Tennessee Volunteers versus Alabama Crimson Tide College Football Fantasy Preview 10-24-2015

From the SEC conference the Alabama Crimson Tide will meet the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday college football. DFS draft managers can check out this game at 3:30PM Eastern Time on October 24th on CBS TV from Alabama to track the results of their fantasy football roster picks.

In their meeting in 2014 it was Alabama defeating Tennessee by the score of 34-20 on the road. Alabama has had good offensive success in their previous recent meetings with the Volunteers. The Crimson Tide has scored 34 or greater points in their past five meetings with Tennessee dating back to the 2010 season.

The Volunteers will be entering this game off a bye week and is 3-3 on the season. Their three losses have been by four points or less. They played Florida tough losing 28-27 on the road on September 26th. Two weeks ago the Volunteers hosted the Georgia Bulldogs and came away with the 38-31 victory. They moved the ball very well on the Bulldogs defense by putting up 519 yards of offense. They struggled against the run allowing 165 yards rushing to the Bulldogs for over 5 ½ yards per carry. On the year Tennessee is 92nd in college football in passing defense as they give up 248 yards per game.

Alabama had a major test last week as they had to travel to a hot Texas A&M Aggies team. The Crimson Tide was a bigger and stronger team and came away with the 41-23 victory on the road to Texas A&M. After allowing 43 points to Ole Miss in a loss the Crimson Tide has given up no greater than 23 points per game since. In the victory against the Aggies the Crimson Tide ran effectively for 258 yards for over 5 ½ yards per rush. The Alabama defense stuffed the A&M run game giving up just 32 yards on 25 carries and the picked off four passes. The Crimson Tide ranks third in total defense by allowing 271 yards per game.

Tennessee Volunteers QB:

Joshua Dobbs

The junior quarterback has seen significant work in all three years with the program. Dobbs is completing 58% of his throws for 1101 yards with eight touchdowns and two picks. He is a major threat to run as he ran for 118 yards and 18 carries with two touchdowns in the win against the Georgia Bulldogs two weeks ago. Joshua Dobbs completed 25 of 42 passes for 312 yards with three touchdowns and a pick against Georgia.

Tennessee Volunteers RB:

Jalen Hurd

Hurd has 126 carries for 572 yards with seven touchdowns. In the game at Florida Hurd ran for 102 yards and two touchdowns.

Tennessee Volunteers TE:

Ethan Wolf

The Volunteers sophomore tight end has made big plays in the passing game. Wolf has caught 15 passes for 213 yards and two touchdowns averaging 14.2 yards per reception.

Alabama Crimson Tide QB:

Jake Coker

Coker is hitting on 62% of his passes for 1376 yards with 11 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. He had a season low 138 passing yards last week at Texas A&M with no touchdown passes for the first time this season.

Alabama Crimson Tide RB:

Derrick Henry

The junior running back has 901 yards rushing on 152 carries with 12 touchdowns. Henry had a monster game in the win at Texas A&M with 32 carries for 236 yards with two touchdowns. He averaged 7 ½ yards per carry.

Alabama Crimson Tide WR:

Calvin Ridley

Ridley leads the Crimson Tide with 38 catches for 437 yards with three touchdowns. The freshman wide out caught seven balls for 52 yards at Texas A&M.
