Houston Rockets vs San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs had three-plus days to reflect on the beating they took from the Los Angeles Clippers and attempt to regroup when they host the Houston Rockets on Wednesday (Enter Contest). San Antonio was trounced 116-92 by the Clippers on Saturday for its second straight home loss after compiling a 40-1 home record last season. Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard had a rare off-night posting 14 points on 3-of-13 shooting. He had plenty of company when it came to sub-par performances within the team.

ABOUT THE ROCKETS (4-3)

Houston is 2-2 on a five-game excursion and guard James Harden doesn’t seem fatigued as his club wraps up a season-opening stretch in which seven of eight games are on the road. Harden had 32 points and 15 assists in Monday’s 114-106 win over the Washington Wizards to become the first player since Michael Jordan (1988-89 season) to post four consecutive outings of at least 30 points and 10 assists. He’s thriving in the offensive system of first-year coach Mike D’Antoni, particularly with the decision to let him handle the ball all the way up the court. It certainly is working as Harden is averaging 31.6 points, 12.7 assists and 7.1 rebounds and scored at least 24 points in each game. Shooting guard Eric Gordon is averaging a below average 10 points on 7-of-21 shooting over the past two games.

ABOUT THE SPURS (5-2)

San Antonio might have the starting backcourt of point guard Tony Parker and shooting guard Danny Green in the lineup together for the first time this season. Parker (knee) missed the past two games while Green hasn’t played at all after suffering a quadriceps injury last month but was a full participant in Monday’s practice. Point guard Patty Mills, who made three starts in place of Parker this season, had just four points on 1-of-7 shooting last game versus the Clippers. The Spurs won six of the past seven meetings.

Fantasy Basketball Thunder vs Spurs Game 1 Preview

The 2nd ranked San Antonio pretty much swept the Grizzlies in a commanding fashion as expected. They’re coming off a full week of rest and ready to head back into back after posting their 7th series swept in 9 years. The league’s Defensive Player of the Year, Kawhi Leonard had a tremendous first round. He was not only a threat offensively but was also impressive in the rebounding section, constantly making him a fantasy lineup sure shot. His French peer, Tony Parker was also solid from the field with his mix of speed and dribbling. their big man LaMarcus Aldridge ended up the series on a double-double note and averages 14.5 pts with 8 boards a game. It seems like he’s found his Trail Blazers’ rhythm and fits right in with the Spurs. This could be extremely menacing for the Thunder as well as the defending champions, Golden State Warriors.

The Thunder finished off the Dallas Mavericks this past Monday to end the series in 5 games. This will be the first time that Oklahoma City advances to the Semifinals in 2 years. Russell Westbrook has been putting up MVP numbers this year and even in the series against the Mavs. His sidekick, Kevin Durant is as consistent as it gets. Westbrook finished off Monday with 36 pts, 12 boards and 9 assists and frequently posts near triple double numbers. Durant finished with 33 pts on monday with 7 boards. Durant and Westbrook are ranked 4th and 5th in the postseason scoring race with each averaging around 26 pts. They’ve had some help as well from Steven Adam who recorded a double double too. This will be the first time that both teams meet since 2014 when they lost the series 4-2 against the Spurs in the Conference Finals. The season series is split at 2-2 and this series will be one hell of a show.

Fantasy Basketball NBA Playoffs

Memphis Grizzlies vs San Antonio Spurs

The Memphis Grizzlies will travel to Texas to battle the San Antonio Spurs in the 1st game of the their Western Conference series at the tough AT&T Center, a venue where the Spurs only lost once this season to the Warriors. Fantasy Basketball NBA Playoffs

