New York Yankees vs Los Angeles Angels – 7/1/15 MLB Fantasy Sports, Baseball Picks, Odds & Predictions
The New York Yankees and LA Angels will close out their three game series on Wednesday July 1st. MLB draft managers can follow the results of their rosters picks from Anaheim at 7PM Eastern Time over ESPN TV.
The Yankees had a five game win streak against the Angels and saw that streak end as LA earned a 4-1 victory in the opener of this series on Monday. The Yankees have had some issues pushing across runs on this trip as they have been held to one run or less in three of their past five games heading into Tuesday.
As the Angels took the field on Tuesday the club had won three straight. The pitching has been outstanding as the club has given up a total of nine runs total over their past five games as they defeated the Yankees on Monday. Despite their struggles at the plate the Angels pitching has helped the team win some very close games of late.
New York Yankees LF: Brett Gardner will be sorry to see the month of June come to an end. Gardner is batting .355 for the month and has five homers and 18 RBIs. He extended his hitting streak to eight games as he got a hit on Tuesday.
New York Yankees DH: Nearly halfway through the season Alex Rodriguez is batting .281. He has produced good power numbers with 15 homers, 45 RBIs and a slugging percentage of .512. He had four homers and 18 RBIs in the month of June. Rodriguez will turn 40 later in July and it will be interesting to see if he can keep up this production in the dog days of summer.
New York Yankees C: Brian McCann is battling a 3 of 16 slump as he enters play on Wednesday. His average has fallen to .265 with 12 homers and 49 RBIs. He has just three extra base hits over his past ten games.
New York Yankees RF: Veteran Carlos Beltran had a good month of June with a batting average of .308 with three homers and 9 RBIs. He is 2 for 6 in the series with the Angels.
New York Yankees 1B: Mark Teixeira has produced power numbers with 19 homers and 54 RBIs on the year. His batting average is .246 with a high number of strikeouts. He had a homer on Tuesday.
New York Yankees P: Nathan Eovaldi has a high ERA of 4.81 but a record of 7-2 on the year. He had a very poor start at Miami on June 16th where he couldn’t get out of the first inning and gave up eight runs to the Marlins. He bounced back with two wins in a row in effective starts against the Astros and Tigers.
LA Angels CF: Mike Trout has his average at .303 with 20 homers and 43 RBIs. He had a two hit game in the win on Tuesday against the Yankees. Trout has a slugging percentage of .582 on the season.
LA Angels 1B: Albert Pujols had a tremendous month of June with a batting average of .305 with 12 homers and 25 RBIs. He raised his batting average to .265 and his slugging percentage to .558. Pujols has an RBI in both games of this series.
LA Angels SS: Erick Aybar is coming off a two hit night with a home run in Tuesday’s game. He is batting .375 over the past seven days. Aybar does not produce many extra base hits though as he sits with a .325 slugging percentage.
LA Angels 2B: Johnny Giavotella is batting .263 with three homers and 27 RBIs. His batting average has dropped nearly 20 points the past ten games and he has just one extra base hit during that span.
LA Angels P: Matt Shoemaker has a 4-6 record with an ERA of 5.03. His recent home outings have been very good as opposing lineups have done their damage lately to Shoemaker in his road starts. A concern is he has given up 11 home runs over his past ten games and the Yankees are a home run hitting team.
