Two AL East division powers meet on Tuesday September 22nd as the Toronto Blue Jays will welcome into town the New York Yankees from Major League Baseball action. MLB fantasy draft managers cane tune to ESPN at 7PM Eastern Time from Toronto to follow the scoring results of their rosters.

These two teams are in a battle for the division lead down the stretch. The Toronto Blue Jays own a 3 ½ game lead over the New York Yankees in the AL East race with just 12 games left in the regular season. Toronto broke a two game losing streak as they defeated the New York Yankees in Game 1 of this series by the score of 4-2. The Blue Jays sit at the top of Major League Baseball in runs scored per game (5.50) and home runs this season (210). The club sits fifth in the league in team batting (.267). In their road defeat to begin this series on Monday the Yankees were held to just five hits and single runs in the eighth and ninth inning. The young right hander is 4-3 with an ERA of 3.12 and WHIP of 1.34. He bounced back after a bad home outing against Toronto by allowing one earned run and six hits over 5 2/3rd innings in a victory at Tampa Bay.

Fantasy Baseball Preview

It will be the fourth and final game of the series between the Minnesota Twins and Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday night. MLB draft managers can check out the results of their fantasy picks on August 6th at 7PM Eastern Time over MLB Network.

The Twins dropped the first two games of this series as they sit 54-52 entering play on Wednesday. The bats have been cold as the offense has pushed across just seven runs total in their past five games. As they took the field on Wednesday Minnesota has lost three straight and eight of ten games. The team may have overachieved early and falling back to their season numbers. They rank in the lower third of baseball offensively in team batting average and home runs. The Twins pitching staff sits in the lower third for WHIP and strike outs and are 19th in Team ERA.

Toronto has won three straight and six of seven games after their 3-1 win to Minnesota on Tuesday. They have been an outstanding offensive club sitting first in runs scored (5.27 per game), fifth in team batting (2.63) and third in MLB in homers (147). What has kept the team near or below .500 for much of the season has been the pitching staff. Toronto was busy at the trading deadline by acquiring David Price a much needed arm and getting shortstop Troy Tulowitzki from the Colorado Rockies.

Minnesota Twins 1B: Joe Mauer is hitting .266 with six homers and 44 RBIs. He is sitting on a 3 for 25 slump over the past 7 days.

Minnesota Twins 2B: Brian Dozier is among the slumping Twins hitters as he is 5 for 28 over his past seven days. Season to date Dozier is batting .250 with 23 homers and 57 RBIs.

Minnesota Twins RF: Torii Hunter is just 2 for his past 19 over his past seven days as the top hitters from the Twins are bad right now. On the year Hunter is batting .247 with 17 homers and 57 RBIs.

Minnesota Twins LF: Eddie Rosario is 1 for 12 in August. His average is .281 with five homers and 24 RBIs.

Minnesota Twins CF: Aaron Hicks joins the ranks of the slumping batters for Minnesota with a 1 for 15 in the month of August. On the season Hicks is hitting .278 with five homers and 18 RBIs.

Minnesota Twins P: Kyle Gibson has pitched well for Minnesota with a record of 8-8 with an ERA of 3.37. His last start was on August 1st as Gibson held Seattle to two earned runs and six hits in seven innings in a home victory.

Toronto Blue Jays 3B: Josh Donaldson has played well since coming over from the Oakland Athletics. Donaldson is batting .293 with 28 homers and 78 RBIs. He is batting .379 over his past seven days with four homers.

Toronto Blue Jays CF: Kevin Pillar is battling a 1 for 13 slump in the month of August. Pillar is batting .266 for the year with seven homers and 39 RBIs.

Toronto Blue Jays C: Russell Martin is batting .257 on the season with 15 homers and 49 RBIs.
