Buddy Hield really made this NCAA March Madness Tournament into a personal highlight reel and the stage will get bigger tonight when he will lead the Sooners to their 1st Final Four in 14 years against the Villanova Wildcats in Houston. Hield, scored 37 points in the Elite 8 victory over Oregon last weekend, and currently averages 29.3 pts with a 56.7 shooting percentage this NCAA tournament.
The Wildcats’ coach Jay Wright knows the threat Hield poses for his team and is well aware that the Sooners will have a sixth man with the crowd, as Oklahoma’s campus isn’t so far from Houston. But after kicking the nation’s # 1 team Kansas last week, he feels his squad heads into this game with extreme confidence. The two teams already met earlier this season but it was another story as some of their players were very inexperienced and struggled from the field. Their starters combined for 1 of 16 from the 3 pt range however have a 42.6 percent from beyond the arc in the tournament. We were an inexperienced team and it really showed, so I think we are a much more experienced team now.” That trio combined to go 1-of-16 from 3-point range against Oklahoma, but have posted a collective 42.6 percent mark from beyond the arc in the tournament.
On the Sooners side, Buddy Hield should have a tremendous game and will be helped by guard Jordan Woodard. Woodard is averaging 16.8 pts per game while Cousins has been struggling with only 13 pts in the past 2 games. With Hield hitting the triples against Oregon and taking at least 10 shots beyond the arc. The Wildcats will definitely need to be on their game early since the Sooners have outscored their opponents by 14.3 on average in the 1st half.
NHL Fantasy Hockey News Senator vs Flyers
Dominate your competition with our NHL Fantasy Hockey News, create the winning lineup at Fanpicks.com. The Ottawa Senators and Philadelphia Flyers have separated wins in both games this season at Canadian Tire Centre. Senators goalie Craig Anderson made 36 saves in a 4-0 victory Nov. 21. Center Sean Couturier had one goal and two assists in a 4-2 Flyers win Dec. 1.
Ottawa did not practice Friday. Forward Mark Stone won’t play Saturday, but could return to the lineup next week. Stone sustained a chest injury March 30 against the Winnipeg Jets.
Philadelphia captain Claude Giroux did not practice on Friday. He was the only player missing from what could have been the Flyers’ final full practice of the season. Beginning Saturday they’ll play their final six regular-season games in nine days, with three sets of back-to-back match-ups. Goaltender Ray Emery was signed to a contract for the remainder of the season Friday, but Emery must go through waivers before he can officially join the squad since he played in Europe earlier this year.
The Senators are Emery’s first NHL team. This confrontation will be without too much of importance for the Sens, as they are out of playoffs contention. It’s unlikely the Flyers will take them lightly though. They have won two straight, including a 3-2 defeat of the Minnesota Wild on Thursday.
March Madness Final Four preview
Syracuse Orange vs North Carolina Tar Heels
The Tar Heels are the only top seed in the nation standing in the Final Four and are heading into this record breaking 19th time to the last 4 of the NCAA tournament. They will face their ACC Conference rivals Syracuse Orange for the 3rd time this season, a team that are in a cinderellas story of a NCAA tournament at the NRG stadium in Houston. FanPicks is proud to bring you this March Madness Final Four preview. Come enjoy our March Madness Fantasy contests at Fanpicks with over 5 MILLION dollars in prizes for the NCAA TOURNAMENT.
The Tar Heels seniors Brice Johnson and Marcus Paige lead their team that is averaging 89.3 pts per game in the tournament and winning on average by margins of 16 pts. They’re on a 9 game winning streak now and are currently playing the best basketball full of confidence and looking like champions. On another hand, their opponents had lost 5 of 6 gamens entering the NCAA Tournament but really are playing their best basketball at the moment and are only one victory away from the final. They seem to stick together and believe in themselves.
Syracuse come into this game having won their only NCAA Tournament in 2003. Their squad is full of talented young players mixed with a few veterans but their Hall of Fame coach Jim Boeheim is a big reason why they’re there. Their senior Michael Gbinije leads the team in scoring with 17.6 pts and has 91 3-pointers this season. His consistency has helped the team a lot as he records double figures in points 37 straight games at least 20 pts in 4 of the last 6 games. Their freshman Malachi Richardson stepped up his level too and had a season high of 23 pts 68-61 in the Elite 8 over Virginia. Their teammate Tyler Lydon, which averages 10.2 pts per game is a huge threat. g a season high-matching 23 points in the 68-62 Elite Eight victory over Virginia, and fellow freshman Tyler Lydon (10.2 points overall) is also a threat.
