Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Projections
Courtside Watch – April 24th
The NBA playoffs continues with 2 Western conference Game fours and 2 Eastern conference. The Spurs and the Cavs can sweep their series while defending champions Golden State and the Atlanta Hawks can take a commanding 3-1 lead in their series and head home for the game 5. The first matchup sets the record breaking San Antonio Spurs against the Memphis Grizzlies followed by another Western Conference matchup with the Houston Rockets hosting the Warriors. At 5PM, the Atlanta Hawks will be battling the Boston Celtics and hoping to go 3-1 up before Lebron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers will try to sweep the Detroit Pistons. FanPicks is proud to bring you these daily fantasy NBA basketball projections. The top 20 best performers of all 4 games are featured in these fantasy basketball projections, giving you an edge in all our fantasy basketball contests.
No surprise here when we see Kawhi Leonard taking top spot in this list. He’s been extremely dominant this post season and really carrying with expectations, his San Antonio Spurs. James Harden has the most solid average out of everyone in this list mainly due to the fact that if the Rockets want to remain slightly competitive against the Warriors, Harden will need to show up with his A game every contest, and he’s delivered. Lebron’s consistency is keeping up there in this list as he’s following his typical first round route of any opponents in his lane. James is dominating the 1st round of NBA Playoffs like no NBA player has ever done. He’s yet to lose a game since May 2012 and has never lost a 1st round series! The real stunners of this list are Donatas Motiejunas and Jonas Jerebko. Motiejunas’s game has been quite impressive and complementing Harden’s hard work with Dwight Howard’s seemingly lacking offensive presence. The Lithuanian’s double double last game gave the Rockets many options. On another note, Jerebko’s versatile defense helped spark his teammate Isaiah Thomas’s career high 42 pts and mostly, make this series quite interesting.
Fantasy Basketball Projections – April 22nd 2016
The NBA playoffs continues with a couple of Eastern conference Game three’s and one Western conference. All three better-seeded teams could take a 3-0 lead in the series tonight, but it’s back at home for the underdogs. The first matchup sets LeBron and the East number 1 Cavs against the Pistons at 7PM ET. Following at 8 PM will be the Hawks in Boston’s TD Garden Arena, while at 9:30 PM, the second best team in the West take on the Grizzlies. FanPicks has you prepared with Friday’s fantasy basketball projections, charting the top 20 best performers for all three games.
It’s no surprise that LeBron James takes number one in the top 20 fantasy picks. His level of consistency is tremendous, scoring over 30 FP is past 10 games. Along with LeBron, Kyrie Irving his the only other player in today’s lineup to score an average of over 30 FP during the playoffs. Kyle Korver suprisingly ranks number two with 25 FP, having had a huge Game 2 against Boston. His numbers don’t usually reflect that. He’s got a post-season average of 12.5 FP and a past four game average of 10.1 FP. His teammate, Al Horford, scored the same number fantasy points, and it’s clear that his status his much better than Korver’s. Reggie Jackson is the best fantasy draft player from Detroit, and he’s not even the most expensive. That goes to rebounding machine Andre Drummond. The Piston and Hawks share the most players listed in the top 20 with 5 each. The Hawks leading scorer, Paul Millsap, didn’t make the cut. Proves that the Hawks have a nice arsenal on their hands. The Spurs and Grizzlies are lacking in that list, mostly due to the fact their Game 2 ended in a 94-68 win for San Antonio. Off the board, you could see guys like Celtics Isaiah Thomas, Spurs Kawhi Leonard and Grizzlies Matt Barnes provide more than they did last time around. It will also need to be seen if Kent Bazemore could make the Hawks starting five, as he is a game time decision. Thabo Sefolosha is the one who could take his spot if unavailable. The Swiss player has been increasingly good and could line-up as an amazing sleeper pick.
