NFL We Build Champions Roster – Week 12

This week the stack of ‪Russell Wilson‬ and ‪‎Doug Baldwin‬ were the most valuable picks. Those two combined for 3 passing touchdowns out of Russell Wilson’s total 5 passing touchdowns. There were several other multiple touchdown performances this week including ‪Adrian Peterson‬’s 2 rushing touchdowns, ‪CJ Anderson‬’s 2 rushing touchdowns, and‪ Brandon Marshall‬’s 2 receiving touchdowns. Receivers ‪Wheaton‬,‪ Landry‬, and ‪Thomas‬ only scored 1 touchdown each, but were able to create huge ‪‎fantasy value‬ with receptions and receiving yards. One very important factor to consider is the PPR (point per reception) scoring system such as the one used by Fanpicks.

Buffalo Bills versus New York Jets Thursday Night Football Real Money Fantasy Picks 11-12-2015

It will be a battle between playoff contenders from the AFC East division as the New York Jets will be hosting the Buffalo Bills. Fantasy football draft managers can tune to CBS TV on Thursday night November 12th at 8:30PM Eastern Time to track the results of their DFS roster picks.

This is the first of two meetings between these two teams. The Bills are 4-4 on the season as they returned to action from their bye week and defeated the Miami Dolphins 33-17 to break a two game losing streak. The Bills defense had been lit up for 34 points each time in back to back losses to Cincinnati and Jacksonville. In their victory the Bills went to their ground and pound attack and generated a total of 266 rushing yards on 36 carries. They finished the game with 410 offensive yards. There is some sideshow attraction for this game as Buffalo head coach Rex Ryan returns to New York to face his former team that fired him after last season. The team is the second best rushing team in the NFL as they run for 141.6 yards per game. They score 26.1 points a game which is 8th best in the NFL. The team sits in the middle of the league on defense.

The New York Jets are 5-3 and they too broke a two game losing streak with a 28-23 home victory to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jets defense during their losing streak gave up 30 points at New England and 34 at Oakland in their defeats. In their win against Jacksonville the Jets gave up a lot of yards as the Jaguars piled up 436 yards. A concern is they allowed a struggling second year quarterback in Blake Bortles to pile up 381 passing yards along with two touchdowns and two picks. The Jets run game is a huge concern as their offensively line is banged up and as a result they ran for only 29 yards on 28 carries. New York still seems content to run the ball near the opponent’s goal line as the club had two rushing touchdowns last week. Jets are fourth in total defense by giving up 323 yards per game.

Buffalo Bills QB:

Tyrod Taylor

The Bills quarterback returned to action after being sidelined two weeks due to injury. He completed 91% of his passes in the win against the Dolphins for 181 yards with a touchdown. On the year he is hitting on 71.8% of passes for 1278 yards with ten touchdowns and four picks. Taylor is a major threat with his feet having rushed 41 times for 231 yards and two touchdowns.

Buffalo Bills RB:

LeSean McCoy

McCoy had his first 100 yard rushing performance as a Buffalo Bill last week at home to the Dolphins. He finished the game with 112 yards on 16 carries and a touchdown. The Bills back averaged 7 yards per carry in the game. On the season McCoy has ran for 637 yards and four touchdowns rushing for 4.1 yards per attempt.

Buffalo Bills WR:

Sammy Watkins

The Bills featured receiver returned to play after missing three of his past four games with injury. He had a season high 168 receiving yards with a touchdown and eight receptions against Miami.

New York Jets QB:

Ryan Fitzpatrick

The Jets quarterback is playing with injured ligament in his non-throwing hand. With the run game not working Fitzpatrick was the star offensively last week hitting on 61.8% of his throws for 272 yards with two touchdowns. Fitzpatrick has thrown for 13 touchdowns and seven picks on the season.

New York Jets RB:

Chris Ivory

Ivory leads the Jets with 137 carries for 716 yards with five touchdowns and 5.2 yards per rush. He struggled the past two games with 38 rushes for 43 yards. He is still trusted near the end zone as he had two short touchdown runs last week.