San Antonio pretty much swept the season series and it will be very tough to think they can’t sweep this playoff series as well. On top of that, they held the Grizzlies to 87 pts or less in 3 of those 4 games. On Paper, this is the most loopsided series and the Spurs are extremely high favorites to win all games, the largest favorite in the opening.
The Spurs come into this matchup however having lost 3 of their last 5 games. This is the last concern of their head coach Gregg Popvich who’s simply a bit more worried about the health of his team. Most of their losses this end of season were due to resting players. What’s tremendous about this Spurs team is their form at home. They tied the NBA record for home wins going 40-1 this campaign. Their defense is a lot to blame for their success as they rank 1st in in pts allowed.
There’s a lot to admire about this Grizzlies team but unfortunately, not much to hope for. They start the series going against the best team at home and have battled with injuries of their top players such as Marc Gasol, Mike Conley, Mario Chalmers and Zach Randolph. They luckily snuck in the playoffs and in fact, by only winning one of their last 11 games. Zach Randolph is the real catalyst of their team and cannot do it himself. Their offense has held them back lately as they rank in the bottom 6 in both scoring and assists per game.

The Spurs lost their first home game of the season recently, in a superb matchup against the Golden State Warriors Sunday night. They’ve had an amazing season so far and now have a franchise best 65 wins, despite losing 3 in a row. Their head coach, Gregg Popovich doesn’t care about that and is simply more concerned about having his veterans in good form for the playoffs which start next week. This really looks like a great game on paper but will most likely not really see much superstars playing in this meaningless game. In any case, the Spurs should be a favorite in this game depending on the status of their players.

Oklahoma City come into this game having lost 3 of their last 5 games, with 2 wins coming against extremely weak opponents such as the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers. The problem is that some of those losses need to be taken in consideration though, as the Thunder has been resting players with their comfortable position in the 3rd spot of the Western Conference. Their offense is still and will always be on point though, as they continue to rank 2nd in scoring, just behind Stephen Curry’s Golden State Warriors. It’s still unclear if the coach will play his top players here or will rest them as this game is simply meaningless game for both teams in terms of playoffs positioning.

NBA Basketball Fantasy Draft

San Antonio Spurs vs Denver Nuggets

Gregg Popovich’s hot San Antonio Spurs will be heading Colorado to face the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center Friday night after their tough game against arch rivals Golden State Warriors last night. This NBA basketball fantasy draft preview is brought you by FanPicks.com. Come PLAY in our Daily Fantasy Basketball contests at FanPicks and get a free chance to win $1 Million dollars!

NBA Basketball Fantasy Draft

The Nuggets come into this game having lost 5 of their last 6 games. They’re definitely hoping to end this long frustrating season as soon as possible. They’re a young team with some potential to look forward too and possibly one of the best core in the NBA. They’re heading into this game with no possible way to get in the playoffs and will most likely play everyone on their roster. Their opponents, the second biggest powerhouse in the NBA will most likely rest all their top players, therefore, they could potentially snatch up a win with some hard work. San Antonio remains a favorite regardless in this game regardless of the circumstances.

San Antonio has only lost 5 games since the end of January. Their only losses have came against elite playoff teams and their solid defense has been nothing less than remarkable all year. Their consistent results just shows everyone how good this team is and they will most likely continue to play this low key fantastic way. Although, their most recent loss last night was pretty emphasized as a loss of their pursuit for the top seed in the Western Conference and moreover, the number one overall, their head coach Gregg Popovich focuses strictly on his players fitness for the important post season right around the corner. It will be surprising if their top players get even over 20 minutes of play in this game.

Fantasy NBA Basketball Lineup

San Antonio Spurs vs Golden State Warriors

Gregg Popovich’s hot San Antonio Spurs will be heading to Oakland tonight where they will face their arch Western Conference rivals, Golden State warriors. If the Warriors want to beat the Bulls 72 win season, they will need to win their last 4 games in a row starting tonight. This Fantasy NBA basketball lineup is brought you by FanPicks.com. Fantasy NBA Basketball Lineup

So this is it…. the march to 73 wins really starts here for the Warriors as they’re going into the questionably their toughest stretch of the season. A lot of people marked this game on their calendar as the day when the Warriors would lose their first home game of the season. Well, a lot of people were wrong. Ironically, not sure if it’s the pressure but Golden State has lost 2 of their last 3 home games. Many people predicted them blowing out the 72 wins record since no one expected losses against the Boston Celtics and furthermore, a struggling Minnesota Timberwolves squad. It’s now that they’re finally looking like humans. Unfortunately for them, this is the worst time of the year to be slipping in some kind of slump. With the playoffs right around the corner, all the squads are building up the blueprints on how to beat the Warriors. They will most likely come out flying this game but the issue is down the stretch. Will they survive the 4th quarter and tenacity of the San Antonio Spurs as they did back in January when they technically blew them out at home or they will struggle in the last 4 minutes of the game like they did against the T-Wolves. Regardless, this matchup will be exciting to watch.

