Fantasy basketball The Cavaliers continue to roll at first place in the East, a position they’ve become accustomed to for most of their campaign this season, and a riding a four-game winning streak into Washington. The team is fresh off a home court decimation of the Toronto Raptors on Monday night, 122-100. Kyle Lowry led Cleveland in scoring with a season-best 25 points, adding 6 rebounds and 8 assists in the process. J.R. Smith was in rare form from long range in the win that saw him drain eight three-pointers en route to a 24-point night. The Cavs shot 55.4% from the field, much improved from their 44.8% average on the season. Wednesday marks the first of a six-game road stint for Cleveland that will see them face the likes of the Mavericks, Rockets and Spurs.

Washington has brought their inconsistent play into the new year, getting routed by the visiting Miami Heat on Sunday, 97-75. The highest points producer for the Wizards was John Wall, with only 14 points in the loss. Marcin Gortat managed a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds as part of a performance that makes the team look like a shell of the dark horse contender out of the East last season. Washington shot an abysmal 34.1% from the field and 13.8% from downtown and are dead last in the Southeast Division. Things won’t get easier for the injury-plagued Wizards (who only saw nine players take the court on Sunday) as they face stiff competition from Toronto, Chicago and Indiana within the next week.
