Nascar QS400 Sprint Cup Fantasy Preview
NASCAR heads to the state of Kentucky for the Sprint Cup Series on Saturday July 11th. The race begins from Sparta Kentucky at 7:45PM Eastern Time and NASCAR fantasy league managers can tune to NBC Sports Network to follow the results of their rosters.
A total of 43 riders will be on the starting grid for the 400.5 mile race. Rain has disrupted much of the on track practice time for the drivers on this 1 ½ mile tri-oval.
Jimmie Johnson: Has four wins in 2015 and is third in earnings. He took second place during the Sprint Cup Series at Daytona last week. Johnson won at Dover, Kansas City, Texas and Atlanta.
Kevin Harvick: Has two wins and 12 Top 5 finishes on the year. Harvick is the leading money winner on the circuit. He has back to back fourth place finishes at Dayton and Sonoma on the Sprint Cup Series.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.: Has two wins with nine Top 5 finishes on tour. He is coming off a win at Daytona last week. Three races prior Jr. took home second place at Michigan. His other win came at Talladega.
Kurt Busch: Busch has two wins and seven Top 5 finishes in his 14 starts in 2015. Three races back Busch won at Michigan then followed up with a second place result at Sonoma. Last week in Daytona it was a fifth place finish for Kurt Busch.
Joey Logano: Logano has posted a win with nine Top 5 finishes in his 17 starts on the season. The 25 year old had a disappointing 25th place finish at Daytona last week in the Sprint Cup series. Prior to that were fifth place finishes at Sonoma and Michigan.
Martin Truex Jr: The Chevrolet driver has a win in his 17 starts in 2015. After winning Pocono, Truex Jr. finished third at Michigan. Then came some poor finishes like a 42nd placing two weeks back at Sonoma and last week a 38th place finish at Daytona.
Brad Keselowski: The 26 year old has a win and three Top 5 finishes in his 2015 campaign. His win came back on March 22nd in California. Keselowski has finished 12th or worse in four of his past five races.
Denny Hamlin: The veteran Hamlin has picked up a single win in his 17 starts on the year with four Top 5 placements. Hamlin has his best result in five races last week with a fifth place finish at Daytona. His lone victory came on March 29th at Martinsville.
Carl Edwards: Edwards is having an off year for his standards with a win and only two Top 10 finishes on tour. He won on May 24th at Charlotte. He disappointed with a 40th placing two weeks ago at Sonoma and finished 41st last week at Daytona during the Sprint Cup Series.
Matt Kenseth: In his 17 starts on the year the 43 year old has a win and five Top 5 finishes. The win came at Bristol on April 19th. Last week Kenseth finished 23rd at Daytona and two weeks back it was a 21st placement at Sonoma.
Jamie McMurray: He is looking for his first win in 2015. McMurray has produced just two Top 5 finishes on the season. They came at Richmond on April 25th with a fifth place finish and at Phoenix on March 15th.
Jeff Gordon: The veteran is in his final season as he announced his retirement at seasons end. Gordon is sitting 12th of 16 drives for the Sprint Cup Chase. Gordon had no wins in his 17 starts with only two Top 5 finishes. He produced a third place finish at Bristol on April 19th with a fourth place effort on May 9th at Kansas City. Last week saw Gordon post his best result in six weeks by finishing in sixth place at Daytona during the Sprint Cup Series.
Clint Bowyer: The veteran sits on the bubble in 16th place in the Chase. Bowyer has no wins with one Top 5 finish on the season. He had a third place effort two races back at Sonoma. Bowyer finished 10th last week at Daytona.