The Spurs are on another level lately and come into this game having won 4 straight games. On top of that, if they actually beat the Warriors twice in their next 5 games remaining, they have a crack at the top seed in the Western Conference. A lot of speculation from experts believing that Gregg Popovich doesn’t care about beating records and getting the number one seed. It’s quite possible that he rests his top players like he has lately on the road. It would be a huge disappointment to NBA fans as well as Fantasy Basketball fans, so definitely avoid picking out the top Spurs players on your lineup but Ginobili should be hot tonight with a lot of responsibility.  So far this year, these teams have split the first 2 games when facing one another but with the home team winning each game.

NBA Basketball Fantasy Projections

San Antonio Spurs vs Utah Jazz

Gregg Popovich’s hot San Antonio Spurs will be heading to Salt Lake City to battle the Utah Jazz at Vivint Smart Home Arena on Tuesday. This NBA basketball fantasy projections is brought you by FanPicks.com. Come PLAY in our Daily Fantasy Basketball contests at FanPicks and get a free chance to win $1 Million dollars!

NBA Basketball Fantasy Projections

The Utah Jazz have been thriving off their defense as well. The surprising fact is that the Jazz actually rank 2nd in the NBA just behind San Antonio. Unfortunately though, they’re barely in the playoffs sitting in eighth in the Western Conference, just one game in front of the Houston Rockets. The Jazz have won 4 of their last 5 heading into this game and clearly have some motivation to obtain their final playoff berth. Utah is also rocking solid at home and made it their fortress with a good 24-14 home record into this game.

San Antonio head into this matchup having won 5 of their last 6 games. What’s really encouraging for them is the way LaMarcus Aldridge has been playing. He is really starting to find his Portland form lately. With this already dominant team, its hard and scary to imagine the damage they can make in the post season. Their key to success this year has been their defense as they ranked 1st in pts allowed since the opening month of the year.

Basketball Fantasy preview

The San Antonio are still standing tall and remain undefeated at home with a 38-0 record. They come into this game having dropped the visiting New Orleans Pelicans Wednesday. They had a lot of contribution coming from the bench with 20 pts from Manu Ginobili. Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green both finished the game with 16 pts, with Leonard adding 6 rebounds and Green going 4 of 6 from 3 point range. Green has only missed 2 games for San Antonio this season, and averages 7.4 pts with 3.9 boards per game. Big man LaMarcus Aldridge added 11 pts and 6 boards as they look destined to finish their season with the number 2 seed in the Western Conference. The Spurs  will still face first place Golden State Warriors twice in their remaining seven games.

The Raptors have won 2 straight games and are having a historical success this season. Their latest win came against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night. With 27 points coming from their star DeMar DeRozan, he led the Raps in scoring, shooting 8 of 17 from the field. Kyle Lowry added 22 points and Jonas Valanciunas had a double-double with 11 pts and 14 boards. Valanciunas leads the team in boards over 54 games averaging 9.2 per game. The Raptors will enter the playoffs as the 2nd seed in the Eastern Conference since most likely the Cavaliers will take the 1st seed.

NBA Primetime Fantasy preview

San Antonio Spurs vs Oklahoma City Thunder

Gregg Popovich’s San Antonio Spurs (61-11) are travelling to Oklahoma Saturday where they will battle their Western conference rivals, the host Oklahoma City Thunder (50-22) at Chesapeake Energy Arena in this NBA Primetime matchup. FanPicks is proud to bring you this NBA Primetime Fantasy preview. Take a break from March Madness and come play in our NBA Magic Million contest where you can win up to a $1 million this week at FanPicks.

