Preview: Clippers at Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans averaged 140 points while winning their first two games and look for another scoring splurge when they host the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday. The Pelicans scored 131 points in their season-opening pounding of the Houston Rockets and followed up with a franchise-record 149 in a rout of the Sacramento Kings.
Forward Nikola Mirotic is averaging 33 points and 9.5 rebounds while big man Anthony Davis is contributing 28.5 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists as New Orleans won its first two games by an average of 19.5 points. “We’ve been just playing fast, sharing the ball, playing very unselfish,” Mirotic told reporters. “I think we’re going to be big trouble for the rest of the teams.” The Clippers went 2-1 on a season-opening three-game homestand and are starting a stretch in which six of eight games are on the road. Los Angeles established a franchise record by making all 26 free throws during Sunday’s 115-112 win over the Houston Rockets.
TV: 8 p.m. ET, FS West (Los Angeles), FS New Orleans
ABOUT THE CLIPPERS (2-1): Rookie guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is displaying that he will be an immediate contributor as he reached double digits twice while averaging 8.3 points during the homestand. The 20-year-old had a solid all-around game in the win over the Rockets with 12 points, five rebounds and four assists and also is an asset on the defensive end. “We’re all composed and not fazed by the moment,” Gilgeous-Alexander told reporters. “I’m always really confident in myself. I know how hard I work and it pays off.”
ABOUT THE PELICANS (2-0): Mirotic is a scorching 11-of-17 from 3-point range and has tallied 30 or more points in both games, including a career-high 36 in the triumph over the Kings. “I had all of preseason to understand where I need to be, where are my best spots,” Mirotic told reporters, referencing his February arrival last season in a trade from the Chicago Bulls. “I think this is going to be a great year, but I want to be solid on both sides of the court. I know defensively I can step up, be better and rebound the ball. Those are my goals.” Davis registered double-doubles in both games and has made 21-of-33 shots from the field.
1. Davis averaged 29.8 points and 11.5 rebounds as the Pelicans went 3-1 against the Clippers last season.
2. Los Angeles F Danilo Gallinari has scored at least 20 points in consecutive games for the second time since joining the team last season.
3. New Orleans PF Julius Randle is averaging 19 points and 11 rebounds in his first two games since being signed as a free agent in the offseason.

Stephen Curry Injury Update
With the news that Stephen Curry has a sprained MCL and will be reevaluated in two weeks, this will likely shake up many predictions, assumptions and outcome of this year’s NBA Playoffs. Our writers at FanPicks put this article together to have more insights and implications on the Stephen Curry Injury Update situation.
Earlier today, the news broke out after Stephen Curry’s MRI that he would be unavailable for the next 2 weeks on the court. This is not a small story. Actually, it’s quite a shocker while Warriors’ fans and many NBA playoffs viewers would’ve loved to see him go 100% as the Warriors continue their march towards history.
Curry the league’s current MVP and best player is a victim of those ill-timed injuries that other top players like Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Garnett, Kyrie Irving and dozens of other huge names whose injuries clearly titled championship odds of their teams.
If this injury is prolonged, he will likely be less than a 100% on his return and facing teams like the Thunder or the Spurs will put their championship odds in serious jeopardy.
Many people may blame their physical fatigue in their quest to 73 regular season wins but in other circumstances, good for them and good call from Steve Kerr to rest his players for the playoffs like Gregg Popovich.
In this situation, sadly, injury prevention was actually not able to play a factor in this scary slip. A matter fact, it was surprising how so many people around the league, fans and his own players obviously, worried about Curry’s health.
No one wanted and wished to see this but this is what high level competition is about. The adversity and relentlessness of the Warriors will be tested from now on and Draymond Green will have to carry the team with some help from Klay Thompson and the solid Warriors’ core.
