The Houston Astros travels to the Rangers to open this series on Monday night with a record of 77-68. They hold just a one game lead in the loss column to the Texas Rangers atop the AL West with just 19 games remaining to be played. The clubs last met in early August in a series played at Houston with the Rangers sweeping all three games. The Astros continue this road trip with a 2-4 start losing two of three at Oakland and losing two of three at the LA Angels. Houston goes to Texas with momentum as they overcame a 3-0 deficit at the LA Angels on Sunday with two out rally to push across 5 runs to earn a 5-3 victory and avoid a sweep.

The Texas Rangers will host the Astros in this key pennant race series winning two of three games at home to the Oakland Athletics. They piled up 12 runs on the Athletics staff to close out the series on Sunday afternoon. The Rangers have rallied in the AL West despite ranking 25th in Team ERA (4.31) and 26th in baseball in WHIP (1.37).

Houston Astros 2B: Jose Altuve has multiple hits in two straight and three of his past four games. He has moved his batting average up to .313 with 11 homers and 58 RBIs.
