Minnesota will try to put an end to their 6 game road losing streak and build on last Sunday’s win over the Phoenix Suns. It marked the Timberwolves 2nd highest scoring tally of the season. Ricky Rubio and Andrew Wiggins led with a pair of 18-point efforts, while standout rookie Karl-Anthony Towns scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. 4 of Minnesota’s reserves, Gorgui Dieng, Shabazz Muhammad, Zach LaVine and Kevin Martin, posted double-digit scoring. The blowout win snapped their 9 game losing streak.
The Pelicans have improved recently. After a stretch in which they lost 6 of 7 games, New Orleans bounced back with consecutive victories over the Sacramento Kings and Charlotte Hornets. Monday, they suffered a heartbreaking 101-99 defeat at the hands of the Memphis Grizzlies. Despite the loss, they’ve showed a lot of good stuff that stretch. During pre-game warmups, Tyreke Evans experienced some knee soreness and missed the Grizzlies contest, leaving Norris Cole and Jrue Holiday to man the point. Holiday registered 23 points and 9 assists. Anthony Davis collected 21 points and 8 rebounds. If Evans is unable to take the floor again, Cole should receive the start with Holiday filling in as back up.
