Daniel Sedin failed to score a goal in his last 3 games. He stands even with Markus Naslund for the all-time Vancouver lead with 346 goals. His brother, Henrik, will miss some time after sustaining an upper-body injury late in the first period of a 2-1 shootout win at the New York Islanders on Sunday. Rookie Jared McCann centered the top line alongside Daniel Sedin and Jannik Hansen at practice Monday, while Bo Horvat took Henrik’s place on the top power-play unit. . Forward Brandon Sutter, who has been out since mid-November after having sports hernia surgery, started skating again. Forwards Brandon Prust and Jake Virtanen took turns skating on a line with Linden Vey and Emerson Etem during practice. Virtanen didn’t play Sunday, but the 19 year-old is expected to return to the lineup tonight.


The Rangers had a day off Monday after playing a back-to-back games over the weekend. They defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 in a shootout Saturday and losing 5-2 to the Washington Capitals on Sunday. Defenseman Kevin Klein sustained a thumb injury in Saturday’s Flyers game; he didn’t play against the Capitals and is day-to-day. Expected starter Henrik Lundqvist has 4 wins and 4 losses against Vancouver with a 2.03 goals-against average, .937 save percentage and two shutouts. Forward Chris Kreider has been hot lately, scoring three goals in his past two games and four points in his past three. The Rangers have alternated wins and losses over their past 10 games and haven’t won consecutive games since November 2015.
