Angels Lose to Athletics on Thursday and Fell ½ Back of Astros in AL Wildcard Race
The LA Angels were hot team winners of seven straight as they closed out their series with the Oakland Athletics on Thursday afternoon. Things looked good with Garrett Richards on the mound against a dead team. They could have put pressure on the Astros as Houston played hours later on Thursday night. The Angels gloves failed them as Oakland wins 8-7 by scoring seven unearned runs on the LA pitching staff.

Houston pushed over a single run in the seventh inning and the Astros bullpen held the lead in the late innings for the win.