The Tar Heels’ Hall of Fame coach, Roy Williams began their winning streak with a 75-70 win over Syracuse on Feb. 29. Brice Johnson, North Carolina’s main weapon averages 21 pts, 9.8 rebounds and shot an incredible 63% from the field in the first 4 rounds. The 6’10” All American has the school record for 23 double doubles this season and is the first Tar Heel to have 20 pts and 10 boards in 3 consecutives NCAA Tournament games.
NHL Daily Fantasy Hockey News Penguins vs Islanders
Dominate your competition with our NHL Daily Fantasy Hockey News, create the winning lineup at Fanpicks.com. The Pittsburgh Penguins have won two of the first three match-up against the New York Islanders this season, including a 2-1 shootout win March 15. Penguins defenseman Kris Letang scored in the shootout after forward Chris Kunitz and Islanders forward Kyle Okposo both put one in the net in regulation.
Pittsburgh will attempt to solidify its hold on second place in the Metropolitan Division with a 10th victory versus a division opponent in its past 13 attempts (9-3-0). The Penguins enter Saturday one point ahead of the New York Rangers, who play the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday, with five games to play. Defenseman Brian Dumoulin, who practiced Friday, could return after missing three games because of an upper-body injury. Trevor Daley, Dumoulin’s partner before the injury, has replaced Olli Maatta, who is week-to-week because of a lower-body injury, next to Kris Letang. That pair has impressed in Dumoulin’s absence and likely will stay intact until Maatta returns. Forward Bryan Rust is day-to-day because of a lower-body injury and did not practice on Friday. Sullivan said Maatta and Rust are slowly progressing but aren’t set to play yet. Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury was given a maintenance day Friday and could be replaced by goalie Matthew Murray against the Islanders or the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday.
A regulation victory could pull New York to within one point of second place in the division if the Rangers lose to the Sabres. Given that scenario, the Islanders would control their own fate moving forward with one game in hand on the Penguins and Rangers. The Islanders will play the remainder of the regular season without defenseman Travis Hamonic, who sustained a lower-body injury during the first period of a 4-3 win facing the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday. Islanders coach Jack Capuano announced Friday the injury would force Hamonic to miss the rest of the regular season. Hamonic’s status will be re-evaluated after the regular season, when his availability for the playoffs will be determined. Defenseman Marek Zidlicky is expected to be inserted back into the lineup after last playing March 6 because of an upper-body injury. Rookie defenseman Ryan Pulock, who has played 10 games, gives New York another option, but Capuano said he would favor experience when evaluating defensive pairings.
Fantasy NBA Basketball Preview
Boston Celtics vs Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors are looking for win number 37 coming into this matchup. They’re right around making history with just a few wins to becoming the NBA’s best ever team. Not only they’re coming into this game off a huge victory in their latest game against the Utah Jazz on the road but are overcoming fatigue and intense pressure. They ended up besting the Utah Jazz in the back of a back to back set of games especially going into overtime. What will be difficult for the Warriors despite getting that record amount of wins, is keeping that form into the playoffs to defend their title. Golden State, on a 6 game winning streak right now will be big favorites for this game and it wouldn’t be surprising to see Steve Kerr resting some of his top players in the 4th quarter.
The Celtics head into this game having won 4 out of their last 6 games and on a mission to remain in playoffs. They’re hoping to finish anywhere between 3rd and 6th in the East, currently sitting in 4th. Jae Crowder is back in the lineup and back from injury. He’s one of the most undervalued players in the NBA. But what’s impressive of Boston is their teamwork. They rank surprisingly in the top 6 in the NBA in points scored, boards per game and assist per game.
NBA Fantasy Basketball News 76ers vs Hornets

The Philadelphia 76ers (9-66) make their way to Time Warner Cable Arena for the second of back-to-back match-up with the Charlotte Hornets (43-31).