New York Jets WR:

Brandon Marshall

The veteran wide out has eight receptions for 730 yards with five touchdowns. He was limited with 44 receiving yards against the Jaguars on four catches last week.

NFL Fantasy Football Draft News 10-30-2015

New York Jets versus Oakland Raiders NFL Fantasy Preview 11-1-2015

Two New York Jets are off to a long road trip out west to face the Oakland Raiders from NFL action. Pro football DFS GM’s can tune to CBS TV on Sunday November 1st from Oakland to track the results of their fantasy roster picks.

The teams have gone through some pretty major changes since they met in week one of the 2014 season where the Jets earned a 19-14 victory at home. New York is 4-2 and showing signs of a playoff team from the AFC. The defense has returned to an elite status as the club is second overall in yardage allowed at 283 per game. Scoring defense is fourth best in the NFL as the Jets give up 17.5 a game. A big surprise has been the play on the offensive side of the football. The Jets are number three rushing team in the league and are in the top third in the league in scoring offense by averaging 25.3 points a game. Ryan Fitzpatrick is managing the team effectively and avoiding many of the costly mistakes that have haunted him during his career regulating him to that of journeyman status.

Head coach Jack Del Rio has raised the Oakland Raiders franchise to that of a joke to respectability in his short time with the club. The team is 3-3 and has picked up two road wins so far and almost had a third but a long field goal by the Bears as time expired gave Oakland a defeat. The Raiders offense is now tenth in the league in scoring by averaging 24 points per game. On the defensive side there is still some work to do. They do a much better job defending the run ranking third in the league. But pass defense is 32nd and last in the NFL.

New York Jets QB:

Ryan Fitzpatrick

The 11th year veteran quarterback is completing 61% of his throws this year for 1472 yards with 11 touchdowns and 7 picks. In the loss to the Patriots last week Fitzpatrick was 22 of 39 for 295 yards with two touchdowns. He has multiple touchdown throws in five of the Jets six games this year.

New York Jets RB:

Chris Ivory

Ivory is getting the bulk of the work for the Jets this season. He has 100 carries for 501 yards and four touchdowns. That is a very good 5 yards per rush average from this sixth year back. The New England performance last week was disappointing as Ivory had 17 carries for just 41 yards.

New York Jets WR:

Brandon Marshall

The veteran wide out has been heavily targeted in the passing game and has caught 41 balls for 578 yards with four touchdowns. He is averaging 14.1 yards per catch which is well over his career mark. Last week in the loss to New England he had a season low four receptions for 67 yards.

Oakland Raiders QB:

Derek Carr

The second year quarterback has hit on 65.8% of his throws for 1460 yards with 11 touchdowns and three picks. He is showing great promise as the weeks go by. Last week in the win at San Diego Carr went 24 of 31 for 289 yards with three touchdowns and no picks. This year he has two three touchdown performances and two games where he has thrown two touchdowns.

Oakland Raiders RB:

Latavious Murray

Running back Murray leads Oakland by a long way with 95 of the teams carries out of the backfield for 421 yards and three touchdowns. He had a nice performance at San Diego last week as he ran 15 times for 85 yards and a touchdown.

Oakland Raiders WR:

Amari Cooper

The first round draft pick is working out well in Oakland. Cooper 33 catches for 519 yards with three touchdowns. He is a big play target for the Raiders with 15.7 yards per catch average. The Oakland wide out had five receptions for 133 yards and a touchdown last week.

NFL Fantasy Football Draft News 10-20-2015

New York Jets versus New England Patriots NFL Fantasy Preview 10-25-2015

Two bitter AFC East rivals square off as the New England Patriots will host the New York Jets. NFL fantasy football draft GM’s can check this game out on Sunday October 25th at 1PM Eastern Time over on CBS to follow the results of their roster picks.

The Jets have been a surprise this year as they enter play with a mark of 4-1. They had a nice second half rally last week as they defeated the Washington Redskins on Sunday 34-20. New York made very good second half adjustments as they turned a 13-10 deficit at the half to a 27-13 lead after three quarters. New York showcased their run game and it delivered 221 yards on the ground in the win. The Jets did a good job of stopping the Redskins run game by limiting Washington to just 34 yards on their 17 carries. They were efficient last week in the red zone converting on 3 of 4 times. New York not only sports the top run game in the league but they are tops in the league in total defense and in scoring defense. On the year the Jets give up just 15 points along with 269 yards per game. They stop the run and pass this year ranking second in pass and third in rush defense.

