Milwaukee Bucks vs Houston Rockets – 01/22/16 Preview
The Milwaukee Bucks (19-25) will take on the Houston Rockets (22-22) on Friday night at Toyota Center in Houston. The Rockets are the odd favorites to win (line: -3). Here is the projected lineup:
The Bucks are coming strong into this game having won 3 straight victories and finally able to close in on the playoff picture. They defeated the Miami Heat 91-79 this past Wednesday with Khris Middleton recording 22 pts, 7 rebounds and 2 steals in 36 minutes of play. Greg Monroe posted 15 pts, 10 rebounds, 1 block and an assist making it his 8 double-double in the past 10 games. Star O.J. Mayo missed 3 games in a row due to a hamstring injury and remains with an unknown status for Friday. With Jason Kidd expecting to rejoin the team on Tuesday, the Bucks are 8-7 under interim head coach Joe Prunty.
The Rockets are coming back from 2 hard-fought and close losses. Most recently, they were defeated by the Detroit Pistons 123-114. Dwight Howard’s departure early in the first minute of the game due to a sprained left ankle is clearly the biggest lost. After undergoing an MRI on Thursday, Howard has been ruled out of Friday’s game. All Star James Harden got to work as usual on Wednesday to record his first triple double of the season with 33 points, 17 rebounds, 14 assists, 1 steal. Also questionable for Friday are Montrezl Harrel and guards Patrick Beverley & Jason Terry. This is the first matchup of the season between both teams with the Rockets sweeping the series last season.
