New Orleans Saints versus Carolina Panthers Fantasy Football Daily League Draft Preview
NFL Fantasy Football Draft News 9-22-2015
It will be an NFC South divisional matchup in week three as the Carolina Panthers will be hosting the New Orleans Saints. NFL Fantasy GM’s can tune to FOX on Sunday September 27th to check out the results of their draft picks.
The teams met twice during the regular season in 2014 with the teams splitting their two meetings each winning on the road. The game held in Carolina was won by New Orleans 28-10.
The Saints enter this contest a desperate team at 0-2 on the season. After a 31-19 road loss in week one they hosted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and were embarrassed at home losing 26-19. The Saints in two games are averaging just 19 points a game ranking 24th in the league. The have moved the football well through the air but their run game has not improved as they run for 79 yards a game ranking 25th in the league. During the Saints success in postseason play they always had a good balance of run and pass. There were also some signs that Drew Brees could be ailing as media reports have Brees complaining of shoulder pain last week. He was sacked four times on Sunday. It’s hard to explain how the Saints could have just seven points at home against the Buccaneers after three quarters.
The Carolina Panthers enter play at 2-0 on the campaign. After a 20-9 road win to Jacksonville in week one the team hosted the Houston Texans and came away with a 24-17 victory. The Panthers successfully defended a drive by the Texans deep in Carolina territory to preserve the victory as Houston was forced to turn the ball over on downs in the closing seconds. It was a 10-10 tie midway through the third quarter then the Panthers responded with 14 unanswered points until the Texans got within a touchdown with 6 ½ minutes remaining.