MLB Fantasy Baseball Preview
San Francisco Giants vs Los Angeles Dodgers
The San Francisco Giants made a few big offseason moves signing 3 free agents. This Sunday, Jeff Samardzija, the pitcher who signed a $90 million 5 year contract in December takes the mound for the Giants to finish off their 3 game series against Los Angeles Dodgers in the rubber match of the three-game series. This MLB Fantasy Baseball Preview of this game is brought you by FanPicks. Come play in our MLB Fantasy contests where you can win up to a $1 million this week at FanPicks.
The Giants’ other 2 big additions pitched yesterday to help their 3 game losing streak. Their center fielder Denard Span wast 1 of 4 and Johnny Cueto put in some work in the 8th inning in the 4-3 victory. Their reliever Sergio Romo is injured and won’t be available for the next several weeks while the Giants GM splits the current setup between Hunter Strickland and Josh Osich. L.A managed only 5 hits during Saturday’s loss. Adrian Gonzalez will be a solid source of power for the future.
Samardzija got his 1st win as a Giants on Tuesday when he allowed 2 over 8 innings in a 7-2 win against the Rockies. Chase Utley is 6 for 15 with an HR against the 2014 NL All-Star. He has a 1-2 record with a 4.91 ERA in 4 games against the Dodgers.
Maeda turned in his 2nd strong outing Tuesday by holding Arizona scoreless in 6 innings of play with only allowing 5 hits and striking out 4. Maeda still holds the longest streak in Dodgers’ history to begin a career with his 12 consecutive scoreless innings is the 4th longest in history to begin a career.

NBA Fantasy Basketball Prediction
Minnesota Timberwolves vs Sacramento Kings
Andrew Wiggins’ Timberwolves, back from their biggest victory of the year will travel West to face the host Sacramento Kings at Sleep Train Arena this Thursday. This NBA Fantasy Basketball prediction is brought you by FanPicks.com. Come PLAY in our Daily Fantasy Basketball contests at FanPicks and get a free chance to win $1 Million dollars!
Sacramento is really on a up and down hill all year having not been capable to get 2 straight wins in a month span now. It’s to understand where the team is headed. Their leader DeMarcus Cousins has been relegated to playing only in home games in one of the strangest developments this season. That strange development is really what makes the organization so dysfunctional and unpredictable. Their real issue is their defense as they’re dead last in points allowed per game nearly this whole campaign. For them, this is a winnable game but the T-Wolves have shown what their enormous potential can do to big teams 2 days ago when they upset the Warriors in Oakland.
Minnesota have lost 3 of their last 3 games but come into this game off their biggest win of the season. Not only they defeated the reigning NBA champions, Golden State Warriors on the road and were a 15-point easy underdog, but have really shown what their potential talent is all about. With youngsters on their squad like Andrew Wiggins, Karl-Anthony Towns, Shabazz Muhammad and Zach LaVine, the sky is limit for their future. A great sign as well is that all of their young guns made big contributions in the win against the Warriors. They simply showed the NBA just how fearful this team will be in the years to come, as well as a danger for the Sacramento Kings.

Daily Fantasy Targets
FanPicks presents our daily fantasy targets once again. Important note: This isn’t necessarily an optimal lineup for you to use (though we do quite well), but rather Value Picks and Targets that could help put you over the top of your DFS contest. In order to win your daily fantasy contest you need to maximize your spending and get the right formula for victory. As you can see I still have a healthy $400 leftover, so use this roster as a fantasy aid to help land your desired athletes.
For example: While I think that T.J. Oshie could be in line for a good game tonight, the point of this lineup is to target the value picks and potential surprising performers so I’m suggesting the Canadiens Dale Weise and Bruins Brett Connolly on the Right Wing.
- Let’s take a look at the rest of my targets today.
Alex Ovechkin is the lone superstar of the lineup and is a must-play, but Filip Forsberg is no slouch. The second best player in my lineup has been on a tear, and definitely holds his own star power. The Canadiens goaltending is subpar, so Forsberg could make the most of his opportunities.
