Miami Heat vs Portland Trail Blazers
Fantasy Basketball Picks
The red hot Miami heat will travel South West to visit the Portland Trail Blazers still battling for their playoffs spot at the Moda Center. FanPicks is proud to bring you this NBA Fantasy Basketball picks and preview. Come play in our NBA Magic Million contest where you can win up to a $1 million this week at FanPicks.
Portland Trail Blazers are on a 3 game winning streak and it couldn’t have come at a better time. Portland sits in the 6th spot in the Western Conference, only 1 game behind the reeling Memphis Grizzlies. It is quite an accomplishment, as they weren’t even expected to get to 30 wins this season. Their home form has been huge for them this season as they have a 25-12 record in their home building on the year. There’s no issues yet on the injuries department, but look for the Blazers to be a small favorite in this matchup.
The Heat come into this game having dropped only 2 of their last 7 games and sit currently in a three-way tie for their division crown. The good news for them is that own the tiebreaker over the Atlanta Hawks and Charlotte Hornets, and on top of that clearly have the easiest schedule. In their most recent win, Miami beat the Sacramento Kings despite playing without their star Dwyane Wade. They preferred to rest him so that he would be fresh here in a much tougher matchup.
Fantasy Basketball Daily Picks Nets vs Heat
Dominate your competitions with our NBA Fantasy Basketball Daily Picks Nets vs Heat create the winning lineup at Fanpicks.com. The Brooklyn Nets (21-51) play the host Miami Heat (42-30) at American Airlines Arena.
It’s difficult to get a read on this Brooklyn team, as they come into this game with a reasonable two-game winning streak. What’s even more surprising about those victories is who they came against, as they were versus two Eastern Conference playoff teams. That’s what can be baffling about the Nets, as they have the skill to play with anyone, but always fail to live up to their potential. The biggest problem with this team is the offense, as they hold the 27th spot in league scoring.
The Heat come into this match-up winning three of their last four, with the one defeat coming in expected circumstances. Miami played the powerful Spurs on the road in that one loss. San Antonio hasn’t suffered a loss in their home building all season. The key with the Heat is their defensive acumen, as they rank fourth in points given. Miami will have no issue slowing down this lackluster Brooklyn offense. That should be the difference maker in this game. Watch for Miami to be a double-digit favorite in this game.
Daily Fantasy Basketball Projections Picks
We enter the last full month of fantasy basketball, and we’re ready to give you tonight’s FanPicks rotopicker NBA lineup. There’s a total of six game tonight, including Chicago versus Miami and Atlanta against Dallas. We’ve put up a list of the daily fantasy basketball projections picks for all the games.
- G – Dwayne Wade – $5,600
With Chris Bosh (calf) being advised to sit out the remainder of 2015-16, Wade will likely be forced to step up and carry his Heat to the playoffs.
- G – Victor Oladipo – $5,600
Oladipo earned 5.2 trips to the charity stripe per game during the month of February while posting 19.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 2.2 steals, and 0.5 blocks across 38 minutes per matchup. The majority of those figures are the best he has mustered up in terms of monthly averages in 2015-16, and Oladipo is likely to continue seeing heavy minutes for the remainder of the season.
- G – Ronnie Price – $3,500
With Brandon Knight (groin) still without a timetable for return, Price figures to continue serving as a highly cost-effective option in daily leagues for the time being.
- F – Aaron Gordon – $4,800
Opposing defenses will be in serious trouble if Aaron Gordon’s three-point shot proves to be a weapon over time, and he’s set to receive all the minutes he can handle over the remaining months of the season.
- F – Draymond Green – $6,700
Green produced a double-double Saturday with 14 rebounds and 14 assists in a 121-118 win over the Thunder. Draymond is one of a kind and we won’t see another one like him for a long, long time.
- F – Chandler Parsons – $5,000
Parsons is managing 20.2 points (57.1 FG, 50.0 3Pt, 93.8 FT), 4.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 2.8 threes, 1.2 steals, and 0.8 blocks in 31 minutes per appearance over the last five contests.
- C – Pau Gasol – $6,900
With both Derrick Rose (hamstring) and Jimmy Butler (knee) out, Gasol is taking upon himself to distribute the ball and is hugely successful. Even at 35 years old, Gasol continues to contribute consistently across the board.
- UT – Luol Deng – $5,100
With Bosh potentially missing the rest of the season due to blood clotting in his calf, Deng’s fantasy value is on the definite upswing, and it could go even higher once he’s fully recovered from the dislocated finger that’s restricted his efficiency on offense over the last three games.
- UT – Carmelo Anthony – $6,600
He averaged 22.2 points on 19.7 shots in February, hitting only 39 percent of his attempts from the field. However, he did pull down 9.8 rebounds per game to go along with 4.9 assists to 2.7 turnovers, one three-pointer, 0.8 steals, and 0.2 blocks in 38 minutes per appearance. It’s a bit odd to see Anthony playing such heavy minutes despite the team’s 25-36 record, but fantasy owners in leagues that value counting stats have to be pleased.

