Eastern Conference Round 2 Preview
On to round two of playoffs fantasy basketball. The seeding order got respected with the top four team moving on. After dismantling the Pistons in four game, the Cleveland Cavaliers have had enough rest (8 days) to take on the Atlanta Hawks. The other series sets up the north versus the south. The Toronto Raptors will go against the Miami Heat. Both team were pushed to the brink of a game 7 during round one. The Eastern conference round 2 will begin May 2nd with the Hawks flying in to Cleveland for Game 1. The Heat will be in Toronto the following day to start their series as well. For the Atlanta Hawks, facing LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers is starting to look less like a matchup than a recurring nightmare.
The Hawks got swept by Cleveland this season, dropping the three meetings by an average of almost 10 points (109.3 to 99.7). When they met in the Eastern Conference finals last spring, the result was the same: four consecutive Cavaliers victories, an especially ignominious way for Atlanta’s sparkling 60-victory season to end. And if you go back even further to 2009, the previous postseason clash between both sides, well it ended in a sweep again. See the trend?
Nothing either of these teams did in the first round (sweep of Detroit for Cleveland and 4-2 win against Boston for Atlanta) suggests that things will be different this year.

The Toronto Raptors fans have reason to celebrate, even if it’s only the second round. For the second-time in their 21-year history, they won a best-of-seven playoff series, outlasting the Indiana Pacers in seven games. It wasn’t pretty and it came so close to falling apart in the fourth quarter of Game 7, but coach Dwane Casey can now breath easy.
While the Raptors had their ups and downs in the first round, the Heat had their ups and downs this season. But both had regular-season success against the Cleveland Cavaliers, who have long been the clear favorite to win the Eastern Conference. One of them will get the chance to put the Cavs to the test in the conference finals, should the defending conference champs win their series with the Atlanta Hawks.

Fantasy Basketball Projections – April 22nd 2016
The NBA playoffs continues with a couple of Eastern conference Game three’s and one Western conference. All three better-seeded teams could take a 3-0 lead in the series tonight, but it’s back at home for the underdogs. The first matchup sets LeBron and the East number 1 Cavs against the Pistons at 7PM ET. Following at 8 PM will be the Hawks in Boston’s TD Garden Arena, while at 9:30 PM, the second best team in the West take on the Grizzlies. FanPicks has you prepared with Friday’s fantasy basketball projections, charting the top 20 best performers for all three games.
It’s no surprise that LeBron James takes number one in the top 20 fantasy picks. His level of consistency is tremendous, scoring over 30 FP is past 10 games. Along with LeBron, Kyrie Irving his the only other player in today’s lineup to score an average of over 30 FP during the playoffs. Kyle Korver suprisingly ranks number two with 25 FP, having had a huge Game 2 against Boston. His numbers don’t usually reflect that. He’s got a post-season average of 12.5 FP and a past four game average of 10.1 FP. His teammate, Al Horford, scored the same number fantasy points, and it’s clear that his status his much better than Korver’s. Reggie Jackson is the best fantasy draft player from Detroit, and he’s not even the most expensive. That goes to rebounding machine Andre Drummond. The Piston and Hawks share the most players listed in the top 20 with 5 each. The Hawks leading scorer, Paul Millsap, didn’t make the cut. Proves that the Hawks have a nice arsenal on their hands. The Spurs and Grizzlies are lacking in that list, mostly due to the fact their Game 2 ended in a 94-68 win for San Antonio. Off the board, you could see guys like Celtics Isaiah Thomas, Spurs Kawhi Leonard and Grizzlies Matt Barnes provide more than they did last time around. It will also need to be seen if Kent Bazemore could make the Hawks starting five, as he is a game time decision. Thabo Sefolosha is the one who could take his spot if unavailable. The Swiss player has been increasingly good and could line-up as an amazing sleeper pick.
Daily Fantasy Basketball Preview Hawks vs Raptors
Dominate your competition with our Daily Fantasy Basketball Preview, create the winning lineup at Fanpicks.com. The Atlanta Hawks (45-30) travel north of the border to take on the struggling Toronto Raptors (49-24).
The Hawks are on a four-game winning spell and are separating themselves from the rest of the mid-seed pack in the Eastern Conference. Jeff Teague put up a team-leading 26 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists, going 9 of 18 from field goal range and draining all eight of his shot attempts from the foul line. Al Horford and Paul Millsap both registered double-doubles in the victory, Horford with 14 points and 10 boards and Millsap with 11 points and 11 rebounds on a 4 of 12 shooting night from the paint. Atlanta ranks second in the league for assists behind the Golden State Warriors, who are averaging 25.7 dimes per games. Kyle Korver also contributed 12 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. The organization remains third in the Eastern conference, one game in front of the fourth place Miami Heat. The Hawks will return home, at Philips Arena, for a four-game stand beginning Friday, where they own a 24-13 record.
The second place Raptors have dropped three of their past four contests, with their latest defeat, a home drubbing on Monday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder, 119-100. DeMar DeRozan collected 19 points, 5 assists and a pair of boards, while shooting 8 of 22 from the field, to buoy the squad in the loss. Rookie Norman Powell recorded a career-best 18 points, and hauled in 4 rebounds, going 7 of 13 from the paint and 4 of 7 from beyond the arc. Powell has been a boon for Toronto over their last few contests, but is still averaging 3.5 points and and 1.8 boards over the course of his 40 games played for the club. Jonas Valanciunas pulled off a double-double with a 10-point, 10-rebound performance, while Patrick Patterson provided bench support with 13 points and a pair of three-pointers. The Raptors sit five games ahead of the third ranked Hawks, with nine games remaining in their campaign. They will end it against the likes of San Antonio, Charlotte and Indiana.