Weise is rumoured to be on the trade block for the soon-to-be seller Montreal Canadiens, so a bump up to the first line in a showcase isn’t shocking. Sven Andrighetto could earn his place back on Lars Eller and Max Pacioretty‘s wing, but Weise will begin there and has a chance to produce. He scored last game and has 14 goals on the year.
The same philosophy stands for Brett Connolly. While he isn’t necessarily on the trade block, he does have great linemates in Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron. Marchand is 3rd in NHL even-strength goals and rolling at the moment, so Connolly should have a safe floor with some upside.
Mike Ribeiro returns to his former, and hometown Montreal Canadiens tonight. Since being paired together Forsberg has been dominant, so stacking this duo could prove fruitful.
Robby Fabbri comes as cheap as $3400 in some leagues, and has 8 points in his last 9 games. Alex Steen just went on the IR. More ice-time=more points for the talented young Blue.
Speaking of talented young Blues, Colton Parayko seems like a must-start every night. The hulking 22-year-old has 4 points in his last 3 games and continues to fill in gracefully for the injured anchor Alex Pietrangelo.
I think Andrei Markov is going to have a multi-point night, so play him if you can afford it. In this case I couldn’t so I went with the more youthful of Canadiens defenders, Nathan Beaulieu. Beaulieu is a fine talent on the backend, a terrific skater with poise and a solid defensive game. But he is still developing so inconsistency is his biggest issue. That being said, home games are when you should play him. When he gets the matchup he needs he has the opportunity to carry the puck up ice and make plays offensively. On the road he gets stuck in tough situations and needs to remain safe more often than not. The Predators like to active their D (Weber, Josi, Ellis, Ekholm), so expect the Habs to mirror that with PK Subban, Markov and Beaulieu.
In goal, likely MVP Brayden Holtby was my numero uno selection as he has a great matchup and is just too good this season. He’s fresh and ready to to go. The cheaper option here was Boston’s Jonas Gustavsson. He is 10-4-1 this season, and the visiting Blue Jackets are a good matchup (3rd worst in NHL) for the Bruins backup goaltender.
Daily Fantasy Picks
With four evening games left on the NHL schedule tonight, many of you are scrambling to make your daily fantasy picks. In this edition, every player is on a hot streak (okay, except for one). Let’s see what kind of daily fantasy hockey team that afforded me to put together.
- My roster
I immediately went gunning for Rickard Rakell and Tyler Johnson (the exception). Rakell has 4 points his his last 3 games, and while Johnson was hurt and hasn’t been producing much, he is playing with Nikita Kucherov and Ondrej Palat. The Tampa trio was arguably the NHL’s best last season and Johnson should be getting back into game shape just about now.
David Perron has been a whole new player since being traded to the Ducks half a dozen weeks back. He has 5 points in his last 5 games and looks great next to Ryan Getzlaf. I didn’t necessarily intend to stack Rakell and Perron but Anaheim is the NHL’s best team since the All-Star break and should keep it going tonight.
Speaking of Ducks, Sami Vatanen made my lineup again. He can easily reach double digits with a solid effort, and rarely has a real off night. His price tag and production just always seem to be the perfect fit for my squads so here’s to the Anaheim powerplay!
TJ Brodie was a consolation prize of sorts. I originally had the much cheaper 19-year-old Noah Hanifin pegged there, but with some extra loot left over I had to take the Calgary star. Brodie has been an unheralded stud for a couple of seasons now, and is in the midst of a nice stretch at the moment.
Johnny Gaudreau has 5 points in his last 3 contests, while Jarome Iginla looks rejuvenated for a late-season push with the Avalanche. Iggy’s been lighting the lamp regularly again.
Cam Ward is getting the nod for the Hurricanes and has been excellent lately. He himself has seen a resurgence and looks to have restored some confidence and ability to stop pucks. Ward should be a safe play.
Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks
With the NBA trade deadline passing, and the schedule coming back from hiatus, FanPicks.com presents to you our first edition of daily fantasy basketball picks. You can try this roster, or just take some value pick targets out of this, it’s up to you!
