Golden State are on the brink of becoming the best NBA team ever but however hit a speed bump in their most recent game. They lost at home on Friday night against the Boston Celtics to halt their 54 game home winning streak. Surprisingly, Stephen Curry had the worst game of his season and committed 9 turnovers. He also missed an open 3 pt shot at the end of the game to tie it. They’re still headed for their second straight season leading record and most likely the best record in the NBA even if they drop only 1 game in the next 6, goals are still limitless for the Warriors though, as they are a 5-1 finish away from having the best record in NBA history. They will most likely avenge their loss against the Celtics.

The Trail Blazers are coming into this game winning Portland comes into this game on a 4 game winning streak and it couldn’t come at a better time. They ‘re currently on a 4 game winning streak and it couldn’t come at a better time. They’re now only 1 game away from the 5th place in the West. The Memphis Grizzlies are on slope and continue to fall down the ranks. What’s impressive is that their last 2 wins have come against elite teams from the East. With Damian Lillard setting his career high 52 pts in a win earlier this year against Golden State, look for him to have a great game this campaign.

Miami Heat vs Portland Trail Blazers

Fantasy Basketball Picks

The red hot Miami heat will travel South West to visit the Portland Trail Blazers still battling for their playoffs spot at the Moda Center. FanPicks is proud to bring you this NBA Fantasy Basketball picks and preview. Come play in our NBA Magic Million contest where you can win up to a $1 million this week at FanPicks.

Fantasy Basketball Picks

Portland Trail Blazers are on a 3 game winning streak and it couldn’t have come at a better time. Portland sits in the 6th spot in the Western Conference, only 1 game behind the reeling Memphis Grizzlies. It is quite an accomplishment, as they weren’t even expected to get to 30 wins this season. Their home form has been huge for them this season as they have a 25-12 record in their home building on the year. There’s no issues yet on the injuries department, but look for the Blazers to be a small favorite in this matchup.

The Heat come into this game having dropped only 2 of their last 7 games and sit currently in a three-way tie for their division crown. The good news for them is that own the tiebreaker over the Atlanta Hawks and Charlotte Hornets, and on top of that clearly have the easiest schedule. In their most recent win, Miami beat the Sacramento Kings despite playing without their star Dwyane Wade. They preferred to rest him so that he would be fresh here in a much tougher matchup.

Boston Celtics vs Portland Trail Blazers

NBA Fantasy Basketball preview

Two teams battling for their playoffs will meet up tonight at the Moda Center in Portland when the Boston Celtics visit the Portland Trail Blazers in what should be a great showdown. FanPicks is proud to bring you this NBA Fantasy Basketball preview. Come play in our NBA Magic Million contest where you can win up to a $1 million this week at FanPicks.

NBA Fantasy Basketball preview

The Trail Blazers are playing very well and have won 3 of their last 4 games. Their intensity is growing as they’re battling to stay into the playoffs. They’re currently sitting in the 6th spot in the Western Conference but are only 2 games up from the 9th place Dallas Mavericks. This season had a lot of ups rather than downs and they can see this campaign as a success, as they were a  projected lottery team who’s game exceeds expectations. The Trail Blazers can look very bright in the figure as this team is full of talented young stars who can carry this team very far. This game will be tight as the Celtics are in the same boat and in a 3 way tie to remain in the playoffs.

The Celtics as well have been playing stellar lately having lost only one of their last five games. Even though the wins came against extremely weak opponents such as the Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns and last place 76ers, a win is a win and they need to be taken into consideration though. The Celtics are fighting for their tough playoff spot in the Eastern Conference where being in 3rd place one day means you can be in 6th the next. It’s extremely tight and they will need to focus and dig deep to beat the Trail Blazers on their home court. Jae Crowder has been practicing with the squad and may be back with this game. He’s a great defensive players as well as an offensive weapon for the Celtics.

Portland Trail Blazers vs Los Angeles Clippers

Fantasy NBA Basketball Portland vs LAC

The Clippers are currently on one their worst stretches of the season  and lost 5 of their last 6 games surprisingly.  A matter fact, they haven’t won consecutive games since the start of this month. They’re getting beaten badly in the rebounds sections, having been outrebounded 11 straight games. It’s difficult to understand how that’s happening with their big man DeAndre Jordan ranking 2nd in the league in boards. The team is really lacking to keep up with Jordan and will need to step it up with the playoffs right around the corner.

