New York Mets versus LA Dodgers Game 5 MLB NLDS Fantasy Preview 10-15-2015
It will be a deciding Game 5 from the NLDS series as the LA Dodgers will be home to the New York Mets. Fantasy baseball draft GM’s can tune to TBS TV on Thursday October 15th at 8PM Eastern Time to track the results of their fantasy rosters.
Each team is 1-1 at home and away in this series. New York held a 2-1 lead heading into Game 4 and it was the LA Dodgers with the 3-1 road victory to even the series at 2-2 to bring the fifth and deciding Game 5 to LA. Left hander Clayton Kershaw pitched very well as he allowed the Mets one earned run and three hits over seven innings. Closer Kenley Jansen pitched a four out save as he held New York scoreless in 1 1/3rd innings.
In the two games held in Dodgers Stadium it was the Mets winning Game 1 by the score of 3-1 and LA came from behind in Game 2 to tie the series at 1-1 with the 5-2 victory. Game 3 was a 13-7 home blowout victory by NY against the Dodgers. Justin Turner came in with a clutch hit and made an outstanding defensive play in the seventh inning to help preserve the 3-1 Game 4 victory. The Dodgers have been a power hitting team with 187 home runs this season ranking sixth best in MLB.
New York struggled against Kershaw in Game 4. They were forced to fly cross-country trips three times in this series while the LA Dodgers took just two cross-country flights from the NLDS. The Mets have had trouble hitting for average as the club bats .244 on the year ranking 28th in Major League Baseball.
New York Mets RF:
The Mets right fielder has been hot in the NLDS with a .429 batting average with two doubles. He has had two hits in three of the four games of this series.
New York Mets LF:
Cespedes had hits in three straight playoff games. The left fielder had three hits in Game 3 in the Mets 13-7 victory. He is 1 for 5 life time against Zach Greinke.
New York Mets 2B:
The Mets middle infielder has four hits in seventeen at bats in this series but two of the hits were home runs and he has driven in three runs in the NLDS.
New York Mets P:
The Mets 27 year old lefthander went 14-8 in 30 starts with an ERA of 2.54 and WHIP of 0.98. In Game 1 against the Dodgers Degrom earned the win as he allowed no earned runs and five hits working seven innings.
LA Dodgers 3B:
A former Met Justin Turner is batting .467 in the NLCS with three RBIs. He is 7 of 15 with three doubles and two runs scored. Turner has hits in all four games with multiple hits in three of the four games.
LA Dodgers CF:
The 24 year old hit .307 in the regular season. In the NLDS Hernandez has hit .400 with three runs scored.
LA Dodgers 1B:
The LA veteran first baseman is hitting .313 in the Met series with five RBIs. He went 3 for 8 against DeGrom in his career with two homers and five RBIs.
LA Dodgers P:
The LA right hander is 19-3 with an ERA of 1.66 and WHIP of 0.84. He faced the Mets in Game 2 of this series on October 10th and allowed two earned runs and five hits over seven innings in a 5-2 victory.