The New England Patriots have a 5-0 record on the year. They faced the Indianapolis Colts in a high profile Sunday night football game last week and defeated Indianapolis 34-27. The team was on back to back road games and built a two score lead in the second half until the Colts got within seven points with 1:19 left in the game. New England had built a good enough lead where they could absorb 409 yards of offense and 3 of 3 inside the red zone execution by Indianapolis. New England is the number two passing offense in the NFL and leads the league in scoring. The Patriots average 325 yards passing and 36.6 points per game.

New York Jets QB:

Ryan Fitzpatrick

The 11th year journeyman is completing 62% of his throws for 1177 yards with nine touchdowns and seven picks. In the win against the Redskins Fitzpatrick threw for 253 yards with two touchdowns and a pick. He has thrown a pick in all five of his games this year.

New York Jets RB:

Chris Ivory

Ivory was a good acquisition from the Saints and leads New York with 83 carries for 460 yards and four touchdowns. He is just 27 yards old and has handled the workload very well. He received 20 carries on Sunday and ran for 146 yards and a touchdown.

New York Jets WR:

Brandon Marshall

Marshall leads the Jets by far in the passing game being targeted 54 times and caught 37 balls for 511 yards and four touchdowns. He caught seven balls for 111 yards and a touchdown. Brandon Marshall has 100 yards receiving or greater in four straight games.

New England Patriots QB:

Tom Brady

It’s another start for a great season for the 38 year old quarterback. On the year Brady is completing 70% of his throws for 1699 yards with 14 touchdowns and one pick. Brady is productive in his late 30’s which says something about his legacy in the NFL. He threw for 312 yards and three touchdowns in the win against the Colts.

New England Patriots RB:

LeGarrette Blount

The 28 year old running back has 49 carries for 249 yards and four touchdowns. He had a season high 93 yards rushing last week with a touchdown.

New England Patriots WR:

Julian Edelman

Edelman leads New England with 40 catches for 440 yards and four touchdowns. He was held to 50 receiving yards last week on six catches but did have a receiving touchdown.

NFL Fantasy Football Draft News 10-1-2015

New York Jets versus Miami Dolphins NFL Fantasy Football Preview 10-1-2015

A battle between two AFC East division rivals across the pound as the Miami Dolphins will meet the New York Jets. Fantasy football draft GMs can tune to CBS on Sunday October 4th from London England at 9:30AM Eastern Time to follow the result of their roster picks.

These divisional foes in their two meetings last year split with each team winning at home. Interesting that the road team has won the past six meetings but this game is played on a neutral field in London England.

The New York Jets suffered their first loss of the year last week in a 24-17 defeat at home to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Jets were mistake prone in the loss by committing four turnovers in the game. They also had a special teams miscue by allowing a punt return for touchdown. They found themselves down 24-7 at the half. The Jets made good halftime adjustments defensively and shut out the Eagles in the second half. Unfortunately the offense produced just ten points and came up seven points shy on the scoreboard losing 24-17. The Jets defensive performance was pretty good by allowing just 123 rushing yards on 39 carries and 108 passing yards to Philadelphia. New York is the top scoring defense in the NFL by giving up just 13.7 points per game. They allow 298 yards of offense to their opponents good for fourth best in the league.

The Miami Dolphins are a 1-2 football team. They opened up with a seven point road win at Washington then dropped games at Jacksonville and in their home opener last week to Buffalo 41-14. It was an ugly loss last week for the Dolphins as they were down 27-0 at the half. Miami had huge problems defending the Buffalo run game by allowing 151 yards rushing in defeat. Another issue for the Dolphins in the game was their tackling which looked amongst the worst of any team competing on Sunday. The Dolphins had a -3 turnover margin in defeat.

