Wednesday Cash Draft Basketball Preview
FanPicks has all of NBA matchup ready for live cash draft basketball. Take a look at every game available at FanPicks.com on Wednesday.
Raptors vs 76ers
The Toronto Raptors may receive a challenge from a team they typically pummel. Toronto will be seeking its 15th consecutive win over the 76ers, but Philadelphia is showing signs of progress with six victories in its last eight games.
Grizzlies vs Wizards
The Washington Wizards are riding their home dominance up the standings in the Eastern Conference and aim for their 13th straight win in front of the home fans. The Wizards are trying to sweep a three-game homestand after beating Philadelphia and Portland by a combined 35 points.
Trail Blazers vs Hornets
The Charlotte Hornets got off to a superb start this season but a prolonged slump caused them to dip below .500. Charlotte will look to get back to the break-even mark and halt a five-game losing streak against the Trail Blazers.
Knicks vs Celtics
Isaiah Thomas looks to continue his torrid pace and the Boston Celtics will try to match their longest winning streak of the season. Thomas led the Celtics to their third straight win with another remarkable fourth-quarter burst.
Magic vs Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans did not do as well as they wanted on their five-game road trip and come home with star power forward Anthony Davis banged up. The Pelicans hope to have their star back in the lineup against the Orlando Magic.
Bucks vs Rockets
James Harden attempts to add to his triple-double count, as well as help Houston break out of a minor funk. The Rockets have dropped three of their last four games, including Tuesday’s 109-103 loss to Miami despite Harden’s 40 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.
Hawks vs Pistons
Detroit Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy sat through a three-hour meeting with owner Tom Gores on Saturday and came out of it with the organization on the same page from the top down, despite some disappointing results. Van Gundy will try to thank his boss for the support with a second straight win, as they host the Hawks.
Thunder vs Warriors
When the Golden State Warriors put everything together, they look positively unbeatable. The Oklahoma City Thunder already saw that type of performance once from the Warriors and will try to disrupt the rhythm with star Russell Westbrook going up against former teammate Kevin Durant.
Pacers vs Kings
The Sacramento Kings are failing to take care of business on a seven-game homestand and look to end it with a victory against the Indiana Pacers. The Kings are just 1-5 entering the finale of the long home set and then embark on an eight-game road trip that may decide whether or not they remain in range of a Western Conference playoff spot.
Golden State Warriors vs Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics finally appear to be getting things in order on the defensive end, just in time to welcome the highest-scoring team in the NBA to town. The Celtics will try to earn a fourth win in five games and slow down an offensive juggernaut when they host the Golden State Warriors on Friday (Enter Contest).
Boston surrendered an average of 123 points during a three-game slide but cut that number down to 93.8 in the last four contests, capped by a 90-83 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday. Celtics coach Brad Stevens and All-Star guard Isaiah Thomas were regularly questioning the team’s effort during the losing streak, but that effort appeared on Wednesday in the form of a 53-32 advantage on boards. The Warriors were outrebounded 46-35 on Wednesday at Toronto but erased the deficit by hitting 50.6 percent from the field and burying 13 3-pointers. Golden State is averaging 123.4 points during a five-game winning streak and handed out 30 or more assists in each of the five contests.
ABOUT THE WARRIORS (9-2)
Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry scored 30 or more points in the same game for the first time as teammates in Wednesday’s 127-121 triumph but the best player on the floor may have been Draymond Green. The All-Star forward collected 11 points, seven rebounds, five assists, three blocks and two steals in the win and leads the team in rebounding (9.8), assists (6.9), steals (2.3) and blocks (1.7). The Warriors are the first team since the 1990 Chicago Bulls to hand out 30 or more assists and shoot 50 percent or better from the field in five straight games. Golden State earned a 124-119 double-overtime victory in Boston last season to improve to 24-0 before suffering its first loss the next night in Milwaukee.
