Memphis Grizzlies vs Portland Trailblazers – 4/27/15 NBA Playoff Fantasy Sports, Basketball Picks, Odds & Predictions
The bail out game for NBA fantasy managers will take place in the Pacific Northwest as the Portland Trailblazers will try and stay alive in their playoff series against the Memphis Grizzlies. Portland is home for Game 4 that begins at 10:30PM Eastern Time over TNT TV.
It has been all Memphis in the first three games of this playoff series as they hold a 3-0 lead after winning Game 3 on Saturday in Portland. The Trailblazers have not defended very well as the tallest team in the NBA is having difficulty dealing with both Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph in the low post. Missing from the Trailblazers roster is backup guard Wes Matthews who was lost for the season with an Achilles’ tear. The Grizzlies suffered a major injury to their cause as defensive stopper and guard Mike Conley is out after going under surgery with broken bones on his face. It could be a somber moment for the Portland Trailblazers fan base as it could be the last game for LaMarcus Aldridge as a Portland Trailblazers. He is a free agent at the end of the season and going to be pursued by many teams. Rumor is San Antonio is eying Aldridge for a max free agent contract.
Memphis Grizzlies Point Guard: With injury to Mike Conley it will be Beno Udrih seeing significant minutes in Game 4. Urdih has been nursing a bad ankle but media reports have him playing on Monday. He had a monster Game 1 in the Trailblazers 100-86 victory with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists making 9 of 14 shots. In Game 2 Udrih had 19 minutes of play and scored ten points. He did not play in Game 3 on Saturday.
Memphis Grizzlies Shooting Guard: Courtney Lee is averaging a team high 32 minutes in the playoffs and is third in scoring at nearly 16 points per game. He is shooting 62% from the field in the three games against the Trailblazers. If fouled his is making free throws at 12 of 13 from the charity stripe.
Memphis Grizzlies Power Forward: Zach Randolph is grabbing 8 rebounds and scoring 14 points per game in the postseason. Randolph and Gasol are getting the job done for Memphis on the glass and both open up outside shooting opportunities for the Grizzlies guards and forwards.
Memphis Grizzlies Small Forward: Jeff Green has one start and Tony Allen two starts at this position. Both are playing nearly identical minutes approaching 29 each. Green is averaging nearly ten points a game and Allen the defensive specialist at 5 points per contest. Each is grabbing nearly six rebounds per game.
Memphis Grizzlies Center: Marc Gasol is the Grizzlies leading scorer in the playoffs at 18 per game. He is contributing in others areas with 8 rebounds and 5 assists per game. The height and length of the Trailblazers are impacting Gasol’s shooting percentage as he is just making 35% of his shots in the series. He is drawing fouls and getting to the free throw line with 24 shots attempted in the series.
Portland Trailblazers Point Guard: Damian Lillard is playing 40 minutes a game and averaging 18 points per game in the playoffs. He is having difficulty making shots as the Grizzlies have defended him well as Lillard is making just 35% from the floor. After two bad shooting games in Memphis, Lillard bounced back with a 22 point performance in Game 3.
Portland Trailblazers Shooting Guard: With the injury to Wes Matthews its C.J. McCollum getting 31 minutes per game in this series. He is averaging 11 points and very little else. He has failed to step up in this playoff series with a 34% shooting percentage.
Portland Trailblazers Power Forward: LaMarcus Aldridge leads the Blazers with nearly 26 points a game and 43 minutes in the post season. The free agent to be has worked hard on the glass averaging nearly 12 rebounds per game. With the two strong big men in the paint for the Grizzlies Aldridge has struggled with his shot hitting just 36% in this series.
Portland Trailblazers Shooting Forward: Nicolas Batum has picked up his scoring over 8 points over regular season average with nearly 18 points per game in the postseason. With the Grizzlies keying on Lillard and Aldridge it is Batum getting opportunities.
Portland Trailblazers Center: Robin Lopez has not been very productive. He is averaging 26 minutes and scoring just five points and grabbing six rebounds. Backup Meyers Leonard is getting half of Lopez’ time at 13 minutes per game with five points and five rebounds per game average.
