits fourth in Major League Baseball at 5.14 runs per game to the delight of MLB Fantasy draft managers. The big issue for the Red Sox has been a lack luster pitching staff that ranks 30th and last in all of baseball with a team ERA of 5.04. So far the Red Sox have commented that they are not looking at making moves for a starting pitcher.
New York Yankees Center Fielder: Jacoby Ellsbury the former Red Sox has led the Yankees in hitting in 2015 with a batting average of .321. He has only three extra base hits and three RBI’s. Ellsbury is hot right now as he is 6 of his last 10 as he has back to back three hit games.

San Francisco Giants CF: Angel Pagan struggled with injuries the past few seasons. He went under the knife a season ago as he went through back surgery. The 33 year old sparked the Giants lineup in 2014. He is off to a good start in 2015 as he is hitting .378 on the season. Pagan is 6 of 8 over his past two games.
San Francisco Giants RF: Nori Aoki was acquired from the Kansas City Royals a season ago Aoki was very good glove man in right field. He is hitting .375 on the year. His nine game win streak was snapped on Wednesday as he goes 0 for 3 in the home loss to Colorado.
San Francisco Giants LF: Gregor Blanco has strung together a four game hit streak. He has moved his average from .167 to .241 after hitting a triple in one at bat against Colorado on Wednesday. Blanco has four extra base hits from his seven hits this season.
San Francisco Giants Catcher: Buster Posey is hitting .219 on the year as he is slow out of the gates. Of his seven hits this year two were homers and Posey has two homers with six walks. Posey is just 1 of 15 slump right now.

New York Yankees vs Boston Red Sox- 4/10/15 MLB Fantasy Sports, Baseball Picks, Odds & Predictions
Sunday Night Baseball on April 12th will conclude a three game series between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox. They begin play at 8PM Eastern Time televised by ESPN TV from historic Yankees Stadium. We will take a look at his matchup from a MLB Fantasy draft perspective for real money leagues.
The Red Sox are off to a 4-1 start to the regular season. Much was made by the team’s aggressiveness during the free agent period as the team acquired some pop to the hitting lineup with the additions of Pablo Sandoval and Handley Ramirez. The Red Sox rank third in all of baseball in scoring offense as the team pushes across six runs per game. Of the five games played this season the Red Sox starters have thrown four quality starts. After taking two of three against the Philadelphia Phillies the Red Sox have won the first two games of this series scoring a total of 14 runs in the two contests.
The New York Yankees are off to a cold start with a mark of 1-4 on the campaign. The sad part about this record is the fact the Yanks has played all five games at home. New York has been cold at the plate as they hit just .193 ranking 28th and third last in all of baseball. Many pundits felt that the Yankees lacked offensive punch for MLB Fantasy mock draft managers to utilize in their daily cash leagues. The Yankees have just one quality start from their rotation through five games ranking second to last in the league. The team was hit with a barrage of injuries to their starters in 2014.
Boston Red Sox Starting Pitcher: Tonight’s starter Clay Buchholz had an impressive start to his 2015 campaign. He was the opening day starter and Buchholz delivered with a victory as he allowed no runs and three hits in seven innings pitched in victory at Philadelphia. Buchholz is facing a Yankees team that is not hitting very well.
Boston Red Sox Shortstop: Xander Bogaerts will carry a four game win streak into this contest. He has gone 9 of 20 in his past four games with includes two multi-hit games in that span. He leads his club in batting at .391 in this young season.
Boston Red Sox LF: Hanley Ramirez is coming off a day off after the 19 inning marathon on Saturday. Ramirez is fragile as he has battled injury issues that past few seasons so that explains his positional change to left field. Ramirez in his four games has three multiple hit games and is batting .318 with two homers and five RBI’s this season.
Boston Red Sox 3B: So far the two big bats have come through for the Red Sox. Third basemen Pablo Sandoval is 5-14 over his past two games with two RBI’s he has crushed Yankees pitching in this series.
Boston Red Sox DH: Big Papi David Ortiz is slow out of the gates as the 18-year veteran is hitting .150 in 20 at bats with a home and RBI. After a two hit night on Friday Ortiz went 0-5 on Saturday.
Boston Red Sox C: Mike Napoli is 0 for 2015 as he began the 2015 campaign going 0-17. Napoli is a career 3 of 6 against Tanaka with a double and two home runs.
New York Yankees Starting Pitcher: Masahiro Tanaka gets the start for NY on Sunday Night Baseball. It was not an impressive start for Tanaka in the opener of 2015 as he gets tagged for the loss against the Toronto Blue Jays. His stat line read four innings pitched and four runs allowed on five hits in two walks in defeat. Tanaka was sidelined with elbow problems last year and appeared to be holding back a little on the mound in the opener with his velocity down from last year.
New York Yankees DH: Alex Rodriguez is the Yankees leading hitter with a batting average of .278 with a home run and two RBI’s.
New York Yankees CF: Jacoby Ellsbury after a 0-4 start has five hits in his past 16 at bats but all singles with no RBI’s.
New York Yankees 1B: Mark Teixeira has a hit in his past three games and has homered in two straight contests. After the Friday night 19 inning affair Teixeira sat on Saturday and will be freshened for this spot.
New York Yankees Catcher: Chase Headley struggled with the Yankees soon after being traded from San Diego a season ago. Headley has just three hits in his first 22 at bats with a home and two RBI’s.

Rios tailed off from home run pace as he clubbed just three for the Royals last season and was also injury prone.
Kansas City Royals First Base: Left hander Eric Hosner is hitting .357 to start the year. The 25 year old had two multiple hit games to start the year and has a home run and four RBI’s. He has a hit in all three games this year. In his youth Hosner has battle consistency issues.

He was just looking to make the Angels in 2014 and really struggled in his first seven games tallying an ERA over 5 runs.