ABOUT THE CELTICS (6-5)
Avery Bradley does it all for Boston, and the 6-2 guard grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds on Wednesday. Bradley posted a points-rebounds double-double in three of the last four games. Center Al Horford (concussion) missed the last eight games and there is still no timetable for his return.
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Projections
Courtside Watch – April 24th
The NBA playoffs continues with 2 Western conference Game fours and 2 Eastern conference. The Spurs and the Cavs can sweep their series while defending champions Golden State and the Atlanta Hawks can take a commanding 3-1 lead in their series and head home for the game 5. The first matchup sets the record breaking San Antonio Spurs against the Memphis Grizzlies followed by another Western Conference matchup with the Houston Rockets hosting the Warriors. At 5PM, the Atlanta Hawks will be battling the Boston Celtics and hoping to go 3-1 up before Lebron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers will try to sweep the Detroit Pistons. FanPicks is proud to bring you these daily fantasy NBA basketball projections. The top 20 best performers of all 4 games are featured in these fantasy basketball projections, giving you an edge in all our fantasy basketball contests.
No surprise here when we see Kawhi Leonard taking top spot in this list. He’s been extremely dominant this post season and really carrying with expectations, his San Antonio Spurs. James Harden has the most solid average out of everyone in this list mainly due to the fact that if the Rockets want to remain slightly competitive against the Warriors, Harden will need to show up with his A game every contest, and he’s delivered. Lebron’s consistency is keeping up there in this list as he’s following his typical first round route of any opponents in his lane. James is dominating the 1st round of NBA Playoffs like no NBA player has ever done. He’s yet to lose a game since May 2012 and has never lost a 1st round series! The real stunners of this list are Donatas Motiejunas and Jonas Jerebko. Motiejunas’s game has been quite impressive and complementing Harden’s hard work with Dwight Howard’s seemingly lacking offensive presence. The Lithuanian’s double double last game gave the Rockets many options. On another note, Jerebko’s versatile defense helped spark his teammate Isaiah Thomas’s career high 42 pts and mostly, make this series quite interesting.
Fantasy Basketball Projections – April 22nd 2016
The NBA playoffs continues with a couple of Eastern conference Game three’s and one Western conference. All three better-seeded teams could take a 3-0 lead in the series tonight, but it’s back at home for the underdogs. The first matchup sets LeBron and the East number 1 Cavs against the Pistons at 7PM ET. Following at 8 PM will be the Hawks in Boston’s TD Garden Arena, while at 9:30 PM, the second best team in the West take on the Grizzlies. FanPicks has you prepared with Friday’s fantasy basketball projections, charting the top 20 best performers for all three games.
It’s no surprise that LeBron James takes number one in the top 20 fantasy picks. His level of consistency is tremendous, scoring over 30 FP is past 10 games. Along with LeBron, Kyrie Irving his the only other player in today’s lineup to score an average of over 30 FP during the playoffs. Kyle Korver suprisingly ranks number two with 25 FP, having had a huge Game 2 against Boston. His numbers don’t usually reflect that. He’s got a post-season average of 12.5 FP and a past four game average of 10.1 FP. His teammate, Al Horford, scored the same number fantasy points, and it’s clear that his status his much better than Korver’s. Reggie Jackson is the best fantasy draft player from Detroit, and he’s not even the most expensive. That goes to rebounding machine Andre Drummond. The Piston and Hawks share the most players listed in the top 20 with 5 each. The Hawks leading scorer, Paul Millsap, didn’t make the cut. Proves that the Hawks have a nice arsenal on their hands. The Spurs and Grizzlies are lacking in that list, mostly due to the fact their Game 2 ended in a 94-68 win for San Antonio. Off the board, you could see guys like Celtics Isaiah Thomas, Spurs Kawhi Leonard and Grizzlies Matt Barnes provide more than they did last time around. It will also need to be seen if Kent Bazemore could make the Hawks starting five, as he is a game time decision. Thabo Sefolosha is the one who could take his spot if unavailable. The Swiss player has been increasingly good and could line-up as an amazing sleeper pick.