The 76ers fell to the visiting Hornets on Tuesday night, 100-85, their 10th consecutive defeat. Robert Covington led the squad in scoring with 18 points, hauling in 7 rebounds while shooting 6 of 16 from the field and 6 of 14 from field goal range. Covington recorded 3 steals in the loss and is second on the team in steals on the season, averaging 1.6 per match up. Nik Stauskas came off the bench to score 13 points, 3 rebounds and a pair of triples, while Ish Smith provided 15 points, 6 assists and 3 boards, going 6 of 17 from the paint and 3 of 8 from long range. Hollis Thompson recorded 10 boards to add to his 8 points as Philadelphia is poised to finish their season with the worst record in the league. With seven contests remaining on their schedule, the Sixers will have to tend with the likes of the Pacers, Raptors and Bulls if they hope to etch their 10th win.
The Hornets shot 43.7% from field goal range and 28% from deep in their 100-85 road victory over the 76ers on Tuesday, helping to keep the club in play in the Eastern Conference mid-seed log jam. Winners of four of their last five outings, the team was topped by Nicolas Batum who posted a triple-double, his second of the season and sixth of his career, with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists. Batum is the second-leading attacking threat for Charlotte, averaging 15.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.8 dimes over 65 games played. Cody Zeller had a double-double on the back of an 18-point, 11-board performance, shooting 7 of 8 from the field and 4 of 4 from the paint, while Kemba Walker recorded 16 points, 5 rebounds and 3 triples. The Hornets are in sixth place in the East but control their own destiny, capable of reaching as high as third seed as they join both the Celtics and Heat at nine games behind the first place Cavaliers.

Boston Celtics vs Portland Trail Blazers
NBA Fantasy Basketball preview
Two teams battling for their playoffs will meet up tonight at the Moda Center in Portland when the Boston Celtics visit the Portland Trail Blazers in what should be a great showdown. FanPicks is proud to bring you this NBA Fantasy Basketball preview. Come play in our NBA Magic Million contest where you can win up to a $1 million this week at FanPicks.
The Trail Blazers are playing very well and have won 3 of their last 4 games. Their intensity is growing as they’re battling to stay into the playoffs. They’re currently sitting in the 6th spot in the Western Conference but are only 2 games up from the 9th place Dallas Mavericks. This season had a lot of ups rather than downs and they can see this campaign as a success, as they were a projected lottery team who’s game exceeds expectations. The Trail Blazers can look very bright in the figure as this team is full of talented young stars who can carry this team very far. This game will be tight as the Celtics are in the same boat and in a 3 way tie to remain in the playoffs.
The Celtics as well have been playing stellar lately having lost only one of their last five games. Even though the wins came against extremely weak opponents such as the Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns and last place 76ers, a win is a win and they need to be taken into consideration though. The Celtics are fighting for their tough playoff spot in the Eastern Conference where being in 3rd place one day means you can be in 6th the next. It’s extremely tight and they will need to focus and dig deep to beat the Trail Blazers on their home court. Jae Crowder has been practicing with the squad and may be back with this game. He’s a great defensive players as well as an offensive weapon for the Celtics.
NBA Fantasy Prediction
Los Angeles Clippers vs Oklahoma City Thunder
The Oklahoma City Thunder have only dropped one single game in their last 9 contests and with their big guys averaging near triple double digits every time. Their star, Russell Westbrook has 16 triple-doubles this campaign and leads the league in that department. He’s currently playing ball on an MVP level while his offensive partner in crime, Kevin Durant is averaging 27 pts the last 10 games with 8.3 boards and 6.9 assists. If the Thunder keep on playing this way, they will make things very interesting in the Western Conference playoffs, especially if they fall against the Spurs or the Warriors. This game is against one of their toughest opponents in the league but most importantly in the West but a Clippers team without their star will see Oklahoma City a huge favorite in this one.
The Clippers seem to have found their form lately and are coming into this matchup on a 4 game winning streak. This game will be another story as the coach decided to rest his big stars Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan and J.J. Redick against OKC. It will be a good test for their bench and Jamal Crawford but against a hot Thunder team like that, this will potentially be a blowout. With the Western conference playoffs positions close to being set, this rest is simply because the Clippers are ahead of 5th place Memphis Grizzlies by 6.5 games and sitting 4.5 games behind the Thunder.
Fantasy Basketball Cash Draft Nuggets vs Pelicans
Dominate your competition with our Fantasy Basketball Cash Draft, create the winning lineup at Fanpicks.com. The Denver Nuggets (32-4) travel to Louisiana to face the New Orleans Pelicans (27-47) at Smoothie King Center.
