Seattle Seahawks versus San Francisco 49ers Thursday Night Football Real Money Fantasy League Picks 10-22-2015
It will be a battle in the NFC West from Thursday Night Football as the San Francisco 49ers will be hosting the Seattle Seahawks. DFS draft GM’s can tune to CBS TV on October 22nd at 8:30PM Eastern Time to follow the results of their one day league rosters.
Both teams are 2-4 as they enter play on Thursday night. Seattle has dominated the 49ers in recent years as they have won three straight and five of their past six games. The 49ers had trouble scoring on the Seattle defense last year with just seven points on the road and three points at home in their two regular season games. This may be a different defense for Seattle than in previous seasons. They have lost two straight blowing fourth quarter leads in each game. There is some turmoil amongst the secondary as there have been blown coverages and heated discussions on the field between the Seahawks personnel. The Seattle defense surrendered 135 rushing yards and 248 yards passing to the Panthers last week. What was more surprising is the fact that the Seahawks allowed three rushing touchdowns to Carolina last week in front of their home fans. The Seahawks offense sits 27th in passing yards and has contributed to a 22 points per game average which ranks in the lower half of the league.
The San Francisco 49ers broke a four game losing streak last week as they defeated the Baltimore Ravens by the score of 25-20. The 49ers exploited a bad Ravens pass defense as quarterback Colin Kaepernick completed 16 passes but they went for 340 yards and two touchdowns. The team needs to be better in the red zone as the club was a disappointing 0 of 3 in their red zone drives. The 49ers have defended better at home. At home to Minnesota they allowed three points, home to Green Bay 17 points and 20 points last week to the Ravens. San Francisco has struggled offensively as they are 30th in total offense by pushing across 321 yards per game.
Seattle Seahawks QB:
The fourth year pro is hitting on 69% of his throws for 1433 yards with seven touchdowns and three picks. He is not afraid to run the football with 45 carries for 251 yards for 5.6 yards per carry. In the loss to the Panthers, Wilson was 18 for 30 for 241 yards with a touchdown. Wilson has a touchdown pass in each game this year.
Seattle Seahawks RB:
Marshawn Lynch has been hobbled by a hamstring problem and his numbers are way down. Rookie Thomas Rawls has 59 carries for 334 yards and a touchdown. He had a big game at Cincinnati where he had 23 carries for 169 yards and a touchdown. With Lynch hurt expect Rawls to get carries on a short week.
Seattle Seahawks TE:
The tight end leads the club with 29 catches for 344 yards with two touchdowns. He caught eight balls last week against Carolina for a season high for 140 yards and 17.5 yards per catch average.
Seattle Seahawks WR:
The fifth year wide out leads the unit with 26 catches for 291 yards with two touchdowns. He has only been targeted an average of 3 ½ times the past four games. Last week Baldwin had three catches for 23 yards.
San Francisco 49ers QB:
After a bad start Colin Kaepernick has improved his play against the Giants and Ravens the past two weeks. The issue is that those two teams are very bad pass defenses. Kaepernick threw for 340 yards as he hit on 16 of 27 with two touchdowns and no picks last week on the Ravens.
San Francisco 49ers RB:
The 49ers back has rushed it 104 times for 430 yards and three touchdowns. He had just 55 yards on 21 carries last week.
San Francisco 49ers WR:
Boldin leads the team with 28 catches for 333 yards and two touchdowns. He has picked up his production the past two weeks with 107 yards receiving against the Giants and 102 yards last week against the Ravens.