Fantasy Basketball NBA Playoffs
Memphis Grizzlies vs San Antonio Spurs
The Memphis Grizzlies will travel to Texas to battle the San Antonio Spurs in the 1st game of the their Western Conference series at the tough AT&T Center, a venue where the Spurs only lost once this season to the Warriors. San Antonio pretty much swept the season series and it will be very tough to think they can’t sweep this playoff series as well. On top of that, they held the Grizzlies to 87 pts or less in 3 of those 4 games. On Paper, this is the most loopsided series and the Spurs are extremely high favorites to win all games, the largest favorite in the opening.
The Spurs come into this matchup however having lost 3 of their last 5 games. This is the last concern of their head coach Gregg Popvich who’s simply a bit more worried about the health of his team. Most of their losses this end of season were due to resting players. What’s tremendous about this Spurs team is their form at home. They tied the NBA record for home wins going 40-1 this campaign. Their defense is a lot to blame for their success as they rank 1st in in pts allowed.
There’s a lot to admire about this Grizzlies team but unfortunately, not much to hope for. They start the series going against the best team at home and have battled with injuries of their top players such as Marc Gasol, Mike Conley, Mario Chalmers and Zach Randolph. They luckily snuck in the playoffs and in fact, by only winning one of their last 11 games. Zach Randolph is the real catalyst of their team and cannot do it himself. Their offense has held them back lately as they rank in the bottom 6 in both scoring and assists per game.
NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball News – Memphis Grizzlies vs Golden State Warriors
Dominate your competition with our NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball News, create the winning lineup at Fanpicks.com. The Memphis Grizzlies (42-39) travel to Oakland and will attempt to spoil the Golden State Warriors (72-9) shot at history.
It’s tough not to admire the tenacity of this Memphis team, but they simply don’t have the skills they need to win games right now. With Mike Conley, Mario Chalmers and Marc Gasol out of the lineup, the offense is naturally too inefficient to overcome. It’s all so clear by their recent results as well, with the Grizzlies losing nine of their last 10 contests. Not to mention, they could end up all the way to seven in the western conference if they lose this game, which draws a scary confrontation. This team has been a nice story so far this season, but the playoffs could be an unpleasant end to the year, especially of the fact they will either take on the likes of San Antonio or Oklahoma City.
All the talk in this match-up is about the Warriors pursuit of greatness, as a victory here will give them the best record in NBA history. It’s definitely been an amazing run, as they haven’t lost back-to-back games all season long. The only concern is what this drive will do to them in the playoffs, as all of their competitors have been able to rest many of their main starters, with those of the Warriors playing every game until the end. All-and-all, this is easily the best squad in the NBA and it shouldn’t hamper them much. The Warriors are a projected 18-point favorite in what is one of the most important regular season meeting in recent memory.

The Spurs are coming into this game after a resounding home win against the Miami Heat two days ago, 112-88. Unfortunately for them, Kawhi Leonard had to leave in the second half with an injury after an incredible performance of 32 pts, 8 boards, a steal and a block. He will not be playing tonight and could potentially miss a few games since the Spurs rather rest him before playoffs.
The Spurs were shooting 51.9% from the field and 57.1% from beyond the arc.
San Antonio are just 4 games behind top seed and defending champions Golden State Warriors in the Conference lead and are still perfect at home with a 36-0 records, dropping only one game in their last 8.
Memphis are coming into this game after a loss to the struggling Los Angeles Lakers 107-100. The Grizzlies were led by Tony Allen’s 27 pts, 5 assists, 4 boards and a steal effort. Zach Randolph added a monstrous 16 pts, 6 boards, 5 assists, 3 steals and a block.
The Grizzlies, are currently ranked 2nd in the Western Conference’s Southwest Division. They sit in 5th in the Conference but should watch out as they’ve dropped 5 of their last 7 contests.
The Spurs have won the first 2 contests this season against Memphis.

NBA Basketball Fantasy Basketball Preview
Kobe Bryant’s Los Angeles Lakers will be hosting the Memphis Grizzlies Friday night in this Western Conference battle. FanPicks has your your fantasy basketball preview for this game. Come enjoy some DFS news and predictions at www.fanpicks.com
L.A. comes into this game hoping to end their 7 game losing streak. They’re coming back from a defeat in Memphis 2 nights ago. Unfortunately for the Lakers, their numbers in Kobe’s last year have been absolutely terrible. Terrible to the point where they rank in the bottom 5 teams in pts scored and on average allow over +110 pts a game. On a positive note, their future generation looks promising with youngsters like Julius Randle and D’Angelo Russell.