NBA Primetime Fantasy Preview

The Thunder have been struggling more than usually since the All-Star break but seem to be back on their winning ways the past two weeks, after their loss to the Spurs on the 12th of March, 93-85.  In fact, they’re currently on a 6 game winning streak and averaging nearly an impressive 120 pts per game and allowing the teams to around 100 pts a game. The defense is actually very impressive and it may be a game changer if they can keep up during playoffs. Their offense is obviously always consistent led by dynamic duo of Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant, but their defense can get them to wherever they want to be. With numerous players resting for the Spurs this weekend, the Thunder should be favourite to win this game.

The Spurs are currently rolling with one of the best squads in and clearly having one of the best seasons in franchise history. In fact, during the Tim Duncan era, they have not won less than 50 games, showing the amazing consistency of this proud franchise. With that being said, this game could definitely be one of their few losses of the season. Their head coach, Gregg Popovich decided to rest many of his key players this weekend, therefore are expected to be without Tim Duncan, Kawhi Leonard, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili. Look out for a few bench players to put up some nice Fantasy points today like Danny Green or David West for the Spurs.

Golden State Warriors vs San Antonio Spurs

With only 14 games left in the regular season, the top 2 teams in NBA will face off tonight when defending champions Golden State Warriors travel to the AT&T Center to face the San Antonio Spurs. This Fantasy NBA Primetime Fantasy Preview is brought you by FanPicks.com. Come PLAY in our Daily Fantasy Basketball contests at FanPicks and get a free chance to win $1 Million dollars!

NBA Primetime Fantasy preview

The Spurs come into this game having dropped only 1 game in their last 14 and most of all carrying a 43 home game winning streak. This game will be more than fascinating and an important factor is that the Warriors last regular season win in San Antonio dates back to February 14th 1997.

The Spurs are 20-3 since their blowout loss to the Warriors and with their playoff berth already safe and secured, Gregg Popovich is trying to rest some of his players to ensure everyone is ready for the postseason. This is definitely their roughest stretch for any teams performing at this level. The Spurs, the league’s best defense will try to stop the best offensive unit in the NBA and push their home record.

Golden State Warriors have been rising and shining the past 18 months. They come into this game having won 7 straight games as well as 14 of their last 15. This game will be by far the toughest test of their season despite their 30 point blowout of San Antonio back in January. For only the fourth time this season, they’re seen as an underdog here, as they’ve lost 32 straight games in San Antonio. Yes, 32 but this time, the Splash Brothers dynamic duo will be in full force as they hit 16 3-pointers last night and combined for 70 points in their win against the Mavericks in Dallas.

Statistically speaking, this will be the best regular-season matchup of all time in NBA history with a combination between opponents of 119 wins and only 16 losses.

Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks

With the NBA trade deadline passing, and the schedule coming back from hiatus, FanPicks.com presents to you our first edition of daily fantasy basketball picks. You can try this roster, or just take some value pick targets out of this, it’s up to you!

  • My roster

NBAlineup0218

I went with the most successful basketball technique known to date…a “big three”. Derrick Rose, Chris Paul and Lebron James will lead this lineup into battle tonight.

“Bron-Bron” vs “D. Rose” is always a delight, and tonight will be no different. With so much time off, these big guns are well rested and ready to put on a show.

I expect Doug McDermott to be a major beneficiary of Rose’s play, same can be said for Bobby Portis except he creates many of his own chances as well.

Lebron will have a monster game, but it’s Tristan Thompson on the inside that I’m banking on. If the versatile big-man can keep pace with his teammates (James and Irving – who is on fire) that slot in your lineup will get a major boost in value.

Wesley Johnson, Danny Green and Patty Mills will be running the court when the Spurs taken on the Clippers in a late night showdown. Green and Mills will need a big game to counter CP3, Johnson and co. if they want to defeat a Clippers team they’ve had trouble with over the past year.
