NFL Week 5 Fantasy Football Value Picks
Jay Cutler (CHI @ KC): The Bears are facing a weak Chiefs defense week 5 has allowed almost 300 passing yards per game over the past 4 weeks and allowed over 20 points scored against them in their 1-3 season so far. Cutler had a solid performance last week returning after from his hamstring injury and may have his Allstar receiver Alshon Jeffery as a target in Week 5.
Fanpicks Salary: $6800
Projection: 22.1 fantasy points
Colin Kaepernick (SF @ NYG): Stick with me here. He has had a couple very rough games but he has a very large upside as a running quarterback. If he can replicate his performance from week 2 with over 300 passing yards, 2 touchdowns, and 50 rushing yards he will provide huge fantasy value. Plus he comes at a bargain, will likely have very low ownership, and is facing a Giants defense that has allowed over 300 yards in the first 3 weeks against opponents.
Fanpicks Salary: $6400
Projection: 20.4 fantasy points
Todd Gurley (STL @ GB): He has a lot of momentum going into this game. Last week against the Cardinals, Gurley ran for almost 150 yards but the stats don’t it all. He had an open touchdown in the last play of the game but went down to run down the clock instead of running it in. While he faces a tougher defense this week, look for him to be given more playtime.
Fanpicks Salary: $4400
Projection: 20.6 fantasy points
T.J. Yeldon (Jax @ TB): I have been counting on Yeldon week after week and he has failed to perform so far. However, he averages almost 20 attempts per game as well as 2 or 3 receptions. The problem is he has only averaged about 3 yards per carry and has not gotten a touchdown this year. I’m sticking with Yeldon this week against the Buccaneers and think this is his week for a breakout.
Fanpicks Salary: $4900
Projection: 19.9 fantasy points
Leonard Hankerson (Was @ Atl): While he as been overshadowed in the offense by the likes of Freeman and Jones, Hankerson has been putting up solid numbers all year. He has a pair of touchdowns this year and averaged 60 receiving yards per game. Nothing huge yet so far but he has a large upside if Julio finds himself covered.
Fanpicks Salary: $4600
Projection: 21.4 fantasy points
Jordan Matthews (NO @ Phi): He has not put up impressive numbers the past couple of weeks after a strong start to the season but look for him to come back strong this week against a weak New Orleans pass defense. You’re going to spend a little extra on Matthews but look for him to perform on the same level as premium receivers like Edelman, Brown, and Sanders.
Fanpicks Salary: $7100
Projection: 25.8 fantasy points