The Nuggets come into this game victorious in three of their last five and the most recent win over the Memphis Grizzlies secured a winning month of March. That’s the first month over the .500 record line that this team has had all season and it shows how much they have grown. Youngsters like Emmanuel Mudiay and Nikola Jokic are both especially talented and may be two of the five best rookies in the league this season.
All the talk in New Orleans is about how they are a cursed franchise and there may be some reality to that with the injuries they have suffered. They are now without Anthony Davis, Ryan Anderson, Jrue Holiday, Tyreke Evans and Norris Cole for the rest of the season. All of these players have had injury question marks in the past though, so it may not be a matter of luck as much as it’s substandard management. Having this many injury prone players on one roster is too risky and this sort of year shows the worst case scenario. With how shorthanded the Pelicans are, look for them to be a small underdog in this confrontation.

NBA Cash Draft Magic vs Pacers
Dominate your competition with our NBA Cash Draft, create the winning lineup at Fanpicks.com. The Orlando Magic (31-43) and Indiana Pacers (39-35) face off at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
Although their playoffs hopes have long since faded, the Magic are still playing for respect, shrugging off a six-game skid to win their last two games, the most recent a Tuesday night drubbing of the visiting Brooklyn Nets, 139-105. Andrew Nicholson led the team in the victory, dropping 24 points and taking in 3 rebounds, shooting a perfect 9 of 9 from the paint and 3 of 3 from beyond the arc. Aaron Gordon contributed 20 points and 4 boards, shooting 9 of 11 from field goal range, while Elfrid Payton got the start and finished the evening with 11 points and 12 dimes for the double-double. With 9 points and 6.5 boards per match-up this year, Gordon has played in all but one of Orlando’s games in their disappointing campaign, and ranks third on the team in rebounds behind ex-teammate Tobias Harris and the injured Nikola Vucevic. The Magic are mired in the 11th place in the Eastern Conference, eight games out of a postseason position.
The Pacers have gone 5-5 in their past ten games, and can ill-afford to drop another game with their Playoff seeding in the balance, this after losing to visiting Central Division rivals the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night, 98-96. Paul George did his best to lift up the team, putting 20 points on the board, while hauling in 9 rebounds and facilitating 5 assists. He went 7 of 16 from the paint in the process. Ian Mahinmi posted 18 points and 7 rebounds, shooting 9 of 12 from field goal range, while C.J. Miles came off the bench to finish with 7 points. The Indiana collective shot an abysmal 15.8% from far, where they average 34.7% on the season. The squad now find themselves in eighth place in the East, two games ahead of the ninth place Chicago Bulls. With eight games remaining to the regular season, the Pacers will play four games on home court and four on the road, where they have a 16-21 record.

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks
Dominate your competition with our NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks, create the winning lineup at Fanpicks.com. Quicken Loans Arena hosts the gamet between the Brooklyn Nets (21-53) and Cleveland Cavaliers (52-22).
Brooklyn’s current road jaunt hasn’t gotten off to a great start as the team has lost two straight away from home, getting routed 139-105 by the Orlando Magic on Tuesday night. Thomas Robinson topped the Nets in scoring with 18 points, hauling in 12 rebounds for the double-double and going 8 of 13 from field goal range. Wayne Ellington came off the bench for and scored 12 points and a pair of rebounds, going 4 of 10 from the paint and 3 of 5 from beyond the arc. Fellow reservists Sean Kilpatrick and Markel Brown both put up 11 points, with Kilpatrick adding 3 assists and 2 steals and Brown facilitating 5 assists. Kilpatrick has put up double digits in in 10 consecutive contests and is averaging 13.1 points and 1.8 rebounds over his 15 games played this season. The Nets are sitting at 14th place in the Eastern Conference and have eight games left in their 2015-16 campaign, with visits scheduled against playoffs contenders the Wizards, Hornets and Pacers.