- My roster
I went with the most successful basketball technique known to date…a “big three”. Derrick Rose, Chris Paul and Lebron James will lead this lineup into battle tonight.
“Bron-Bron” vs “D. Rose” is always a delight, and tonight will be no different. With so much time off, these big guns are well rested and ready to put on a show.
I expect Doug McDermott to be a major beneficiary of Rose’s play, same can be said for Bobby Portis except he creates many of his own chances as well.
Lebron will have a monster game, but it’s Tristan Thompson on the inside that I’m banking on. If the versatile big-man can keep pace with his teammates (James and Irving – who is on fire) that slot in your lineup will get a major boost in value.
Wesley Johnson, Danny Green and Patty Mills will be running the court when the Spurs taken on the Clippers in a late night showdown. Green and Mills will need a big game to counter CP3, Johnson and co. if they want to defeat a Clippers team they’ve had trouble with over the past year.
Fantasy Baseball Best Picks of the Day – September 29th 2015
There are sparks flying everywhere in the MLB, as we inch closer to post-season’s daily fantasy sports contests. Tension is in the air in California. Both San Francisco and Los Angeles are vying for the N.L. west top spot. They will play their 2nd game of a 4 games series. Giants are sending their ace Madison Bumgarner to the mound, but the Dodgers respond with their own all-star, Clayton Kershaw. A win for the Dodgers allows them to clinch a playoff entry. Also on the bracket is the N.L. central division matchup between St-Louis and Pittsburgh. The Cards will try to claim the title for the third straight year with a win over the Pirates today. Can you feel the heat, because these are the fantasy hot picks:
P Madison Bumgarner – San Francisco Giants
Season: 18 W, 8 L, 2.88 ERA, 228 Ks, 38 BBs
Bumgarner won against Kershaw twice this season. After losing his last two starts, he’ll look for redemption and the chance to keep his team’s playoff hopes alive. The lefty will also pitch at home where he holds a 1.80 ERA. A crowd cheering for him is all the motivation he’s going to need to win.
C Carlos Perez – Los Angeles Angels
Season: .248 AVG, 3 HRs, 18 RBIs, 16 Runs, 2 SBs
The L.A. Angels are in the middle of a battle with the Houston Astros for top spot in the A.L. west. They need contribution from all their players. Perez has been doing his part, hitting .444 in his last 8 games.
1B Adam Lind – Milwaukee Brewers
Season: .284 AVG, 20 HRs, 86 RBIs, 70 Runs
The Brewers will introduce minor league pitcher of the year Jorge Lopez to the MLB. Given that he’s the future hope of a struggling Milwaukee team, the squad will need to step up their game. Adam Lind is having a pretty good season. The 32 years-old also has Tyson Ross number. He’s batting a career .833 with 1 home run and 3 RBI’s in 6 at-bats against the righty.
2B Andres Blanco – Philadelphia Phillies
Season: .287 AVG, 6 HRs, 23 RBIs, 29 Runs
He has shown that you don’t need to be in a bad team to perform well. The Venezuelan had a game winning homer on Sunday against the Nats. It came the inning after an altercation in the Washington dugout between Bryce Harper and Jonathan Papelbon. Blanco knows how to take up on opportunities when they presents themselves.
3B David Freese – Los Angeles Angels
Season: .257 AVG, 13 HRs, 53 RBIs, 49 Runs, 1 SB
Freese had back-to back dingers over the weekend. It shows that from top to bottom of the Angels lineup, everybody is contributing for the playoff push. The 2011 World Series MVP knows how to win when it matter.
SS Alexei Ramirez – Chicago White Sox
Season: .249 AVG, 10 HRs, 60 RBIs, 54 Runs, 17 SBs
He was not in the lineup for Sunday’s matchup against the Yankees. This gave him a two day rest before his team meets up with the Royals in a three game home stand. He will face Johnny Cueto today, and that is no problem for him. The Cuban is averaging .750 with 1 home run in 8 at-bats against Cueto.