The Grizzlies are on some kind of hot streak lately, having dropped only one of their last 4. They will hope to continue that streak by beating the Lakers back to back after their latest battle Wednesday. It was the 14th time in their last 16 games that they score way over a 100 pts/ Marc Gasol’s hasn’t really impacted their offense surprisingly. Demarcus Cousins has really been turning it up lately, helping them constantly to boost their offense. They will be hoping to maintain their momentum in this last stretch with the playoffs approaching quickly.

Houston comes into the contest as winners of three straight, their second-best such streak this season. The Rockets edged the Indiana Pacers in their most recent victory, a hard-fought 107-103 overtime win Sunday. Trevor Ariza led the way with a season-high 24 points, and also added five rebounds. The scoring haul included an impressive 5-for-9 performance from long range. Dwight Howard, who’d been questionable heading into the night with a back injury, exploded for an impressive 21-point, 17-rebound double-double, his fifth straight such performance. James Harden and Patrick Beverley rounded out a very productive night for the Houston starting five with respective 21-point and 16-point tallies. The Rockets will come into the game in relatively full health, with only Ty Lawson (suspension) and Donatas Motiejunas (back) out of action.
Memphis comes in having won two straight games, and five of their last seven. Four of those victories have come at home, with the most recent a 101-98 nail-biter versus the Celtics on Sunday. Boston carried a 76-68 lead into the fourth quarter before the Grizzlies mounted a furious comeback. Zach Randolph gave Memphis a shot in the arm on offense in starting the second half in place of the struggling Jeff Green, and finished with 25 points and 13 rebounds, a performance reminscent of some of the 15-year veteran’s dominating outings throughout the years. Mario Chalmers and Tony Allen, who were each starting their second consecutive games in place of the sidelined Mike Conley (Achilles) and Courtney Lee (hip), also made vital contributions. The former stuffed the stat sheet with 18 points, five rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals, while the latter posted a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double. With a victory, the Grizzlies will hope to gain ground on the second-place Dallas Mavericks in the Southwest Division, which they currently trail by 1.5 games.

The Nuggets finally put a halt to a six-game skid on Wednesday night, edging the Minnesota Timberwolves on the road in a low-scoring affair, 78-74. Danilo Gallinari led the team in production as one of only two players on the team to score in double digits, putting up 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Gallinari also made 6 of 7 shots from the foul line. Kostas Papanikolaou scored a double-double off the bench with 15 points and 10 rebounds while Denver shot a putrid 35.8% from the field. The team is 8th worst in the NBA in both offense and defense, averaging 98.8 points and allowing opponents to put up 103.4 points per game. The Nuggets are 5-11 at home and will return from Memphis for an eight-game stand at Pepsi Center against some of the best teams in the West, including Golden State and Oklahoma City.
The Grizzlies have been the picture of inconsistency all season long, losing their latest game on the road to the Oklahoma City Thunder, 112-94, as they remain in third place in the Southwest Division. Mario Chalmers, who has been a boon for the team since being acquired for their 2105-16 campaign, led Memphis in scoring off the bench with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists, making 4 of 8 three-point attempts in the process. Chalmers is averaging 10.5 points for the team on the season. Matt Barnes added 13 points but wasn’t able to find a rhythm from long range, putting in only one triple in six attempts. Friday’s contest will be the first of a six-game stretch at home for the Grizzlies

The Grizzlies have been an interesting team this year and it’s tough to know what you’re going to get on any given night. The team is synonymous with defense and while that was down at the beginning of the season, they have turned it around recently. In fact, they are allowing just over 92 points per game since the beginning of December. Memphis has opted to bring Zach Randolph off the bench lately and he had his best game of the season in their most recent win. He put up a 26 point-18 rebound line in a spectacular performance. One would think that games like that would get him back into the starting-five, but they’re doing some bizarre things in Memphis right now. It’s even more strange considering the state of the offense, as they rank 29th in scoring this year.
