Fantasy basketball The Clippers are playing their best basketball of the season and it’s coming at a rather strange time. They lost Blake Griffin last month to a quad injury and have been winning non-stop since. In fact, the Clippers come into this game in the midst of a season-long six-game winning streak. The team has opted to go to small-ball and everyone is performing better because of it. The most encouraging part about that recent six-game winning streak is that the defense is playing far better than before. It’s scary to think that Griffin is due back soon and this team will ultimately improve.

The Blazers have also been playing without one of their best players recently and also playing better without him. The Trail Blazers had won four of their last five games before Damian Lillard returned for their last game, in which they lost to the Memphis Grizzlies. Lillard really struggled there as his stroke was off and he committed seven turnovers in the loss. It’s bizarre that this team is playing better without Lillard and the only direct correlation is the team’s defense when he’s in the lineup. In any case, Lillard is still one of the elite point guards in the NBA and they are surely a better team with him in the lineup than out of it. What Portland has been thriving off of this season is their surprising rebounding, as they rank fifth in rebounds per game. This should be a close game, as the Clippers come into this matchup as a four-point favorite.