Fantasy Basketball Miami Heat vs New York Knicks preview
NBA Basketball Fantasy Basketball Preview
Things will heat up tonight in the Big Apple as the New York Knicks will be hosting the Miami Heat Sunday evening. Come play our NBA Fantasy Basketball contest and YOU could win BIG at FanPicks.
New York is on a terrible slump lately, having struggled both offensively and defensively. For some reason, they’ve won only 3 games out of the last 14. Even though they’ve won back to back games, the opponents were very weak. The Knicks will have a handful this game against Miami’s defense unit and their new offensive addition.
Miami has been playing very well lately despite dropping their last 2 games against the Celtics and the Warriors. Unfortunately for them, their leading scorer, Chris Bosh is under serious pressure from team doctors to sit down for the rest of the season. Dwayne Wade and the offensve has been getting unexpected great help from Hassan Whiteside and Goran Dragic. Whiteside played 4 straight games with an average of 19.5 pts and 17.3 rebounds while Dragic stepped up as well averaging 19.8 pts, 7 assists and 5.4 boards the last games. The real addition to their squad and danger for the Eastern Conference is the arrival of 7 time all star Joe Johnson. It will in interesting and essential addition for them
DFS NBA Picks
Another edition of DFS NBA Picks is upon us. With one 3pm start you had to get your rosters in early, unless you were taking part in only an Evening Game contest.
Tonight is an extra special edition as Steph Curry and his Golden State Warriors face off against the OKC Thunder. Let’s see which one of those star ballers made my DFS NBA picks.
- My Roster
The Superstars: Steph Curry, James Harden and Russ Westbrook. I didn’t select Curry in my last lineup as my lead superstar and it came back to haunt me. Can’t make the same mistake twice with the league MVP, “Steph! You’re in!”. Harden has had a really nice fantasy month. I’m banking on 35+ fantasy points. Russell Westbrook has been dynamite the last five games averaging 24.2 points, 11.4 assists, 7.2 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 0.2 blocks in 31 minutes played per game.
Star Power: Giannis Antekounmpo is the lone above-average regular in this lineup. He’s been on fire and is fun to watch dominate inside the paint. If he tops 30 fantasy points it will be a good day.
Role Players: Anderson Varejao, PJ Hairston and Tyson Chandler are all pretty cheap and allowed me to afford my big three (Curry, Harden, Westbrook). Varejao is seeing an increase in minutes since his deadline day trade, Hairston has 20 and 18 points in his last two contests so at $3200 I had to snatch him up. Tyson Chandler has multiple 20+ fantasy point games this month, so once again at that price I had to take a chance on such value.
X-Factor: Not to be confused with eachother, Dieng and Deng are my X-Factors. Dieng has been a whole new player since the end of January, almost putting up 25 fantasy points on a nightly basis, while veteran Luol Deng has seen a revival since stepping in for all the Heat injuries.
The plan is for the superstars to have super games, while my support players all perform to at least their average. One exceptional performance combined with that should propel you to top spot in your daily fantasy basketball contest.

Miami is in the midst of a lengthy road stretch and it’s clear they miss South Beach with the recent form they’ve shown. They have now lost four of their last five games and just recently lost their starting point guard to an injury. Goran Dragic will miss at least the next three games with a calf injury and that comes at a bad time considering they traded their backup point guard earlier in the season. That has left Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh with more responsibility and they’ve both been stepping up lately even in the losses. The defense has been the key all season allowing about 95 points per game, but that has faltered a bit lately, as the Heat have allowed at least 95 points in six-straight games. This may be a good opportunity to get on track against a weak offense like the Nuggets though.
Denver has had a rough season, but they are coming off their best win in quite some time. They defeated a 36-2 Golden State Warriors team, despite allowing 38 points to Steph Curry. Danilo Gallinari was the hero in that game, as he scored 28 points and snatched the game-capping steal in the win. He has been brilliant since returning from injury two weeks ago, as he is averaging over 26 points a game since. With how bad this team was struggling a few weeks back, it would have seemed like a miracle that they could beat the Warriors and Heat in back-to-back games, but that may just happen. That has become a nearly 50 percent chance, as this game’s spread is nearly dead-even heading into Thursday night.