The Thunder had to play their last game without Kevin Durant and it was a nightmare result. Durant injured his toe last weekend and it appears he’s unlikely for this game as well. In the game without Durant, the Thunder lost to a Sacramento Kings team as a double-digit favorite. This team really struggled in the first few weeks without Durant as well and it’s a wonder why their so much worse even with all the talent they possess outside of KD. Oklahoma City comes into this matchup as a six-point favorite and this should be a good test for them without their MVP against a Western Conference contender.

The Memphis Grizzlies look for consistency after splitting their last 10 games. The Memphis Grizzlies are averaging 96.2 points on 43.5 percent shooting and allowing 99.2 points on 45.1 percent shooting. Marc Gasol is averaging 16.5 points and 7.6 rebounds while Mike Conley is averaging 15.2 points and 5.9 assists. Zach Randolph is grabbing eight rebounds and Jeff Green is dishing 1.8 assists. The Memphis Grizzlies are shooting 31.7 percent from beyond the arc and 79.8 percent from the free throw line. The Grizzlies are allowing 36.3 percent shooting from deep and are forcing 16.2 turnovers per game. The Memphis Grizzlies have lost six of their last seven road games.
The Portland Trail Blazers hope for another victory after winning four of their last five games. The Portland Trail Blazers are averaging 101.2 points on 44.3 percent shooting and allowing 102.2 points on 44.6 percent shooting. C.J. McCollum is averaging 21 points and 4.3 assists while Allen Crabbe is averaging 11 points and 2.5 rebounds. Al-Farouq Aminu is grabbing 6.7 rebounds and Mason Plumlee is dishing 2.7 assists. The Portland Trail Blazers are shooting 35.7 percent from beyond the arc and 73.6 percent from the free throw line. The Trail Blazers are allowing 34.9 percent shooting from deep and are forcing 11.9 turnovers per game. The Portland Trail Blazers have won three straight home games.
The Grizzlies are 16-33-3 ATS in their last 52 games playing on 1 days rest and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 vs. Western Conference. The Trail Blazers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Grizzlies are 0-3-1 ATS in the last 4 meetings
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks 12-22-15
Mike Conley star point guard for the Memphis Grizzlies should have an outstanding game against the Philadelphia 76ers, who have dreadful overall this season. The 76ers performance against point guards has been terrible and continues to trend downward. Both Kendall Marshall ad TJ McConell have gotten the call to split time at the point guard spot which doesn’t fare well for their defensive chances. Conley’s game as of late has been amazing. He scored 20 points during each of his last 2 games… we expect Conley to continue his strong play against the luckless Sixers
Still filling in for Mudiay… Jameer Nelson is seeing a lot of court time. The Lakers game against point guards continues to be poor which explains why they are currently ranked the worst in the league. We expect, Nelson who had a solid 15 point performance in 37 minutes against New Orleans, could take advantage against the Lakers. Nelson has scored in double figures in each of the last 5 games. We believe Louis Williams will more than likely see the most action against Nelson.
We look to 4th ranked point guard in the league, Reggie Jackson, to give Dragic a tough matchup. Currently, Dragic is averaging 11.3 points just below his career average of 12.6 points with the drop off in 3-pointers being really apparent. Dragic is a career .357 3-point shooter but this year is only shooting .277 from behind the arc. Nonetheless we think he should be coming out of his slump
At the moment Will Barton is showing GAME! Having just come off one of the best games his career game, during which, Barton scored 32 points with seven 3-pointers. Currently, Barton averages 15.3 points a game and is 6th in the league among small forwards in efficiency. He would also be sixth among shooting guards in the same category. Barton goes into a favorable matchup against the Lakers. The Lakers are currently the worst in the league in terms of giving up fantasy points to shooting guards. Look for Jordan Clarkson or Kobe Bryant to guard Barton, which in either case would favor the Nuggets’ sixth man.