NBA Basketball Game Fantasy Preview
Boston Celtics vs Los Angeles Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers will try to put their locker room issues behind them as well as this record losing season when they host the Boston Celtics Sunday night at the Staples Center. The Los Angeles Lakers have dropped 4 of their last 5, but are playing their best basketball of the season. They ended up winning against the Miami Heat in an OT nailbiter. But in reality, winning isn’t the main thing this team needs right now though simply because the higher they finish, the less likley they will get a # 1 overall draft pick. Kobe Bryant’s farewell tour is almost done and it’s really sad to see him wrapped up like a mummy after every game. He will come out playing hard in this game that was traditionally one of the best rivalries in sports.
The Boston Celtics come in this game having only lost twice in their last 8 games but with the most recent win standing above any wins this season. They can really brag about beating the Golden State Warriors on the road, simply because it cracked their record of 54 straight home wins. This Celtics squad is doing some impressive stuff, as they’re currently one of the few teams in the NBA who rank simultaneously in pts scored, assists and boards per game. Despite the fact they’ve fallen to the 6th spot in the Eastern Conference the recent weeks, they’re only haf a game behind the Miami Heat that sit in 3rd .

Boston Celtics vs Golden State Warriors
Steve Kerr’s record breaking Golden State Warriors will try to push their undefeated home record and march towards victory # 73 when hosting Friday night, the Boston Celtics in Oakland at the Oracle Arena. This Fantasy NBA basketball preview is brought you by FanPicks.com. Come PLAY in our Daily Fantasy Basketball contests at FanPicks and get a free chance to win $1 Million dollars!
The Golden State Warriors are looking for win number 37 coming into this matchup. They’re right around making history with just a few wins to becoming the NBA’s best ever team. Not only they’re coming into this game off a huge victory in their latest game against the Utah Jazz on the road but are overcoming fatigue and intense pressure. They ended up besting the Utah Jazz in the back of a back to back set of games especially going into overtime. What will be difficult for the Warriors despite getting that record amount of wins, is keeping that form into the playoffs to defend their title. Golden State, on a 6 game winning streak right now will be big favorites for this game and it wouldn’t be surprising to see Steve Kerr resting some of his top players in the 4th quarter.
The Celtics head into this game having won 4 out of their last 6 games and on a mission to remain in playoffs. They’re hoping to finish anywhere between 3rd and 6th in the East, currently sitting in 4th. Jae Crowder is back in the lineup and back from injury. He’s one of the most undervalued players in the NBA. But what’s impressive of Boston is their teamwork. They rank surprisingly in the top 6 in the NBA in points scored, boards per game and assist per game.
Boston Celtics vs Portland Trail Blazers
NBA Fantasy Basketball preview
Two teams battling for their playoffs will meet up tonight at the Moda Center in Portland when the Boston Celtics visit the Portland Trail Blazers in what should be a great showdown. FanPicks is proud to bring you this NBA Fantasy Basketball preview. Come play in our NBA Magic Million contest where you can win up to a $1 million this week at FanPicks.
The Trail Blazers are playing very well and have won 3 of their last 4 games. Their intensity is growing as they’re battling to stay into the playoffs. They’re currently sitting in the 6th spot in the Western Conference but are only 2 games up from the 9th place Dallas Mavericks. This season had a lot of ups rather than downs and they can see this campaign as a success, as they were a projected lottery team who’s game exceeds expectations. The Trail Blazers can look very bright in the figure as this team is full of talented young stars who can carry this team very far. This game will be tight as the Celtics are in the same boat and in a 3 way tie to remain in the playoffs.