The Trail Blazers come into this  matchup having won 2 of their last 3 games including a crucial victory in their playoff contention against the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavs and Blazers have been battling this second half of the season non stop for the final spots in the Western Conference. With Portland on a slump recently, having won only 4 games out of their last 12, they will definitely need to get back in their hot form of January-February. This will be another critical test for their playoff race but another undervalued asset of their team is their rebounding. With that being, they should take advantage of the Clippers front court difficulties when Jordan isn’t on the floor as they now rank 5th in the NBA in rebounds.

Portland Trail Blazers vs San Antonio Spurs

Fantasy NBA Preview

Gregg Popovich’s San Antonio Spurs, en route to capture the league’s second-longest home winning streak will be hosting The Portland Trail Blazers at AT&T Center on Thursday night. Fantasy NBA Preview

San Antonio are on a 42 home game winning streak, 3 games shy of the NBA record prior to Golden State eclipsing the 90’s Bulls record. In fact, they’re clearly being overlooked this year due to the ridiculous records being pulled by the Warriors and the Spurs are having a wonderful season, one of the best in recent times. Not only they’re ranking first in points allowed with their solid defensive play, but are also on pace to have the best all time point differential in the NBA’s history. The whole team is playing extremely well including Kawhi Leonard who has really stepped us his already high level game but also LaMarcus Aldrige. Aldrige who led the Trail Blazers in scoring the last 5 seasons signed surprisingly to the Spurs in the summer and integrated his new team quite well.

The Trail Blazers, despite being a hot team the past 2 months are on an ugly stride right now, having dropped 5 of their last 7 games and in terrible fashion. Their defense is non-existent allowing over 109 pts in 6 of those 7 last games. Their offense is still solid led by Damian Lillard and ranking 8th in the league for points scored. With the playoff around the corner, they will need to really pace themselves and focus further defensively to secure their berth. The Spurs are far favourites in this contest.

Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks

While our daily fantasy basketball picks have been red-hot of late, there were many choices on the schedule tonight so the end result does have a wider margin for error.

We still like our team of course, specifically a few of our choices.

Let’s take a look at the entire lineup.

nbafanpicks.com13

There were a ton of options at point guard this evening, but a few stood out to us.

Damian Lillard was definitely one, as he is set to face-off with Russell Westbrook and the OKC Thunder. He played his heart out against the Warriors, and will do so again against this Western Conference giant.

Ricky Rubio has a fantastic matchup with the Suns, as they are one of the 6 worst teams in the league over the past month at defending point guards. I’m hoping for at least 35 points from Rubio.

We think Gary Harris is a terrific value pick at $5200. Harris is one of several Nuggests attemtping to pick up the offensive slack Danilo Gallinari has left since he went down with injury, and Harris has done it quite well. He has been ridiculously consistent over the past 10 games, so another 25 fantasy points should be on the books.

At $4200 Harrison Barnes is the biggest value play. Sometimes the Golden State SF has a big game, and it would be great if that came tonight. The Pelicans provide a nice matchup of course as well. His inclusion fit more in terms of team need rather than targeting, but we’re still confident he can hit the 20 spot.

We don’t usually invest heavily in the center position, but Hassan Whiteside looked like money tonight. The Miami big-man has now reeled off 12 straight games with at least 10 rebounds and two blocks.

Thanks to all for reading and good luck!

Portland Trail Blazers vs Golden State Warriors

NBA Fantasy Basketball preview

The many record breaking Golden State Warriors will be hosting their Western rivals, the Portland Trail Blazers at the Oracle Arena hoping to avenge their embarrassing loss the last time they played. Fanpicks has your NBA Fantasy Basketball preview of this Western Conference matchup.

NBA Fantasy Basketball

Golden State comes into to this game having dropped only 1 out of their last 10 games. The level of their ball game is spectacular to watch as well as their depth. Ironically, their only recent loss was in Los Angeles against the second worst team in the league.

