Los Angeles Angels vs Houston Astros – 7-29-15 – MLB

DFS Fantasy Baeball

Two AL West division contenders lock horns on Wednesday Night Baseball as the Houston Astros meet the LA Angels. Fantasy baseball draft managers can tune to ESPN TV at 8PM Eastern Time to follow the results of their selected rosters.

The Houston Astros had enjoyed first place in the AL West for much of the early part of the season. They hit a slump and an LA Angels hot streak catapulted Los Angeles to first place in the division at the All Star break. They began a three game series on Tuesday night with Houston crushing the Angels 10-5 to draw just one game in the loss column behind LA for the lead in the division.

With the loss the Angels have dropped three of their past four games. The pitching has gone south as the team has given up 24 runs over their past three games. On the offensive side the Angels have been getting lots of home runs of late and they are now 6th best in baseball with 113 on the season.

Houston is the top home run hitting team in baseball with 138 on the year. They are fourth best in run production (4.43 per game) despite being 25th in baseball in team batting average (.244). With their victory over the Angels on Tuesday the Astros now have won seven of their past ten since returning from the All Star break.

Los Angeles Angels vs Boston RedSox- 7-19-15-MLB Fantasy Sports, Baseball Picks, Odds & Predictions

Play Fantasy Baseball

It will be the final game of the weekend series between the LA Angels and Boston Red Sox on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball for July 19th 2015. MLB mock draft managers can tune to ESPN at 8PM Eastern Time from Anaheim to following the scoring results of their rosters of players.

The Boston Red Sox were hoping the momentum they built up from the final month prior to the All Star break would help turn the team into a contender. Unfortunately for the Red Sox and those who chose players from Boston for their fantasy rosters the club has shown very little at the plate as the Angels have shut out the Red Sox in the first two games of this series.

The Angels started slowly but have moved their record of 50-40 following the 3-0 victory against the Red Sox on Saturday night. LA has not shown much offensively either in the first two games back with a 1-0 win on Friday night totaling to just four runs thus far in this series. The Angels starting staff have been brilliant sitting fifth in Major League Baseball with 55 quality starts.

Boston Red Sox SS: Xander Bogaerts has a batting average of .302 with three homers and 43 RBIs. He has been on fire in July by hitting .373 with ten RBIs. His eleven game hit streak came to an end on Saturday.

Boston Red Sox 2B: Dustin Pedroia is a bit rusty getting back from the All Star break with a 0 for 8 in his first two games of this series. His average has dropped to .298 and Pedroia has nine homers and 33 RBIs on the season.

Boston Red Sox CF: Mookie Betts is going through a 0 for 8 series as well against the Angels. Betts is hitting .271 with ten homers and 43 runs batted in.

Boston Red Sox LF: Hanley Ramirez in his first year with the Red Sox is batting .268 with decent power numbers as the veteran has 19 homers and 46 RBIs season to date. He has struggled in the month of July with a .188 hitting average.

Boston Red Sox 3B: Pablo Sandoval in his first year with Boston is batting .267 with seven homers and 30 RBIs. He is coming off a two hit game against the Angels on Saturday.

Boston Red Sox DH: David Ortiz has good power numbers with 15 homers and 43 RBIs on the campaign. The average is only .233 on the season.

Boston Red Sox P: Left hander Eduardo Rodriguez is making his tenth start of the year for Boston. He is 5-2 with an ERA of 3.59. He has allowed no greater than two earned runs in eight of his ten starts season to date.

Free Baseball Cash Draft Beat the Streak

LA Angels CF: All Star MVP Mike Trout carries a .307 batting average into Sunday with 27 homers and 56 RBIs. He is just 1 for 8 in the series with the game winning home run on Friday night in the series opener.

LA Angels SS: Erick Aybar is having a great month of July with a hitting average of .391. Aybar looks to bounce back from a 0 for 6 in the first two games with Boston in this weekend series.

LA Angels RF: Kole Calhoun is off to a great start since the All Star break as he is 4 for 7 in this series. Calhoun powered the Angels on Saturday with two home runs in the win. Over his past seven games Calhoun carries a .364 batting average.

LA Angels 1B: Veteran Albert Pujols has his average at .253 with great power numbers of 26 homers and 56 RBIs.

LA Angels P: Hector Santiago has shown great improvement during his fourth Major League Baseball season. The 27 year old from Newark New Jersey has pitched like the ace of the Angels staff with a record of 6-4 with an ERA of just 2.33 and WHIP of 1.10.
