The Spurs are on a red hot 15 game winning streak coming into this game, clearly their best matchup of the season. San Antonio has had a fairly easy schedule throughout this point. This is the 1st of 4 matchups in the regular season. The Spurs’ depth and defense sets them apart and ranks them 1st in bench points and in many defensive categories. They regularly blow out teams like the Warriors and this contest is to a battle between the 2 best records in the NBA. The Spurs will be without Tim Duncan, therefore will make more usage of LaMarcus Aldridge and David West.
Golden State also has benefited from a favorable schedule and this will make the beginning of a tough second half of the season for them. Not only this will be the 1st of 4 meetings against the Spurs, but they will have to face OKC 4 times as well. Without a doubt, they have the potential to reach the record 72 win mark this season, but it will be very tough with those games in line. With Steve Kerr back behind he bench, the Warriors are in top form to defend their title. With Stephen Curry sitting out in 14 fourth quarters this season, he still has the best numbers in the NBA and is expected to put monster numbers on the board when the game is tight. The Warriors are a 5 point favorite in this battle which is the least amount they have been favored at home this season.
