All those stories are all fun, but let’s get to what really matters, the MLB Daily Fantasy Picks. Go to FanPicks.com and be ready cause here I go with my selections of the day!
Pitcher: Gio Gonzalez (WAS)
Gonzalez will make his season debut after reaching double digits in wins for the sixth straight year in 2015. The 30-year-old native of Florida lost three consecutive starts back in August before finishing strong, posting a 2.70 ERA over his final seven turns. This stretch included an outing against Atlanta on September 5, in which he pitched 10 strikeouts over six scoreless innings. Gio won both of his starts versus Atlanta last season, to improve his 4 and 8 record with a 4.54 ERA in 13 career outings against the Braves.
Catcher Nick Hundley (COL)
Hundley will take his place back into the lineup. He took a regular maintenance day Sunday against the Padres. The 32 years-old has started the first five games of the season for Colorado, going a respectable 5-for-15 at the plate over that span.
1st Baseman: Chris Davis (BAL)
Davis is coming off a high with his game winning three-run homer off Craig Kimbrel on Monday. Last year, home run king will surely be at it again in Fenway.
2nd Baseman : DJ LeMahieu (COL)
LeMahieu is having some early success collecting 2 home run, 4 RBI’s, 7 runs and an AVG. of .478.
3rd Baseman: Manny Machado (BAL)
Along with teammate Chris Davis, Machado is the only other player in the team to hold 3 homers. Friendly competition on who’s going to smack more homers between the two sluggers.
Shortsop: Carlos Correa (HOU)
Correa went 3-for-5 in the opening game of the series acquiring 2 RBI’s. He will look to carry the momentum tonight against the Royal’s fifth starter, Kris Medlen.
Outfielders : Colby Rasmus (HOU), Melvin Upton Jr (SD), Jose Bautista (TOR)
Rasmus is providing great support with 3 homers and 6 RBI’s in the Astros meat of the order.
Upton racked up five hits over his previous three games until manager Andy Green decided to give him a day off Monday. But he’s now back on the starting order tonight.
With 2015 MVP Josh Donaldson great start to the season, it’s easy to forget that Jose Bautista is right behind him in the order with 2 home runs and a .286 average.
