MLB Daily Fantasy Baseball Notables

  • After two days off, Pirates catcher Francisco Cervelli will likely return to the lineup. Cervelli is hitting .391 with a .891 OPS against left-handers.
  • Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez will be making his third career start at Tropicana Field, where he hasn’t fared well. He’s allowed six runs in 9 1/3 innings and has a 5.79 ERA.
  • After getting more than halfway to Joe DiMaggio’s illustrious hitting streak on Wednesday, Red Sox Jackie Bradley Jr. is five games from tying Dom DiMaggio for the longest streak in franchise history. Bradley is trying to become the fourth Red Sox player to hit in 30 straight games.
  • Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado is tied for second in the Majors with 14 home runs. He has seven at home and seven on the road.
  • Kansas City Third baseman Mike Moustakas has not started the last three games after sustaining a bruised left knee in a collision with Alex Gordon last Sunday against the White Sox in Chicago. Moustakas was hopeful to be ready for the White Sox series, but he will be examined by Royals doctors on Thursday prior to the game.