New York Jets QB:

Ryan Fitzpatrick

The Jets starting quarterback is completing 62% of his throws for 705 yards with six touchdowns and five picks. Against Philadelphia last week Fitzpatrick went 35 of 58 for 283 yards with two touchdowns and a season worse three interceptions.

New York Jets RB:

Chris Ivory

The veteran back has 34 carries for 148 yards with two touchdowns for 4.4 yards per carry average. Ivory is splitting carries with Bilal Powell.

Bilal Powell

He has an equal amount of carries as Ivory with 34 rushing attempts and he has run for 131 yards and no touchdowns. Powell is running for 3.9 yards a carry this year.

New York Jets WR:

Brandon Marshall

Marshall has been targeted 33 times which is 16 more than any other Jet. He has 23 catches for 272 yards with three touchdowns.

Miami Dolphins QB:

Ryan Tannehill

A recipient of a huge contract in the offseason it’s time for this fourth year starter to lead this team to a playoff spot. Tannehill has completed 61% of his throws this year for 882 yards with five touchdowns and three picks. Those three picks came last week in the loss to the Bills.

Miami Dolphins RB:

Lamar Miller

Miller is looking like a fantasy dud thus far. He ran for 1099 yards and 5.1 yards a carry average last year. In 2015 after three games Miller has 30 carries for 105 yards with no touchdowns and 3.5 yards per carry average.

Miami Dolphins WR:

Rishard Matthews

The fourth year receiver out of Nebraska leads the Dolphins with 16 catches for 262 yards and three touchdowns. Last week against the Bills, Matthews caught six balls for 113 yards with two touchdowns.

Philadelphia Eagles versus New York Jets NFL One Day League Fantasy Preview

The Philadelphia Eagles are searching for a win as they are on the road in week three to face the New York Jets. NFL fantasy GM’s can tune to FOX at 1PM Eastern Time on Sunday September 27th to track the scoring results of their rosters

This game figures to be close based on the Las Vegas odds as the Jets are favored by -2 points. That means those who target Philadelphia Eagles playmakers for their leagues should see the team not taking their foot off the gas in the fourth quarter. An interesting twist here is that this is a good defensive team facing an NFC squad they see only once every four years.

It has been a bad start for the Philadelphia Eagles as the squad sits at 0-2 on the year. They were held to just 24 points on the road to Atlanta in week one and last week at Dallas the Eagles could only score ten points all game long. The club is having trouble getting their run game going with DeMarco Murray. Philadelphia is 32nd and last in the league in rushing offense as they gain just 35 yards per game on the ground.

The New York Jets are off to a 2-0 start to the year. They have double digit victories in each game by beating Cleveland 31-10 in week one and last week they hit the road to Indianapolis on Monday Night Football and won 20-7 behind a great defensive performance. The Jets limited Indy to no points until ten minutes were remaining in the game. New York is forcing turnovers and currently sit number one in the NFL in scoring defense. Offensively the team has run the ball effectively for 127 yards per game ranking tenth best in the league.

Philadelphia Eagles QB:

Sam Bradford

The former Ram who is in his first year with the Eagles has hit on 66% of his throws for 560 yards with two touchdowns and four picks. He has had one touchdown pass and two picks in each of the first two weeks. Last week Bradford hit on just 23 of 37 passes against the Cowboys for 224 yards.

Philadelphia Eagles RB:

DeMarco Murray

It has been a poor start for the former Dallas Cowboys running back. He has 21 carries this year for just 11 yards and a touchdown. In the passing game Murray had caught nine balls for 22 yards.

Darren Sproles

The veteran back has just six carries for 46 yards and a touchdown. He is second on the club with 11 catches for 99 yards and five first down gains.

Philadelphia Eagles WR:

Jordan Matthews

There has not been much production from this unit as a whole. Matthews has 16 receptions for 182 yards with a touchdown. He has two catches for over 20 yards.

New York Jets QB:

Ryan Fitzpatrick

The veteran signal caller has been under center for an injured Geno Smith. Fitzpatrick has hit on 63% of his throws for 423 yards with four touchdowns and two picks. Fitzpatrick has had his issues with bad interceptions during his career. In each of his two games this year he has thrown for two touchdowns and one pick.