NBA Fantasy Basketball Preview
Kobe ’s Los Angeles Lakers will be awaiting the Atlanta Hawks tonight at the Staples Center and hope to avoid slip up into another major losing streak. FanPicks has this NBA Fantasy Basketball preview for this game. Come enjoy some DFS news and predictions at www.fanpicks.com
Los Angeles just got out of a difficult 8 game losing streak prior to their latest game at the hands of the Nuggets 117-107. The strange thing about this Lakers team is that their individual talents and potential have absolutely no correlation with their NBA record this year. Injuries have been a huge blown for their organization and will be potentially without Kobe Bryant, Lou Williams and Jordan Clarkson tonight. They’re the worst shooting team in the league and unfortunately haven’t improved at all defensively, allowing 116.4 pts per game their last 8. The positive note for the Lakers is that D’Angelo Russell’s development as rookie as sped up with Bryant’s injury and he’s been averaging 26.8 pts the past 4 games.
The Hawks are coming back from a tough loss against the Golden State Warriors, almost ending their record home game winning streak. They’ve been playing some good basketball lately but have lost half of their last 10 games within 10 pts. Their lack in offensive key decision making and inability to close their opponents towards the end of the game has been their main issue. They’ve been pretty much counting on their defense to win their games, as they’re ranked 2nd in the NBA. With key conference wins against the Bulls, Hornets and Pacers the past month, they will most likely continue their great form into this game. Stats however haven’t been on the Hawks’ side against the Lakers as they’ve won only 1 of their last 9 games in LA and haven’t won back to back road games against the Lakers since 2002.