Miami has had the fortune of spending most of their season in Miami at their home court and are in the midst of one of the biggest road stretches in the NBA. This will be their 15th game on the road this season and easily their toughest test thus far. What’s been carrying this team is its defense and snail-pace. The Heat simply like to slow games down to play at their pace and that should make for an interesting contrast of styles here against this up-tempo Warriors team. This will be a good game for them to showcase that they are one one of the elite teams in the NBA and they’ll be sure to leave it all on the line in the spotlight game of the night.
The Warriors have won six-straight coming into this and scoring at will. They have at least 109 points in all of those games and have reached 128 in their last two. That’s simply hard to keep up with and considering they have an efficient defense based on metrics, it makes them nearly impossible to beat. That’s the beauty of this team, as there’s no weakness and almost no way to stop them. This will be one of their best tests of the season, as they play the second-est defense and one of the slowest teams in the league. If Golden State can score 110-plus against this Miami team, the sky’s the limit. That coveted 72-win mark is looking more and more like a possibility every day and they’re a good bet to continue winning here, as they come into this game as a 12-point favorite. That line alone shows how dominant this team is.

Miami Heat vs. Utah Jazz
The Miami Heat (22-14) will take on the Utah Jazz (15-20) at Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, UT on Saturday. The Heat come into this matchup winning four of their last five and winning with some stellar defense. They now rank in the top-three in numerous defensive statistics and they should have no problem slowing down this terrible Jazz offense. The one concern is that this is the second half of a back-to-back and many of these Miami veterans struggle in those circumstances. In that game, they ended up beating the Phoenix Suns with some big plays down the stretch. That was a revenge game for Goran Dragic and he had one of his best games of the season, tallying 22 points and seven assists. The paces of the Jazz and Heat should make this one of the slowest games of the season thus far.
The Jazz have lost three-straight and they just can’t seem to stay healthy. They have been without Derrick Favors, Rudy Gobert and Alec Burks for some time now and right when Gobert returned, another top-scorer went down. Rodney Hood went down with an ankle injury in their most recent game and he’s been one of their best scorers as of late. The good news is that Gobert came off the bench in that same game against the Houston Rockets after missing over a month of action. With Favors due back soon as well, things may be finally turning around for this injury riddled team. Even with all the injuries, the team has still been hovering around .500 and playing some great defense. Once Gobert and Favors are back, this team will go back to one of the three-best defensive teams in the NBA. Look for this to be a close and low-scoring game, as the Heat come in as ashort favorite with a projected minuscule total of 185.

Miami Heat vs. Phoenix Suns
The Miami Heat (21-14) will be hosted by the Phoenix Suns (15-24) at the Talking Stick Resort Arena on Friday evening. Miami comes into this game winning three of its last four and this game may mean more to the Heat than appears on the surface. This marks the return of Goran Dragic back to Phoenix after an ugly exit from there last February. Luckily for him and Miami, they are playing the Suns at the best time possible with Phoenix losing nine of its last 10. What’s made the Heat so good this season is their defense, as they rank top-three in numerous defensive categories. This should be an easy win for them if they score 100-plus, considering the Suns offense has fallen apart since the loss of Eric Bledsoe. Look for Miami to use Dragic as much as possible here to stick it to his former team. The contrast of styles is interesting here as well, as the Heat are one of the three-slowest teams, while the Suns are one of the three-fastest teams in the league.
The Suns had a nine-game losing streak prior to winning their most recent game. They ended up beating the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday, who are also struggling immensely right now. This Phoenix lineup is a shell of itself right now though, with players like Ronnie Price and Jon Leuer starting. The projected starting five at the beginning of the year was Tyson Chandler, Markieff Morris, P.J. Tucker, Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight. Considering Tucker and Chandler have been in and out of the lineup, the only one who remains a consistent starter has been Knight. It’s a mixture of injuries and immaturity that has killed this team and they are looking like one of the worst teams in the NBA right now. That can be exemplified by the fact that they come into this matchup as a six-point underdog in their home building.

Miami Heat vs. New York Knicks

The Knicks were victors of their second straight game on Tuesday, defeating the Atlanta Hawks on the road, 107-101. Carmelo Anthony and Arron Afflalo both contributed the most points for the team with 23 apiece, with Anthony adding 11 rebounds for the double-double. Rookie Kristaps Porzingis contributed a double-double of his own, also hauling in 11 boards to go along with his 17 points. Derrick Williams came off the bench for 15 points as the Knicks have now matched their win total for their entire 2014-15 campaign. New York currently sits at 12th place in the Eastern Conference, but with so little room separating the contenders at the top, all it takes is a strong mid-season run to establish themselves as a lower-seeded Playoff hopeful.
The Heat, first place in the Southeast Division, have also managed to string together a series of wins in the last week, the third of which took place on Monday night with an overtime victory over the visiting Indiana Pacers. Chris Bosh dropped 31 points and had 11 rebounds in the 103-100 win, shooting 13 of 16 from the free throw line in the process. Dwayne Wade added 27 points and 8 rebounds in a match-up that saw Miami shoot only 37.8% from the field, their poorest performance this season. That statistic lies in stark contrast with what they typically muster from the paint, as they rank fourth-best in field goal shooting in the league, averaging 46.2% per game. With the win the Heat improve to 15-7 at home, while sitting at 6-6 on the road. Those seldom road games are about to change for Miami, as they will play 10 of their next 11 contests away from American Airlines Arena.