OF Carlos Beltran – New York Yankees
Season: .275 AVG, 18 HRs, 63 RBIs, 53 Runs
The Yankees are facing their eternal rivals Red Sox. The Yankees lost the first one. They will need to rebound so that they can get closer to a post-season entry. If all goes well today, Beltran should have plenty of fantasy points at cleanup.
OF Charlie Blackmon – Colorado Rockies
Season: .290 AVG, 17 HRs, 56 RBIs, 90 Runs, 41 SBs
The man with the beard just closed out a terrific series against the Dodgers. He had 4 hits including a triple and a home run, while scoring one run or more in every game. Now, it’s time for him to show what he can do against the Diamondbacks.
OF A. J. Pollock – Arizona Diamondbacks
Season: .317 AVG, 19 HRs, 75 RBIs, 106 Runs, 37 SBs
Pollock is having a tremendous season for the D-Backs. He will have no problem elevating those numbers today, as he faces off against Colorado’s Christian Bergman. He has 4 hits in 7 at-bats against him.

Strong Team Picks after the All-Star Break
The MLB season is separated by two parts- before the all-star break and after the all-star break. They are two distinctly different parts of the season and team management and player strategy depend greatly on where the team stands at each portion of the season. Every year we see leading teams going into the break completely out of contention by the playoffs and lagging teams making a strong rise after the break.
Often teams post-break performance is related to the high volume of trades that occur after the break. This year was no different in that aspect. Since MLB Daily Fantasy contests player performances are very much a function of synergistic team performances, through runs and RBIs, it is important to consider team aspects when making your Draft Picks. Here are team trends on the biggest movers and losers since the break.
The Philadelphia Phillies have been on a roll since the break, despite trading off top pitcher Cole Hamels as well as one of their left fielder, Ben Revere. Although they remain last in the NL East with a record of 41 wins, 65 losses, they have won 8 of their last 10 with high scoring games. Look to pick up hitters from the Phillies as they win their games with an aggressive offensive attack, rather than strong pitching. Furthermore their hitters typically come at a bargain making them goo d value picks with the right matchup.
The Washington Nationals are on an opposite trend lately. They still hold on to a winning record of 54 wins, 49 losses but they have lost 7 of their last 10. They are currently in the lead of the NL East but the Mets are on their tails after sweeping the series against the Nationals. The Nationals can’t even blame it on the trades as they have worked to acquire strong players since the break. Be cautious about splurging on this normally potent offense to see if they can turn aroud this trend.
The Diamondbacks are down in the NL West but the hopes to make the playoffs are still alive as they are only 5 games out of the wildcard spot. They have won 7 of their last 10 rallying back after a serious losing streak prior to the break. They currently have a record of 50 wins, 53 losses and are 4th in the NL West.
Also making moves in this division are the San Diego Padres who are one game up on the Diamondbacks right now, putting them just 4 games out of the wildcard spot. Like Arizona, they have won 7 of their last 10 games. However, they will need to surpass the Mets or Nationals if they are to get one of those wildcard spots.
Moving on to the American League, the Angels have had a poor showing, moving out of the lead of the AL West since the break. They still hold a winning record of 55 wins, 49 losses but have won only 1 game of their last 10 and have lost their last 6. Furthermore, their star Mike Trout has struggled since returning from a slight injury scare. The Angels have been very active in their trading and looks like they hope to turn things around. For now, I would stay away from these draft picks in any MLB cash draft.
The Twins have seen similar struggles since the break. They have lost 7 of their last 10 and are going into a tough series against the Blue Jays. They are still 2nd in the AL Central with 54 wins and 51 losses but the Tigers and White Sox are hot on their heels. Their all star hitter, Dozier has hit a couple homers over the past 10 games but otherwise has failed to make contact with the ball.