The Hawks have been inconsistent as of late, after losing back-to-back games against the Knicks last week, they had two decisive victories over the Bulls and 76ers. However, on Wednesday they lost to a struggling Hornets team 107-84. They head into Milwaukee after losing nine of their last 15 road games. One explanation for Atlanta’s spotty play is the health of the team. Thabo Sefolosha is a question-mark heading into Friday’s game after not playing on Wednesday. Jeff Teague did play on Wednesday but on a sprained left ankle. His play seemed to be hampered by the injury, as he only scored nine points (3-10 FG) in the loss. Friday will be the first matchup of the season between the two teams, with the Hawks controlling the series 3-1 last year.
The Bucks have lost four of their last six and have also show inconsistencies all season. One game after an impressive victory over Central Division rival Chicago Bulls, the Bucks were defeated by the mediocre Wizards 106-101. In their win over the Bulls, the Bucks committed a season-low five turnovers. In their loss to the Wizards, the Bucks committed a season-high 27 turnovers. Milwaukee will need to tighten up their ball security if they want to win on Friday against the Hawks. One way to do that is to get point guard Jerryd Bayless back out on the court, who has now missed four-straight games do to an ankle injury. O.J. Mayo was forced to leave Wednesday’s game with left hamstring soreness and it is unclear if he will be healthy enough to play on Friday. Milwaukee is 11-7 at home this season.

The Hawks are coming off an impressive 120-105 home win over the Chicago Bulls on Saturday night, holding onto first place in the Southeast Division with a one game lead over the second place Miami Heat. Al Horford had a huge night as the leading producer for Atlanta, dropping a season-best 33 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists while making 15 of 21 shots from the field. Paul Millsap added 18 points and 8 board of his own and Kyle Korver put up 13 points and 3 of 6 three-point attempts as the Hawks have regained some of the form that made them the number one seed coming out of the East last season. The team ranks third in the league in assists, averaging 25.5 per game, behind only Golden State and San Antonio. Jeff Teague, Dennis Schroder and Millsap combine to average 13.6 of those assists. The team plays eight of their next eleven games on the road, where they hold down a 10-8 record.
Charlotte is in a freefall and trying to figure out a way to right their ship after squandering a promising start to their season. The team is returning home from a four-game road trip with no wins under their belt and are suffering through a seven-game skid. Their latest defeat came on Sunday night in Denver as they were bested by the Nuggets, 95-92. Cody Zeller and Jeremy Lamb both had 15 points apiece to lead the Hornets in scoring, yet Lamb made only 1 of 5 shots from beyond the arc, indicative of his team’s shooting woes all game. Charlotte shot 36.1% from the paint and 33.3% from long range in the loss, which sends them to the basement of the Southeast Division where they once threatened to reign over after a 10-5 November. Nicolas Batum returned to the starting lineup for Charlotte after a four-game absence with a sprained toe and put up 9 points. Batum is the second-leading scorer for the Hornets, averaging 16 points per contest.

After a shaky December where they had an 8-7 record yet still managed to hold onto second place in the Eastern Conference, the Bulls have won six games in a row, their latest a Thursday night victory over the Boston Celtics, 101-92, at United Center. Chicago are now 16-5 at home after a match-up that saw all five Bulls starters contribute double digit scoring. Jimmy Butler had 19 points and 10 assists, Pau Gasol recorded 17 points and 18 rebounds and Derrick Rose added 18 points and 7 boards as the team seems to be finding their form as the midway point of the season comes into focus. Despite missing Joakim Noah (shoulder) since December, Chicago have remained in top form in the Eastern Conference, yet can’t quite close the gap with the first place Cleveland Cavaliers who are also on a tear at the moment. The team expects Noah to suit up again some time next week.
The Hawks demolished the 76ers in Philadelphia on Thursday night, 126-98, to put a halt to a two-game losing streak and maintain a neck-and-neck fight with the Miami Heat for first place in the Southeast Division. Kent Bazemore led Atlanta in scoring in a game that saw the team get point contributions from 13 players. Paul Millsap and Al Horford each had 18 points, with the tandem also combining for 15 rebounds. Dennis Schroder scored 14 points off the bench, shooting 5-for-8 from the paint and 2-for-3 from long range. Atlanta ranks seventh in the NBA in field goal shooting percentage, averaging 46% per game this season. That trend continued to work in the team’s favor on Thursday, as they shot 53.3%. Despite riding hot hands into the weekend, the Hawks have lost seven of their last nine games to the Bulls.