Their ball movement is a prime example why they’re averaging nearly 30 assists per game, on path for another NBA record. Their loss to the Blazers however was one they will not forget as Damian Lillard put on a show in Portland and blew them out. With some difficulty, they broke the NBA record for home games winning streak and will try to push their own record to 47 games. With Iguodala back in the lineup, the Warriors will be coming out firing tonight and are far favorites in this contest as they’ve won the previous 4 meetings before the February blowout in Portland.
Portland will be hoping for another stellar performance from their star Damian Lillard who scored a career high, 52 pts helping the Blazers best Golden State by an unthinkable 32 pts. The Blazers can still be considered one of the hottest teams in the NBA, having the second best record since January 10th in the league. The only team with a better winning percentage since the start of the year is none other than Golden State.

The Blazers’ offence is extremely threatening beyond the arc, just like the NBA champions. Lillard is ranked 3rd in the league in 3 pt shooting behind Stephen Curry and his teammate Klay Thompson. C.J. McCollum has been shooting over 50 % beyond the arc for the past 11 games. The Blazers’ hot streak somewhat slowed down recently as they’ve lost 3 of their last 4 games unfortunately but are still having a firm hold of their playoff berth . Lillard as only won once out of 5 tries when visiting the Warriors.

NBA Weekend Fantasy Basketball Recap 2/29

This NBA Weekend Fantasy Basketball recap is brought you by Fanpicks. Come enjoy some daily fantasy basketball action and WIN big at www.fanpicks.com

Friday

This past weekend was filled with fast paced games with huge final scores. It started Friday with the Mavs beating the Nuggets in overtime 122-116 and the Clippers over the Kings with 117-107 in regular gameplay. When you see huge point totals like this, it is usually accompanied by big fantasy numbers from the game leaders, and these games did not disappoint.

The first game saw Dirk Nowitzki put up 20 points with 13 rebounds, 4 assists, and a block for a total of 32 fantasy points. But the real stars of the night were DeMarcus Cousins and Chris Paul. Cousins put up 26 point with 15 rebounds and 9 assists, just short of the triple double. He ended the day with 42 fantasy points. On the other side of the ball Chris Paul put up a huge 40 points, coupled with 8 rebounds and 13 assists, pulling more than his share with the absence of Blake Griffin. Chris Paul led the entire weekend with that performance totaling 52.5 fantasy points.

Saturday

Saturday saw even more huge games with the premiere matchup of the weekend Golden State at Oklahoma City. That game did not disappoint with a game-winning shot to end overtime by Steph Curry. The final score was 121-118 and 5 different players in that game exceeded 30 fantasy points. A lineup stacked in that game was bound to generate huge value in your daily fantasy NBA contest.

Durant and Curry led the game scoring 46 and 45.5 fantasy points respectively, Durant hitting 7 three pointers and Curry hitting 12. While only scoring 2 points the entire game, Draymond Green had 14 rebounds, 14 assists, 6 steals, and 4 blocks earning himself some serious fantasy value at 37.5 fantasy points. Ibaka tallied 20 rebounds and 15 game points while Westbrook had 7 rebounds, 13 assists, and 26 points for great fantasy value.

Beyond this game, a couple of key picks on the night were Karl Anthony-Towns and Pau Gasol. Gasol actually led the night with 50 fantasy points coming from a triple double of 22 points, 16 rebounds, and 14 assists. Towns had 30 points, 15 rebounds, and 4 assists totaling 43 fantasy points.

Sunday

While Sunday had the same huge point totals with the Magic winning against the 76ers 128-101, the Mavs over the Wolves 128-101, the Pistons over the Raptors 114-101, and the Blazers over the Pacers 111-102. Surprisingly however, there huge point totals did not lead to huge fantasy value all around. No player exceeded the 40 fantasy point threshold on Sunday.

John Wall led the league yesterday with 35.5 fantasy point coming from 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 13 assists. Parsons from the Mavs had 32.5 fantasy point from 29 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. Finally Lillard and Horford each had 32 fantasy points, Lilllard’s coming from 33 points scored while Horford coupled 13 game points with 16 rebounds.

NBA Fantasy Weekend Leaders

This was an exciting weekend in the Fantasy NBA world. A couple of NBA players hit fantasy numbers that we have not seen the likes of this season. When a heavy hitter like that generates such huge numbers, it is essential to have that pick or you are immediately out of contention in your NBA Daily Fantasy Tournament. Sometimes its just luck, but keep in mind, even though a player has not been hitting huge numbers recently, if he is the key man on a team, he always has potential to generate some big fantasy value.