The Indiana Pacers could use a victory after splitting their last 10 games. The Indiana Pacers are averaging 102.5 points on 44.4 percent shooting and allowing 98.6 points on 44.3 percent shooting. Paul George is averaging 24.5 points and 7.7 rebounds while C.J. Miles is averaging 14.5 points and 1.1 assists. Monta Ellis is dishing 4.5 assists and George Hill is grabbing four rebounds. The Indiana Pacers are shooting 37 percent from beyond the arc and 75 percent from the free throw line. The Pacers are allowing 33 percent shooting from deep and are forcing 16.1 turnovers per game. The Indiana Pacers have lost six of their last seven road games.
The Miami Heat look for another victory after winning six of their last 10 games. The Miami Heat are averaging 97.2 points on 46.6 percent shooting and allowing 95.1 points on 42.9 percent shooting. Dwayne Wade is averaging 18.6 points and 4.6 assists while Chris Bosh is averaging 18.4 points and 8.1 rebounds. Hassan Whiteside is grabbing 11.2 rebounds and Goran Dragic is dishing 5.3 assists. The Miami Heat are shooting 33.5 percent from beyond the arc and 72.9 percent from the free throw line. The Heat are allowing 33 percent shooting from deep and are forcing 12.5 turnovers per game. The Miami Heat have won six of their last 10 home games.
The Pacers are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 vs. NBA Southeast. The Heat are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record and 6-20 ATS in their last 26 vs. NBA Central. The Pacers are 6-0 ATS in the last 6 meetings.
The Pacers have been flat out brutal on the road as of late. Meanwhile, the Heat are slowly figuring things out on the offensive end and seem to be clicking more than the beginning of the season.

SG: Monta Ellis
SF: Paul George

NBA Fantasy Basketball Draft News 10-18-2015
Miami Heat is Hoping That Their Experience Can Lead the Team Back to the Playoffs
The Miami Heat concluded play last season with a record of 37-45 and missed the playoffs. They were a game behind the eighth place finisher in the Eastern Conference the Brooklyn Nets. It was their first year of play after LeBron James decided to return to Cleveland. Heading into last season many had pegged the Miami Heat with enough talent to make the playoffs. A team with Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade certainly should have been enough to carry the team into a playoff berth in a weak Eastern conference. But the Heat was struck with major concern to the health of their impact big man Chris Bosh. He was forced to miss the final 38 regular season games as he was struck with blood clots in his lungs that required extensive medical care. It was enough to force him to miss the remainder of the 2014-15 campaign. The good news is that Bosh is healthy and expected to be ready at 100% for the start of the regular season.
Miami Heat PG:
The 29 year old point guard was acquired from Phoenix last year and played in 52 games for the Heat. In 33 minutes a contest he shot .50% from the field and averaged 16 points with four assists. Expect those assists totals to go up now that Chris Bosh will be playing side by side with him for a full season. It was just two seasons ago where Dragic averaged 20 points and six assists per game in his time with the Phoenix Suns.
Miami Heat SG:
Wade is a tough choice on NBA one day fantasy league rosters because his name will always appear on injury reports questioning his status for upcoming games. He is 33 years old and has played 12 years in the league. Last year he averaged nearly 32 minutes a game and shot 47% from the floor with 21.5 points per game tally. His three point shooting had digressed which is a sign his aging and what his lack of health has done to his body. You have to respect his points per game average but he contributed with 3 ½ boards and nearly five assists per game. Just be careful on back to back nights with Wade as the Heat coaching staff may look to reduce his minutes in those spots.
Miami Heat PF:
This is Chris Bosh’ team now and has experience as the floor leader dating back to his days with the Toronto Raptors. Before his illness he contributed with 21 points and 7 rebounds per game average in his 44 games a season ago. He shot 46% from the floor and space opened up for Bosh in the paint now that LeBron is gone.
Miami Heat SF:
A 30 year old with 11 years of experience in the league Deng is coming off his first season in Miami by hitting on 47% of shots and averaging 14 points and five rebounds per game. Deng shooting percentage was his best in seven seasons. At 35% from the three point line it was still over Deng’s career mark. The benefit of having Deng on the court with Bosh is that the shooting forward can hit shots from the outside which allows Bosh more room to operate down low.
Miami Heat C:
Whiteside is in his third year and was one of the NBA’s biggest surprises last season. He was an NBA fantasy darling who came rather cheaply in one day leagues and produced big numbers. Last year was his first with the Heat and Whiteside averaged nearly 12 points and 11 rebounds per game with 2 ½ blocked shots.
