Arizona Diamondbacks versus LA Dodgers MLB Best Fantasy Picks 9-23-2015
Two NL West division clubs will meet from Major League Baseball action for Wednesday night as the LA Dodgers will host the Arizona Diamondbacks. MLB fantasy draft managers can tune to ESPN TV at 10:30PM Eastern Time to track the scoring results of their roster picks.
The Arizona Diamondbacks are a much improved team from the past few seasons. They won the first two games of this series and carry a record of 73-78 on the year. They have won two straight and four of five games on this road trip. Arizona is a good hitting team ranking sixth in baseball in runs scored (4.50 per game) and is fifth best in team batting average (.266). They are near the middle of the league at 17th in in Team ERA (4.01). The pitching has shown some improvement from previous seasons.
The LA Dodgers were looking pretty good with a sizable lead in the NL West division. But a recent slump has seen the club lose four straight and they hold a six game lead over the San Francisco Giants with just 12 games remaining. LA still has four games remaining against the San Francisco Giants next week so things can get quite interesting for the Dodgers if they can’t shake out of this slump. There are two games at home to Arizona and three on the road at Colorado before they make the trip to San Francisco for the four game series. LA pitching has allowed eight runs in each of the past two games against the Diamondbacks. The Dodgers have been carried by their pitching as the club is third best in both Team ERA (3.43) and WHIP (1.19). Their starting staff ranks fourth best in quality starts (90). Offensively LA ranks in the lower third of the league in runs scored per game (4.10) and team batting average (.251). They do live by the long ball with 176 homers on the year which is good for sixth best in baseball.
Arizona Diamondbacks CF:
The centerfielder leads the D’Backs everyday hitters with a .321 batting average with 18 homers and 70 RBIs. He had a two hit game with a homer and RBI in the win against the Dodgers on Tuesday. Pollock has multiple hits in five of his past six games as he is red hot over his past seven days with a .480 batting average.
Arizona Diamondbacks 1B:
The slugger leads the club in homers with 30 on the year and he has driven in 102 RBIs. On Tuesday Goldschmidt had two hits with a homer and RBI. He is batting .318 on the year.
Arizona Diamondbacks LF:
The 28 year old has hits in nine of his past ten games. Peralta has multiple hits in three of his past four games. On the season Peralta has a batting average of .313 with 16 homers and 76 RBIs.
Arizona Diamondbacks P:

LA Dodgers 1B:
Adrian Gonzalez after a hot start to the season has seen his average drop to .279 with 28 homers and 87 RBIs. He is hitting .246 for the month of September.

LA Dodgers SS:

Fantasy Baseball Preview – St-Louis Cardinals vs Arizona Diamondbacks – 8-24-15 – MLB
The St Louis Cardinals are on the road for Monday Night Baseball as they continue their west coast road trip by playing the Arizona Diamondbacks. Fantasy MLB draft mangers can set their TV to ESPN2 at 10PM Eastern Time to check out the real time scoring from their player rosters.
The Cardinals struggled to open up this west coast trip by losing the first two games to the San Diego Padres by a composite score of 17-3. Following the results on Saturday the team held just a three game lead in the loss column to the second place Pittsburgh Pirates. Still with the pitching woes of late the St Louis staff leads MLB in Team ERA (2.68) and quality starts (83). The Cardinals have been hit with injuries to impact players. They lost starter Adam Wainwright with an Achilles injury. Every day players in Matt Holliday, Jon Jay and Matt Adams are all on the disabled list.
Arizona returns home after a ten game road trip back east. They just swept a four game series with the Cincinnati Reds after their 4-0 road win on Sunday. They conclude the trip at 6-4 to move their record to 62-61. It is a huge improvement to the hopeless feeling this franchise felt with Kirk Gibson as the manager. With the Sunday victory the Diamondbacks sit six games in the loss column back of the LA Dodgers for first place in the division. The Diamondbacks have been outstanding as the club is third in runs scored (4.59) and fifth in batting average (2.65). The team hovers around 20th in Major League Baseball in key pitching categories in ERA and WHIP.
St Louis Cardinals RF: Jason Heyward is batting .287 with 11 homers and 43 RBIs. He had a two homer game on August 16th home to Miami.
St Louis Cardinals SS: Jhonny Peralta has been hitting of late. He is batting .350 the past seven days. Peralta has 16 homers and 56 RBIs currently.
St Louis Cardinals C: Yadier Molina has his average up to .281 with four homers and 48 RBIs. Molina has rallied the past few months after a slow start to the season.
St Louis Cardinals 3B: Matt Carpenter is looking to break a 3 for 21 slump. His average is down to .261 with 18 homers and 63 RBIs.
St Louis Cardinals 2B: Kolton Wong is ice cold right now as he is going through a 1 for 19 slump. Wong is batting .256 with 11 homers and 48 RBIs.
St Louis Cardinals P: Lance Lynn has started 23 times in 2015 and has a record of 9-8 with an ERA of 2.94 and WHIP of 1.31. He looks to break a two game losing streak. On August 18th home to San Francisco, Lynn allowed two earned runs over 6 2/3rd innings.
Arizona Diamondbacks 1B: Paul Goldschmidt leads the Diamondbacks hitters with a .330 batting average with 24 homers and 93 RBIs. He had a four hit game on Saturday in a road win at Cincinnati.
Arizona Diamondbacks CF: A.J. Pollock is on fire as he is batting .421 for the month of August. His average is now up to .324 with 13 homers and 54 RBIs. In the first three games against the Reds, Pollock is 11 for 15. He got a day of rest on Sunday.
Arizona Diamondbacks RF: Ender Inciarte has a batting average of .295 with four homers and 34 RBIs. He has multiple hits in two of his past four games.
Arizona Diamondbacks LF: David Peralta has been hot in the month of August by batting .349 with three homers and 16 RBIs. His average is .294 with 13 homers and 66 RBIs.
Arizona Diamondbacks 3B: Jake Lamb is trying to break out of a slump as he goes 2 for 3 in the win on Sunday at Cincinnati. Entering Sunday he had been mired in a 2 for 21 slump.
Arizona Diamondbacks P: Robbie Ray makes his 16th start and is 3-9 with an ERA of 3.38 and WHIP of 1.25. Ray gets absolutely no run support. The Diamondbacks have scored one run in three of Ray’s past four starts.