Damian Lillard started things off on Friday with a huge game that led to a big win over the Warriors. He was hot from the outside shooting 9 for 12 from the three point line, racking up a total of 51 game points. He added on to that 7 assists and 6 steals for a total of 52 fantasy points, a rare occurrence of a player breaking that 50 point barrier.

However, he was not the only one to put up big numbers on Friday. Demarcus Cousins put up 49 fantasy points of his own as the Kings won against the Nuggets. While Lillard generated his value with threes, Cousins did so in the paint putting up 37 points with 20 rebounds for a huge double double.

Russell Westbrook provided similar value, but in a different way than each of the other two. He only scored 23 game points but he matched that with 18 assists on his way to a total of 42 fantasy points. If you just happened to put these three players in the same lineup, chances are you were in the money no matter who you picked at the rest of your positions.

For the rest of thew weekend only one player was able to exceed that 40 point barrier on each day. On Saturday that player was Hassan Whiteside for a big win for the Heat over the Wizards. Whiteside had a similar game to Cousins the day before. He had a big double double with points and rebounds putting up 25 game points and 23 rebounds. All in all he had 42.5 fantasy points.

But the real show happened on Sunday as Anthony Davis racked up the largest fantasy point total of any player so far this season and became the first player to break the 60 fantasy point barrier. He was 24 for 34 from inside the arch putting up a total of 59 game points out of his teams total 111 points for the day. Additionally, he had 4 assists and 20 rebounds for his groundbreaking total of 66.5 fantasy points. The next closest from this season was Draymond Green when he put up 56.5 fantasy points with a triple double on January 2nd.

Utah Jazz vs Portland Trail Blazers

Daily Fantasy Basketball News – 02-21-16

The Utah Jazz (27-27) will battle the Portland Trail Blazers (28-27) at the Moda Center this Sunday evening. FanPicks has this game on tap for tonight’s DFS action. Come play some Fantasy Basketball at Fanpicks.com

Projected Lineup

Fantasy Basketball

Utah has been one of the most solid teams in the NBA despite their 2 game losing streak after the league’s All-Star break. In fact, the Jazz have won 8 of their last 10 games while also holding opponents to one of the lowest total pts in the league. The only real issues they have to fix before playoffs are their offense and road issues. They’re currently 9-17 away from the Vivint Smart Home Arena and rank in the bottom 5 in terms of pts scored and assists. Their obvious strength lies in their defense, allowing just 96 pts per game and ranked 2nd in the league in pts allowed.
The Trail Blazers are also one of the hottest teams in the league right now, not only because they’ve won 9 of their last 10 games but have been beating top competition lately. That culminated on Friday when the defending champion, Golden State Warriors lost by 32 points against them. Damian Lillard dropped a career high 51 pts and it helped them take the 8th seed right in front of the Jazz. This game is extremely important for both teams, as the winner will be sitting in the 8th seed and will have the upper hand in terms of tiebreaker situation.

Fantasy basketball The Clippers are playing their best basketball of the season and it’s coming at a rather strange time. They lost Blake Griffin last month to a quad injury and have been winning non-stop since. In fact, the Clippers come into this game in the midst of a season-long six-game winning streak. The team has opted to go to small-ball and everyone is performing better because of it. The most encouraging part about that recent six-game winning streak is that the defense is playing far better than before. It’s scary to think that Griffin is due back soon and this team will ultimately improve.

The Blazers have also been playing without one of their best players recently and also playing better without him. The Trail Blazers had won four of their last five games before Damian Lillard returned for their last game, in which they lost to the Memphis Grizzlies. Lillard really struggled there as his stroke was off and he committed seven turnovers in the loss. It’s bizarre that this team is playing better without Lillard and the only direct correlation is the team’s defense when he’s in the lineup. In any case, Lillard is still one of the elite point guards in the NBA and they are surely a better team with him in the lineup than out of it. What Portland has been thriving off of this season is their surprising rebounding, as they rank fifth in rebounds per game. This should be a close game, as the Clippers come into this matchup as a four-point favorite.
