The St Louis Cardinals are on the road for Monday Night Baseball as they continue their west coast road trip by playing the Arizona Diamondbacks. Fantasy MLB draft mangers can set their TV to ESPN2 at 10PM Eastern Time to check out the real time scoring from their player rosters.

The Cardinals struggled to open up this west coast trip by losing the first two games to the San Diego Padres by a composite score of 17-3. Following the results on Saturday the team held just a three game lead in the loss column to the second place Pittsburgh Pirates. Still with the pitching woes of late the St Louis staff leads MLB in Team ERA (2.68) and quality starts (83). The Cardinals have been hit with injuries to impact players. They lost starter Adam Wainwright with an Achilles injury. Every day players in Matt Holliday, Jon Jay and Matt Adams are all on the disabled list.

Arizona returns home after a ten game road trip back east. They just swept a four game series with the Cincinnati Reds after their 4-0 road win on Sunday. They conclude the trip at 6-4 to move their record to 62-61. It is a huge improvement to the hopeless feeling this franchise felt with Kirk Gibson as the manager. With the Sunday victory the Diamondbacks sit six games in the loss column back of the LA Dodgers for first place in the division. The Diamondbacks have been outstanding as the club is third in runs scored (4.59) and fifth in batting average (2.65). The team hovers around 20th in Major League Baseball in key pitching categories in ERA and WHIP.