The White Sox, despite selling off some players, are on a 7/3 streak including the series against the strong New York Yankees. Those wild card spots are up for grabs for anyone in the American league and Chicago’s southern team looks to be a contender. Their heavy hitters have been productive lately through the likes of Eaton, Laroche, and Cabrera and they have a strong series on starters including Chris Sale and Jose Quintana. Due to a weak pre-break showing, these hitters will usually come at a bargain and look to be nice value picks in one-day tournaments moving forward.
Arizona D-Backs vs Washington Nationals 8-04-15
The Arizona D-Backs are visiting the Washington National for the 2nd of a 4 Fantasy Baseball game series at 7pm tonight. Let’s start with some One Day Cash Draft team analysis:
The D-Backs (51-53) may miss the playoffs for the 4th year in a row, but they are currently making a big push toward the N.L. wild card playoff spot. They won 7 out of their last 9 games and are looking for their second win against the Nats this week. The pitching hasn’t been good this season. Their pitchers allowed 117 homers, 2nd worst in the National League. Despite that, they possess the league’s 3rd best batting average on the road with .260. They also have some great base running with a team total of 91 this season.
The Nats (54-50) are in a battle with the Mets for top spot in the National League East. Washington just got swept by New York and they are now looking to bounceback from this against the DiamondBacks. The offensive talent of the Nats was absent last month. They had a total of 165 hits, the worst in the MLB, and scored 78 points, 3rd worst in the league, during all the month of July. The pitching has carried the team allowing 192 hits during the same month and gave up 84 HR over the year.
Fired Up Fantasy Pickups:
C Welligton Castillo (ARI) : He knocked a HR in Monday’s game against the Nats. It raises his total to 5 over the last 6 game. Not bad for a catcher.
SS Nick Ahmed (ARI) : He went 4-for-4 with a HR in the first game of the series against Washington. In 4 games against them, he holds an batting of .500.
OF David Peralta (ARI) : The left fielder went 2-for-4 Monday against the Nats. He had a 2-run HR in the 4th inning. Peralta has a batting average of .435 over the last 6 games.
OF A.J. Pollock (ARI) : He is one of two players in the majors to steal over 20 bases and hold a batting average over .300 this season. The center fielder is 2nd for most run scored in the National League with 68, one behind the next one on our list.
OF Bryce Harper (WAS) : The right fielder is first in the N.L. leaderboard with 69 runs and 29 HR. He is batting .320 and collected 5 HR against lefties this season.
SP Max Scherzer (WAS) : The former D-Back has an 11-8 record with a 2.22 ERA and 172 SO over the course of this season. He earned the win in his last start against the Marlins, allowing no runs in 7 strong innings.
Hit the showers :
C Wilson Ramos (WAS) : Ramos was batting .261 one month ago, and it has now dropped to .235. Lack of Fantasy Value from the power hitting catcher.
SS Ian Desmond (WAS) : With a .217 batting average, 11 HR and 34 RBI’s, Desmond is on his way to the worst season of his career.
OF Jayson Werth (WAS) : The tall outfielder has has an hitting average of .181 since coming back from injury on July 28. He collected 2 HR in 34 games this season.
Fanpicks Top Performers 8-2-15
Now that the trade deadline has passed, we can look forward for an exciting end to the Fantasy Baseball season. There were 15 games played on Sunday. Here’s a look at those Fantasy Picks that made a big difference in your One Day Cash Draft league. This is your Daily Fantasy Sport top performer roundup:
P R.A. Dickey (6-10) shined against the Royals, allowing 2 hits and 2 walks in 7 inning win. He extended his streak to 20 2/3 scoreless innings. The arrival of P David Price (9-4) in the lineup will give Dickey less pressure, as he’s being bumped over in the rotation. It’s a situation that will suit him better in Cash Draft competitions. The Blue Jays (54-52) won 5-2 in an intense game against Kansas City (62-42).
In a game that saw both teams almost coming to blows, P Charlie Morton’s (7-4) performance couldn’t come unnoticed. In 7 innings of work, he allowed no runs and 5 hits with 7 strikeouts. The Pittsburgh (61-43) Pirates won 3-0 over the Cincinnati Reds (47-56).