The sputtering Cavaliers have traded a series of victories and defeats in their last few outings, their latest result a 106-100 home court loss to the Houston Rockets on Tuesday night. In a match-up during which LeBron James was being rested in preparation for the Playoffs, Kyrie Irving recorded a team-leading 31 points and 8 assists, going 5 of 11 from long range and 8 of 9 from the free throw line. Tristan Thompson came off the pine for a double-double on the strength of a 16-point, 10-rebound performance, draining eight of his nine attempts from the foul line. Kevin Love had a double-double as well, with 13 points, 11 boards and a pair of three-pointers. Cleveland seems content to coast for the remainder of the season, sitting two-and-a-half games ahead of the Toronto Raptors in first place in the East.

Daily Fantasy Baseball 2016 Arizona DiamondBacks
FanPicks is getting ready for the upcoming daily fantasy baseball 2016 MLB season. Set your timer for April 3rd opening day. With over a million dollars to win this MLB season at FanPicks, it’s time for you to register right here, right now!
With two bold pitching acquisitions, the Diamondbacks turned themselves into a contender. The off-season signing of free agent ace Zack Greinke to a six-year, $206.5 million deal seemed to push another step forward in the right direction. Upper management also reinforced the rotation with right-hander Shelby Miller. With a powerful offense already in place, the D-backs will be a threat this year.
Player to watch:
- SP Zack Greinke
- SP Patrick Corbin
- 1B Paul Goldschmidt
Greinke was one the best available starters on the market this winter, and the D-backs’ five-hour contact-to-contract machinations on Dec. 4 were the no short of amazing. Greinke was “minutes,” he said, from signing with another club, that is believed to be the Los Angeles Dodgers, before the D-backs swooped in after managing partner Ken Kendrick included some deferred money to make the numbers work. Greinke was 51–15 with a 2.30 ERA in his three yeas with the Dodgers organization. Last year, he led the majors in ERA, WHIP and WAR, showing control of four pitches while going 19–3 with a 1.66 ERA.
Lefthander Patrick Corbin was an All-Star in 2013, but missed the entire 2014 season because of Tommy John surgery. He returned in the latter part of 2015 and showed signs of previous brilliance while blowing off the rust. On a strict pitch count, Corbin made five straight quality starts while throwing 85 pitches or fewer. He’s the first pitcher since Bryn Smith in 1988 accomplish that feat. Corbin was 5–2 with a 1.61 ERA in the nine starts last year, in which he performed for at least six innings.
First baseman Paul Goldschmidt is one of the finest player in baseball, a virtuoso in every step of the game. He is the foundation upon which the franchise is built, and he is signed and sealed through 2019.
Top 10 WRs
With the NFL Draft now less than a month away, I present to you my first edition of my top 10 positional rankings.
You will notice I have 12 players listed here, but that’s just in honor of the depth this draft class possesses at the receiver position. While there are no Calvin Johnson’s or Julio Jones’ in this group, there are more than a handful of legitimate prospects with the potential to become impact players at the next level.
Laquon Treadwell is the consensus number one, and though many will point to his stop watch time (4.65) with doubt, it’s his fluidity and game tape that put him in pole position.
Baylor’s Corey Coleman has been under heavy scrutiny for his apparent lack of overall skills. He ran a limited route-tree in college, so word of bad route-running and only possessing straight-line speed has surfaced. He also has drop issues, especially in the middle of the field. He ran a 4.37 at his Pro Day and scored 20 TDs through the first eight games of the 2015 season, so going deep is no issue. The issue is that he didn’t score any in the next four games and never came close to 100 yards again. If college teams can figure out how to shut him down, NFL defenses will without breaking a sweat. But if he lands with the right team, those same defenses will be sweating just watching the film on him.
Will Fuller also has the speed (4.32) but as one scout and former NFL receiver said “I hear the DeSean Jackson comparison and I can’t get there. DeSean was faster, tougher and more reliable than Fuller. I’m not saying Fuller can’t play, but I don’t think he’s DeSean.”
Josh Doctson is of a different mold. More of a possession type receiver with the ability to go up and snag the ball out of the air. The Minnesota Vikings seem really interested in what TCU product has to offer, as would he be a great compliment to their young receiving core. An immediate starting job on the outside seems to be in Doctson’s future.
Sterling Shepard rounds out my top five (for this edition anyway). The Sooner may leave something to be desired in terms of measurements, but definitely leaves nothing on the field in terms of effort. The 5’10 slot man not only comes with a ferocious hunger to make plays, but the talent to execute them. I see shades of Steve Smith all over this one.
