Even though the Warriors have an incredible record…well, potentially on pace to become the best record ever by any NBA Basketball in history, it’s unfortunate to say that they’re regressing and that this may be the worst timing possible for it. Despite having one 4 of their last 6 games, two of those wins were in overtime against teams that hugely lack competition. They’re having a lot of trouble to end games and the 4th quarter slides are becoming more frequent, win or lose. With that being said, Golden State still took care of San Antonio earlier this week in a 112-101 win. But the real trouble is traveling to San Antonio as they’ve lost so far an amazing 33 straight regular season games in Texas against the Spurs. Mostly, the Spurs just haven’t loss this season at all at home. This is potentially an NBA playoffs game 7 type of energy that they will need to beat the Spurs. The Warriors are a rare underdog heading into the biggest obstacle on their 73 win record path.
San Antonio heads into this game losing 2 games in a row as there’s not much for them to play for anymore this regular season. The Spurs are sitting comfortably in the 2nd spot of the Western Conference and just can’t move up or down at this point. However, one thing does matter and the fact they can become the first team in NBA history to maintain a perfect record for the entire season. One thing does matter though, as the Spurs can become the first team in NBA history to maintain a perfect home record for the entire season. This would be quite an accomplishment and this franchise just does not stop succeeding for almost 2 decades. The Spurs are a favorite in this game which should be quite interesting.