P Jose Fernandez helped the Marlins to victory, despite him not getting the win on his resume. He had 10 K’s in 6 scoreless innings. CL A.J. Ramos blew it in the 9th giving up a HR, and stripping Fernandez of the win. In the end, Miami (43-62) avoided the sweep in a 5-2 win over San Diego (51-54).
Newly acquired, P Daniel Norris (2-1), came out clutch for the Tigers. He was the best prospect sent by the Blue Jays for former Cy-Young winner, P David Price. The lefty limited Baltimore to 1 run and 4 hits in 7 1/3 innings of work, his longest start in 7 games. He defeated the Orioles, a team who won 7 of their last 8 games before Sunday. It’s worth keeping an a eye on him over the next season, as his Fantasy Value will definitely rise. The Tigers (51-54) won 6-1 over the Orioles (53-51).
The Yankees (59-45) got a great performance out of SS Stephen Drew to cruise to a 12-3 victory over the White Sox (50-53). Drew put up 3 hits, 4 RBI’s and 2 runs for the A.L. East leaders. He came a HR shy of the cycle. P Ivan Nova (4-3) also came out strong in this one. The Dominican pitcher was pulled off early in his last game due to arm fatigue, but any concerns have now been thrown out the window. He allowed 5 hits and 1 run in 6 inning to register his 3rd straight win.
P Hisashi Iwakuma (2-2) gave up one critical HR in the 9th that allowed the Twins to tie it up and go to extra innings. Despite that, he ended with the best performance of the night giving up 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 8 batters. The Mariners were able to break the tie, scoring 3 points in the 11th. Seattle (48-58) takes it 4-1 over Minnesota (54-50).
P Martin Perez (1-2) registered his first victory since coming back from Tommy John surgery. He lasted 8 1/3 innings allowing 2 hits to San Francisco. The lone run he allowed didn’t come up until the 9th inning. It’s a nice rebound over his last start, when he gave up 8 ER in 1 inning of work. The Rangers (51-53) won 2-1 over the Giants (57-47).
The Dodgers (60-45) swept the series against the Angels (55-49) when they won 5-3 on Sunday. OF Andre Ethier, who went without a HR during all the month of July, smacked 2 homers in the last 3 innings of the game, and the last one was the walk-off winner. He collected 3 RBI’s total. The halo’s are on a downward spiral after losing their 6th in a row.
The Mets swept the 3 game series and take on the lead in the N.L. East over the Nationals. P Noah Syndergaard (6-5) struck out 9 batters in 8 innings of work for another home win. He is now 6-1 with a 1.57 ERA at Citi Field. The man nicknamed Thor is a must Fantasy Pick for your Cash Draft competitions when he plays at home. New York (55-50) won against Washington (54-49) by a score of 5-2.

Fanpicks Top Performer 7-30-15
From afternoon to night games, it was another busy day in Fantasy Baseball, as all 30 team were in action for some Cash Draft competition. We are taking a look at the best Fantasy Picks of the day. This is your Daily Fantasy Sports top performer roundup :
It was an all out pitching war between P Justin Verlander (1-3) and P Chris Archer (9-8). They have thrown a total of 21 strikeouts together (Archer : 11, Verlander : 10), but it was Verlander who came out on top. Detroit’s ace gets his first win in 8 starts since returning from the DL. Archer was riding a perfect game until SS Jose Iglesias took it away, with an infield single in the 7th. He is now 0-4 in his last 6 games. The Tigers won 2-1 to avoid the series sweep.
Cleveland’s (46-54) bats did the job against the A.L. Central leading Royals (61-39). Indians SS Francisco Lindor collected a career-high of 4 RBI’s, while C Yan Gomes had the 2nd best total with 3. P Corey Kluber (6-11) didn’t need all that run support, as he allowed 5 hits and 1 ER in a complete game victory. Cleveland takes it 12-1 over Kansas City.
