Mets/Royals Game 2 Recap:
The Kansas City Royals took a 2-0 series lead in the best of seven World Series after their 7-1 home victory to the New York Mets. It was all about the big inning for the Royals as they pushed across four runs in the fifth and three runs in the eighth inning in their victory. KC had a great outing by right hander Johnny Cueto has he pitched a complete game nine innings as he allowed just one earned run and two hits. Kansas City had base runners on all night as they left runs on the table with 18 runners left on base.
New York was hoping for a better outing from Jacob DeGrom but the right hander was lit up for four earned runs, six hits with three walks over five innings of work. Left hander Jon Niese in relief gave up for three earned runs which allowed the Royals to get some margin on the Mets in the late innings. With Game 3 of the World Series in a National League park there will be no DH in this game.
Kansas City Royals SS:
The Royals shortstop is batting .364 in the playoffs with a homer and eight RBIs. He is hitting over .100 points higher than he did in the regular season. He has hits in ten straight games.
Kansas City Royals 1B:
The first baseman had the game winning RBI in Game 1. He returned with another two RBI performance in Game 2 as he had a two hit night. Hosmer is batting .231 in the playoffs but has been productive with his 12 hits in the postseason with 15 RBIs.