New York Jets RB:

Chris Ivory

Ivory leads the club with 34 carries on the year for 148 yards and two touchdowns. Ivory is banged up and questionable with a quad injury.

Bilal Powell

Powell has 24 carries for 100 yards and two gains for twenty or greater yards. He struggled last week with 38 yards on 12 carries.

New York Jets versus Indianapolis Colts

Monday Night Fantasy Football Picks 9-21-2015

From Monday Night Football the Indianapolis Colts will be hosting the New York Jets. Fantasy NFL GM’s can tune to ESPN TV at 8:30PM Eastern Time to follow the results of their fantasy draft.

The New York Jets opened up their season with a convincing home victory against the Cleveland Browns winning 31-10. The Jets scored the final 17 points of the game as they shut out the Browns in the second half of their game. The Jets ground game was effective as they rushed for 154 yards. They were efficient in the red zone converting 4 of 6 touchdowns in their opportunities. Turnovers were a key in the win as New York forced four Browns turnovers and the Jets committed just one miscue for the game. Defensively the Jets held the Browns offense to 0 of 2 tries inside the red zone.

The Indianapolis Colts went into Buffalo in week one and were soundly defeated 27-14 in a game that was nowhere near as close as the score indicated. Buffalo was up 17-0 at the half and held a 27-8 lead with eight minutes left in the game. Turnovers were a big key for Indianapolis as they committed three for the game and forced none way from the Buffalo Bills. The Colts have suffered through a lack of a run game for years and there were hoping that their offseason acquisition of Frank Gore would help but the veteran back was ineffective in the opener. The Colts finished with 64 yards rushing for the game on their 17 runs from scrimmage. They did produce a 2 for 2 inside the red zone.

New York Jets QB:

Ryan Fitzpatrick:

The veteran journeymen will lead this team under center as long as the Jets are winning and he stays away from costly turnovers. Last week he completed 15 of 24 passes for 179 yards with two touchdowns and one pick.

New York Jets RB:

Chris Ivory:

The veteran running back led the Jets with 20 carries for 91 yards and two rushing touchdowns. The Colts defense appeared soft last week in their loss to the Bills so expect to see a lot of Ivory on the ground on Monday Night. He averaged 4.6 yards a carry last week with five first down gains and a long of 19 yards.

Bilal Powell:

Powell received 12 carries in the opener for 62 yards. He averaged 5.2 yards per carry and had a long gain of 21 yards. As long as the Jets are within range of winning this game, the game plan will most likely call for 30-35 running plays like last week. The key is for the Jets defense to contain Andrew Luck and the playmakers in their passing game.

New York Jets WR:

Brandon Marshall:

The new addition out wide for New York had six catches for 62 yards and a touchdown. He had a long gain of 18 yards. Marshall is eyeing big plays so the intermediate safe routes will be a change for him in New York for a while until the coaching staff has more confidence in Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Indianapolis Colts QB:

Andrew Luck

It was not a good Week 1 for Andrew Luck. Much is expected out of this Colts team in 2015 after an AFC Championship Game elimination last season. Luck was 26 of 49 last week for 243 yards with two touchdowns and two picks.

Indianapolis Colts RB:

Frank Gore ran just 8 times for 31 yards in week one. He had two first down gains and had a long of nine yards. Gore averaged 3.9 yards a carry and will be running against a pretty good Jets defense. At home expect the Colts to pass quite a bit with Gore needing at least 5 yards a carry to get past 12 carries per game.

Indianapolis Colts WR:

T.Y. Hilton:

Hilton was targeted 14 times and caught seven passes last week for 88 yards. He is questionable for Monday with a knee issue.

Andre Johnson:

Johnson came over in free agency from the Texans and was rather displeased with his time in Houston the past few weeks and let everyone know of it. He was targeted 10 times last week but caught just four balls for 24 yards.

Monday Night Football One Day League Fantasy Picks

QB: Andrew Luck (Colts)

RB: Chris Ivory (Jets)

WR: Andre Johnson (Colts), Brandon Marshall (Jets)

TE: Coby Fleener (Colts)