The Celtics as well have been playing stellar lately having lost only one of their last five games. Even though the wins came against extremely weak opponents such as the Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns and last place 76ers, a win is a win and they need to be taken into consideration though. The Celtics are fighting for their tough playoff spot in the Eastern Conference where being in 3rd place one day means you can be in 6th the next. It’s extremely tight and they will need to focus and dig deep to beat the Trail Blazers on their home court. Jae Crowder has been practicing with the squad and may be back with this game. He’s a great defensive players as well as an offensive weapon for the Celtics.
Boston Celtics vs New York Knicks Fantasy Basketball News – 02-02-16
The Boston Celtics (27-22) will play the host New York Knicks (23-27) at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday. FanPicks has this game on tap for tonight’s DFS action. Come play Fantasy Basketball at fanpicks.com.
The Celtics enters this matchup winning five of their last six games. They last played against the Orlando Magic, who were on an eight-game losing streak, and lost the game 119 to 114. Boston’s offense has been incredible as of late. They are averaging over 113 points per game, in their last ten matchups. Their success comes from a good distribution of the ball. They rank fifth in the National Basketball Association for assists. This team is one of the few right now that have no superstar among them, but are still able to play good team-basketball.
The Knicks have lost five of their last six games, with their lone win coming against the Phoenix Suns. It’s not going well for them, as they are steadily falling out of out of playoff contention. Their superstar, Carmelo Anthony, is currently out of the lineup; a likely reason why the Knicks are failing miserably to score points. New York is currently 21st in the NBA scoring. It will not get easier for them tonight against the Celtics, who boast one of the best defense in the league. On the bright side, Carmelo is expected to return tonight and they will be playing in their home stadium, Madison Square Gardens.
Chicago Bulls vs Boston Celtics – 01/22/16 Preview
The Boston Celtics (22-21) will host Friday Night the Chicago Bulls (24-17) in this Eastern Conference showdown. The Celtics are the odds favorites to win (line: -3.5). Here is the projected lineup for tonight:
The Bulls, coming back from an embarrassing lost on Wednesday night to the history-making and defending NBA Champions Golden State 125-94 at home. Derrick Rose led the squad with 29 pts, shooting 12 for 22. Rose, currently the 3rd leading scorer for the team this year is averaging 15.4 points/game. Jimmy Butler added 23 points with 5 rebounds while the rookie Bobby Portis came off the bench and added 16 points with 8 rebounds. Chicago only made one 3pts shot out of 20 attempts and shot for 37% all night. With only 1.5 games ahead of the Pacers in the Central Division, Chicago is losing grip of their 2nd place grip slowly before even travelling to face conference leading Cleveland on Saturday before their 7 game road trip next week. Chicago are 8-9 this season on the road.
The Celtics return home on Friday night from a winless 2 road games after their defeat on Wednesday to division rivals, Toronto Raptors,115-109. Isaiah Thomas led the team with 21 points and 10 assists for his 5th double double of the season. Thomas, with an average of 21.7 pts and 6.7 assists is regarded as one of the most underrated NBA players this season. Avery Bradley added 19 pts whereas Kelly Olynyk recorded 18 pts off the bench. Boston could steer things up this upcoming week with a light schedule against the struggling Orland Magic, 76ers, Wizards and Nuggets.

The Suns are in the midst of a miserable season and head into the weekend on a 1-12 run that has them floundering in fourth place in the Pacific Division, ahead of only the Los Angeles Lakers. The team traveled to Indiana on Tuesday night and were summarily pounded by the Pacers, 116-97. Having now won only four games on the road in their 2015-16 campaign, Phoenix were led by Devin Booker and Mirza Teletovic, who each put up 19 points. Markieff Morris came off the bench to come a hair shy of a double-double with 16 points and 9 boards, yet failed to connect on all four of his long range attempts. Things may only get worse for the club, as they have lost eight straight games away from home and will cap off January with a four-game road jaunt that includes a visit to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Celtics were able to shake off a four-game string of losses to best the Indiana Pacers at TD Garden on Wednesday, 103-94, to improve to .500 at home. Isaiah Thomas once again led Boston in scoring with 28 points, making 9 of 18 from the floor and 4 of 6 from deep. Thomas is averaging a gaudy 32.3 points in his last three outings and is by far the most potent offensive threat the team possesses. Jae Crowder went 11-for-15 to finish with 25 points and Amir Johnson put up 14 points and hauled in 18 rebounds to see the Celtics try and dig out from a 1-5 start to the year. Boston has leapfrogged the New York Knicks to once again sit at second place in the Atlantic Division, 4.5 games behind the Toronto Raptors, who they will meet next Wednesday north of the border.