While the Mavericks’ Wesley Matthews has the potential for game… he has been struggling, scoring only 13 points against Phoenix, and a combined 6 points against Indiana and Memphis while playing only 29 minutes per game on average. Matthews will be facing Toronto one of the league’s top defender against shooting guards.
Ever since the Raptors realized that Terrence Ross wasn’t cutting it in Carroll’s place; Johnson was appointed to start the last two games. Johnson has posted double figures in his last two games, scoring 14 points each against Sacramento and Minnesota. However, we believe that Dallas will test him, as the Mavericks have shown that they are exceptionally good at keeping fantasy scores lower for small forwards. He will probably be shadowed by Chandler Parsons, and while Johnson is not an explosive player he is more than capable to put up numbers
Barnes continues to start for the Grizz as they go small in an effort to bring Z-Bo off the bench and mismatch their rotations. Barnes has only averaged 8.9 points per contest but could see greener pastures against the Sixers who can’t seem to stop anyone. No team is worse than the Sixers at defending small forwards when using fantasy points as a metric. The Sixers’ Robert Covington could give Barnes problems with his length. Covington is 6’9” while Barnes is 6’6”.
The Italian sniper, Danilo Gallinari will face the Lakers which could very well result in a high scoring game for him. Gallinari is 7th in efficiency among small forwards and is averaging a little over 17 points a game. One interesting note about Gallinari is that if his shot isn’t falling, he is being aggressive and getting to the free throw line. He scored 11 of his 18 points from the stripe in his last game. Gallinari’s 18 points came in just 23 minutes, before he was injured with an ankle sprain. The Lakers are the 3rd worst team in the league in defending fantasy points among small forwards. Gallinari will likely see Kobe Bryant most of the night, if he plays.
Faried is a popular play tonight against a Laker team allowing worse than league average production against opposing power forwards this season.
Rarely does a guy come along who has absolutely no role on the offensive end and is yet still very much a play in DFS. My boy Bismack fits the bill. He’s crazy athletic, looks perfectly at home on the court and exists as the fifth option on offense with the first unit. And calling him the fifth option is really doing him a solid because he’s probably more like the 10th option as you should count all the other guys twice before ever getting to him. But he’s rebounding like a madman and playing crazy minutes. This short slate doesn’t have me wanting to get big money on center.
He should dominate Philly and Jahlil tonight. The only issue is whether he sees anything close to the right amount of minutes. There’s always a good chance Philly gets run out of the gym and that’s the end of the Grizz starter’s minutes. Gasol has big offensive upside, but it isn’t consistent. The thought of that plus his minutes going awry is troubling.
Memphis Grizzlies versus Houston Rockets NBA Basketball Real Money Fantasy Picks 11-25-2015
The Houston Rockets will host the Memphis Grizzlies tonight in a western conference showdown. It will be their second meeting of the season. The Grizzlies took the first one 96-84, less than a week ago. Fantasy basketball GM’s can tune to NBATV on Wednesday November 25th at 8:00PM Eastern Time to track the results of their DFS roster picks.
The Memphis Grizzlies are currently sitting 5th in the west with an record of 8-7. They’ve won 5 out of their last 6 contest. Surprisingly enough, they hold a point differential of minus-4. Their 110-96 win, last night, over the Dallas Mavericks tied their biggest spread of the season. David Joerger’s team is once again solid defensively, giving up 99 PPG to the opponents.
After winning interim head coach J.B. Bickestaff’s first game, the Houston Rockets went back down with two straight losses. They are currently in 12th position in the west with a 5-9 record. One bright spot for the Rockets is the return in the lineup of center Dwight Howard and point guard Patrick Beverley. Howard rested out the last home game against the New York Knicks, while Beverley was hurt for the past five games.
Houston Rockets G:
Harden is leading the Rockets in points (27.9 PPG), assists (6.4 APG) and steals (2 SPG). He is a one man show once again in Houston. He takes care of every offensive task, and he does it with force. His shooting dropped a bit this year with 38% FG, compared to last year’s 44%.