Losers of three of their last four games, the Hawks have not started 2016 in the same fashion as they ended 2015 (winning six straight) and are once again looking very vulnerable in a fiercely competitive East. Atlanta lost at home to the New York Knicks on Monday night, 107-101, to maintain a tenuous grasp on fifth place in the conference. Although all five starters for the team managed to post scores in the double digits, they still weren’t able to overcome hot scoring performances from their opponents. Paul Millsap led the Hawks with 19 points in the defeat, while Al Horford came just shy of a triple-double, putting in 13 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. The Hawks rank dead last in the NBA in rebounds, averaging 40.3 per game. Despite their recent struggles, the team remains only a half game behind the first place Miami Heat in the Southeast Division.
It may be difficult to come to terms with, but the Philadelphia 76ers may actually be the hotter team heading into Wednesday’s match-up, having gone 3-3 in their last six outings. Philly bested the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves 109-99 on Monday night and are slowly looking like a somewhat respectable outfit in the process. One of the main reasons for the Sixers recent surge is new team toy Ish Smith, who once again led the way for the team with 21 points, going 9-for-16 from the field, and adding 11 assists. Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor added 10 points apiece, with Noel also contributing 9 rebounds. Since Smith arrived in Philadelphia in December, the team has improved its shooting percentage by over 9 points per game, but still rank last in the league in offense, recording an average of only 92.9 points per contest. The team plays their next five games at home, where they are 2-12.

The Knicks beat the Hawks on Sunday, and will come in with confidence knowing they found an answer to the Hawks style of play. Arron Afflalo came up big time after he has slumped the past few games, scoring a team-high and season-high of 38 points. Keeping up this offensive flow will be crucial to success, as that has been the downfall of the Knicks often this season. This is their first night of back-to-back away games.
The Hawks utilized Paul Millsap to the fullest on Sunday, but couldn’t come away with the win. They will need to use Millsap again as he is their biggest threat to score. He had 19 points, nine rebounds, and six assists on Sunday–this led the team in all categories. This also occured in the Hawks second win against New York this season, so it can prove to be successful if their defense can hold. The Hawks will have the home court advantage this time around, but they will need to find a way to come together and flow better in order to beat the Knicks.

The Atlanta Hawks will host the New York Knicks from the NBA. Fantasy basketball draft GM’s can tune to NBA TV on Tuesday January 5th at 8PM Eastern Time to track the scoring results of their one day league picks.
The New York Knicks are a much improved team from last year. They enter this game after beating Atlanta at home on Sunday 111-97. Knicks got a monster game from guard Arron Afflalo. The team finished with a 50% shooting night. Expect Atlanta to make a concentrated effort to guard Afflalo in their rematch. The Knicks are defending much better and are number two in three point field goal defense by allowing 31.5% from beyond the arc.
The Atlanta Hawks have been on a roll in recent games winning eight of their past ten games after their defeat at New York. Atlanta had no excuses having last played on December 29th at Houston. The Hawks are a top ten offense in scoring and shooting as they average 101.9 points per game and hit on 45.9% from the field.
Here are the NBA Fantasy Picks
With Arron Afflalo on the minds of Hawks coaches let’s look at Carmelo Anthony in this game. He does lead the Knicks in scoring at 21.5 points per game average. His numbers have been good in previous games with 20 at Chicago, 24 at home to Detroit and 29 points at Boston. In the win against the Hawks Anthony did pull down nine rebounds and grabbed five assists. He has pulled down 21 rebounds total over is past two meetings with Atlanta. A plus in Anthony’s game is he is approaching five assists per game in his past ten contests.

