Starting Lineup The Mavericks head into Chicago for the second game of three-game road trip, bringing their 11-11 road record with them. The Mavericks are coming off a 108-89 loss to the Thunder on Wednesday night. Dallas was extremely short-handed in the contest, as they rested four of their five starters due to the heavy minutes they logged the night before in an overtime win loss to the Cavaliers. J.J. Barea led the team in scoring on Wednesday with 18 points (7-15 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-3 FT), alongside six assists and three rebounds. All the regular starters should return to the lineup for Friday’s matchup after their night of rest. The Mavericks are 7-9 against Eastern Conference opponents this season. One of those victories came against the Bulls on Dec.26, when Barea led Dallas to 118-111 victory.

The Bulls return home Friday after snapping a three-game slide by the narrowest of margins on Thursday, with a 115-111 overtime victory over the woeful 76ers. One reason for Chicago’s recent skid can be attributed to the health of the team. Derrick Rose sat out of Thursday’s win due to tendinitis in his left knee. The former MVP has already made it clear that he will be available for Friday’s contest. In Rose’s absence, Jimmy Butler took charge of the game, scoring a career-high 53 points (15-30 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 21-25 FT), along with 10 rebounds, six assists, and three steals. The Bulls look to defend their 16-6 mark at home this season. Chicago is 9-4 against the Western Conference this season.