Returning from a 5 game absence, Beverley will likely start this one on the bench as precautionary measures. Jason Terry took over as the regular during Beverley’s injury. Both of them will share playing time tonight, with former starter Ty Lawson getting some minutes as well.
Houston Rockets C:
After missing out most of last season, Howard got back to his rebounding skill this year. He has 13.6 rebounds per game, the most in the team. His average in points is low though. He scored 13.8 PPG this year.
Memphis Grizzlies G
Conley scored a team-high 21 points Wednesday against the Mavs. He leads the team in assists with 6.5 APG. He’s also a close second, behind center Marc Gasol, in the Grizzlies points lead with 15.3 PPG. The point guard is a reliable option tonight.
Memphis Grizzlies F
Green had a strong game Wednesday night against Dallas, scoring 19 points. He has been getting the better of Tony Allen at the small forward position this year.
With Zach Randolph’s day-to-day injury, Barnes is going to get the nod to start again for Memphis. The veteran scored 14 three-pointers last night, and he’ll likely score more of those tonight.
NBA Basketball Fantasy League Pick’s
PG: Mike Conley (Memphis)
SG: James Harden (Houston)
SF: Jeff Green (Memphis)
PF: Matt Barnes(Memphis)
C: Dwight Howard(Houston)
NBA FANTASY BASKETBALL DRAFT NEWS 10-21-2015
THE BEST DEFENSE IS THE BEST OFFENSE FOR THE MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES
The Memphis Grizzlies have emerged has the best defensive team in the west over the past four seasons. They gave up 93 PPG to their opponents in that period of time. Despite that, they had more difficulty scoring themselves, putting up 95.8 PPG. The defensive approach the team took during the last 4 years allowed them to hold a winning percentage of over .600 during each season.
The Southwest division team has a 5 year playoff streak going. Last year, they ended up 5th in the western conference with a record of 55 wins and 27 losses. They took out the Portland Trail Blazers in five games during the first round, but lost to the eventual NBA champions Golden State Warriors in the second.
As good as they are defensively, the Grizzlies needed an offensive shot maker during the offseason. They’ve acquired veteran Matt Barnes to somewhat fill that role. Another important case that needed to be resolved this offseason for Memphis was the re-signing of their all-star player, Marc Gasol.
Memphis Grizzlies PG
At 28 years-old, Conley is the youngest player in the starting five. He’s also the most offensively gifted player in the team. He’s able to create space for teammates Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol to score the bucket. He finished last season with 15.8 PPG and 5.4 AST/Games.
Memphis Grizzlies SG
Lee proved to be the best shooter in the team with an effective field goal percentage of 51.8%. He also shot just over 40% in three pointers. His versatility makes him a trusted player into Grizzlies coach Dave Joerger’s eyes.
Memphis Grizzlies SF
Green scored 13.1 PPG last year and had 47.8% field goal efficiency. His fantasy value will likely go down with the arrival of Matt Barnes to the squad and the possibility of them sharing playing time. He’s still 29 year-old compared to the 35 of Barnes.
Barnes will be playing with the Grizzlies, the team that drafted him 13 years ago, for the first time. During those 13 years, he built quite a resume playing for 8 different teams including the two Los Angeles franchises. Last year, he started in 74 games for the Clippers. It’s the first time he started more than 70 games in a season. He had 10.1 PPG and an effective field goal of 55.3%.
Memphis Grizzlies PF
Randolph garnered success playing the pick-and-roll with Mike Conley. He gathered 16.1 PPG while having a team best 10.5 rebounds per game last year. The 34 years-old only seems to get better with age.
Memphis Grizzlies C
Gasol is one of the best defenders in the league. So leading the team with 17.4 PPG seems kind of odd. It’s because he represent the Grizzlies vision, playing hard close to the net. The younger of the Gasol brothers is also good at setting up teammates. He came in second in the team with 3.8 assists per game. Gasol should be a top fantasy pick center going into the 2015/16 season.