Golden St Warriors versus LA Lakers NBA Fantasy League Preview 1-5-2016
The LA Lakers are at home to face the Golden St Warriors. DFS NBA draft managers can tune over to NBA TV on Tuesday night January 5th to follow the results of their fantasy basketball roster selections
LA is enjoying their best run this season as they have a three game win streak. The competition has not been all that impressive. Other than a road win at Boston they had home victories to downtrodden Phoenix and Philadelphia. LA has been poor on both ends of the court. They are 30th and last in shooting and 28th in scoring offense. In their first meeting against the Warriors the Lakers were held to just 77 points.
Golden St has a two game win streak after beating Denver in overtime on Saturday. It saw the return to action for point guard Stephen Curry who was sidelined with a leg injury. Curry played limited minutes and will be a pass for fantasy rosters on Tuesday as his minutes could be limited based on his injury and the opponent. This game could be a blowout so Curry could see his minutes barely reach 20.
Here are the NBA Pro Basketball Real Money Fantasy League Picks
The Warriors have defended very well this season. They are fourth best in field goal defense and third in the league in defending the three.

With Curry most likely being limited in this game play on Draymond Green who could be the focal point for Golden St in this game. He is the leader for the Warriors in rebounds and assists and is coming off a 29 point game against Denver at home.