The Celtics meet the New York Knicks are looking forward to breaking a three game losing streak. When they last played together, the Celtics took the win. Boston has been unable to score over 100 points in their last three straight loses, and desperately need to fuel their offense coupled with better defensive fluidity in an effort to go for the win. The Celtics are healthy and injury free with guards Isaiah Thomas and Avery Bradley leading the offensive game. They have been averaging 21.1 and 14.7 points per game, respectively. While Jae Crowder and Marcus Smart drive the defensive game with both players leading the Celtics in steals with 1.9 and 1.8 per game respectively.
The Knicks on the other hand have been victorious in their last 5 games driven by an aggressive offense. Players like Carmelo Anthony and rookie sensation Kristaps Porzingis have been playing strong consistent games with Anthony averaging 21.7 points per game and Porzingis scoring in the double digits on his last six games. If they can keep this up, they may be able to overcome the Celtics, and bring the series to 1-1.

The Celtics continue their road trip after dropping a game to the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night, 99-94. The team struggled mightily on all ends of the floor, shooting a paltry 37.4% from the paint and 21.4% from long range in the loss. The club has struggled with their scoring efficiency all season, sitting at fourth-worst in the league with a 43.3% field goal average per game. Isaiah Thomas once again led Boston in scoring with 22 points and 10 assists, while Amir Johnson posted a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. The Celtics have been nipping at the heels of the Toronto Raptors for first place in the Atlantic Division for the majority of their 2015-16 campaign, but now sit two games behind their division rivals. The two teams will meet on January 20th in Toronto.
Chicago has won five games in a row and are starting 2016 off as one of the hotter teams in the league, now sitting just three games behind the Cleveland Cavaliers for first place in the East. Their latest victory took place at home (where they own a 15-5 record) on Monday night where they made quick work of the Milwaukee Bucks, 117-106. Jimmy Butler once again delivered for the team with a 32-point, 10-assist performance, draining all eight of his shots from the foul line along the way. Butler is leading the Bulls in scoring this season, averaging 22.1 points per game. Both Pau Gasol and Taj Gibson had double-doubles in the game, with the tandem combining for 25 boards, one of the main reasons that the team ranks first in the league in rebounds.

The Pistons are coming off of an annihilation of the struggling Magic on Monday night at home, 115-89. All five Detroit starters scored in double digits, with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope leading the charge with 21 points and 6 rebounds, making five three-pointers along the way. Andre Drummond added 17 points and was his usual self off the glass with six offensive and six defensive rebounds (for his 30th double-double on the season). The Pistons find themselves inching towards taking over Indiana for third place in the Central Division, a team they sit only a half game behind. Poised for a push into the Playoff picture as mid-season approaches, the Pistons will need to improve their 7-11 record away from the Palace of Auburn Hills.
The Celtics also recorded a W on Monday as Jae Crowder put in 25 points to lead Boston to a 103-94 victory over the Nets in Brooklyn. The performance was a career-best for Crowder, who also added 6 rebounds and made 7 of 8 shots from the charity stripe. Crowder is averaging 13.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists in the team’s 2015-16 campaign. The Celtics’ leading scorer on the season, Isaiah Thomas, put in 19 points while Evan Turner recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Boston is a better road team than they are at TD Garden, a trend that will be tested in January as the team plays the majority of their games away from home.