NBA FANTASY BASKETBALL DRAFT NEWS 10-18-2015
THE HAWKS WILL NEED TO PULL ANOTHER RABBIT OUT OF THE HAT AGAINST IMPROVING EASTERN CONFERENCE
The Atlanta Hawks surprised a lot of fantasy basketball experts when they finished first in the East. But they’ve shocked even more when they made it all the way to the conference finals. Last season’s coach of the year, Mike Buldenholzer, proved that you don`t need big names to have a great team.
The Georgian team came second behind the Golden State Warriors for the best record in the NBA 2014/15 season, with 60 victories and 22 defeats. During the playoffs, they were able to send both the Nets and the Wizard packing in 6 games each. LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers put an end to the Hawks Cinderella story, sweeping them in the East final.
The Hawks failed to bring in some premiere talent after playing their best season ever. The biggest signing was from one of their own. Power forward Paul Millsap decided to return with the team for a third season. The Hawks lost their starting shooting guard, DeMarre Carroll, who went on to sign a big deal with the Toronto Raptors. To replace him, they got Tim Hardaway Jr in a trade with the Knicks.
Atlanta Hawks PG
Teague contributed to the Hawks scoring by committee offence for the last three years. His consistency scoring points is tremendous. He scored 20 points or more in 25 games, last season. Not only is he capable of producing on the scoreboard, but he’s also a solid playmaker with 513 assists.
Atlanta Hawks SG
Tim Hardaway Jr
Hardaway will have some big shoes to fill. He takes on the position that DeMarre Carroll used to assume last year. The former New York Knick is offensively gifted, but his defense has been his biggest issue. Knicks general manager was very vocal about Hardaway lack of defensive acumen during the 2014/15 season. It’s something that the Hawks will miss in Carroll.
One of, if not the best defender in the team, Sefolosha could be relied upon to take the responsibility of the starting shooting guard during the season. That’s if Tim Hardaway lack of defensive skills hurt the team too much. The 31 years-old is coming back from a season ending leg injury and is unlikely to play in the season opener. The most point he scored in a season during his NBA career was 613, back in the 2012/13 season. His fantasy value is not very high.
Atlanta Hawks SF
Korver is known for making three points shot look easy. He led the league in three point’s percentage with 49.2%, last year, and made his first all-star game appearance at 33 year-old. The sharpshooter seems to have found his groove in Atlanta.
Atlanta Hawks PF
Millsap became the pillar of this team since his arrival from Utah in 2013. The Hawks success comes from the team’s collective contribution, but Millsap is the face of the franchise. He led the Hawks in scoring last year, with 1218 points, and rebounds, with 570.
Atlanta Hawks C
The three time all-star is in the last year of his contract. He will look to cash in with a big season. Another thing that is going for him is that he has yet to miss the playoffs since being picked 3rd overall in the 2007 draft. Horford has all the tools to be a top fantasy pick center man in the NBA.
Cleveland Cavaliers vs Atlanta Hawks – 5/22/15 NBA Playoff Fantasy Sports, Basketball Picks, Odds & Predictions
The Atlanta Hawks and Cleveland Cavaliers move into Game 2 of their NBA playoff series on Friday night May 22nd. With Atlanta down 0-1 in this series they are the home team and NBA mock draft managers can tune to TNT TV at 8:30PM Eastern Time to follow their roster scoring in real time.
Atlanta for the third consecutive playoff game was unable to eclipse 100 points as they were held to just 89 points in Game 1. After pouring in 51 for the first half the Hawks offense stalled and was held to just 38 for the second half. The Hawks three point shooting was horrid in the opener as the club could make only 4 of their 23 shots which really made the difference in the game. The game also saw Atlanta forward DeMarre Carroll go down with a sprained knee and his status for Friday is listed as questionable.
On the Cavaliers side guard Kyrie Irving played though a knee injury that impacted him on the scoring column. He is listed as probable on Friday but it would surprise anyone if Irving was to sit out Game 2 with the Game 1 victory and the next two games of this series after Friday being played in Cleveland. Sixth man J.R. Smith had been historically a very poor playoff shooter but he delivered big time in Game 1 with 28 points with 8 of 12 makes coming from three point distance.
Cleveland Cavaliers Point Guard: Kyrie Irving has played in all 11 Cavaliers playoff games. He is averaging 19 points and 3 ½ assists per game. About is injury Irving told the media that he is confident to play on Friday. He had six points in Game 6 against the Bulls. Irving scored 10 in the opener against the Hawks.
Cleveland Cavaliers Shooting Guard: J.R. Smith was hot in Game 1 of this series. For the playoffs he has started four of his nine games and is averaging 13 points per game. He is hitting 46% from the field in the post season.
Cleveland Cavaliers Small Forward: LeBron James is the scoring leader for the Cavaliers in the playoffs at 27 points per game along with 10 boards and nearly 8 assists. James is shooting just 42% from the field in the playoffs.
Cleveland Cavaliers Power Forward: Kevin Love is out of the playoffs after suffering a shoulder injury in Game 4 against the Celtics. There is now other power forward rated player on their roster.
Cleveland Cavaliers Center: Tristan Thompson has seen his minutes increase in the playoffs. He is shooting 58% from the field, grabbing 9 ½ boards with 9 points per game.
Atlanta Hawks Point Guard: Jeff Teague had a good Game 1 for the Hawks with 27 points and four assists. With J.R. Smith getting more time on the court it’s a plus for fantasy draft managers to take a look at Teague because Smith has issues defensively.
Atlanta Hawks Shooting Guard: It has been a very disappointing playoff for Kyle Korver. He is averaging just 11 points a game with a 39% shooting percentage. He is shooting nearly 90% lower in the playoffs than he did during the regular season.
Atlanta Hawks Power Forward: Paul Millsap has averaged 15 points along with nine rebounds per game in the playoffs. His shots have not fallen over his past two games at 10 for 31 combined shooting.
Atlanta Hawks Small Forward: DeMarre Carroll has put up 16 points a game with 6 ½ boards for the Hawks in the post season. In 35 minutes of play in Game 1, Carroll had just five points and one rebound. Carroll will have his hands full keeping an eye on LeBron James on defense to defend the goal. Carroll was hot in the closeout game against Washington in Game 6 with 25 points and ten rebounds.
Atlanta Hawks Center: Al Holford has been healthy this year and is numbers have been good. He is third on the team in playoff scoring at 15 points per game. Horford In Game 1 had 16 points along with seven rebounds.
