Fantasy Draft MLB Hot Picks

June 28th 2016

Tuesday brings back the full lineup of Major League Baseball. With 15 matchup on tap beginning at 7PM EST time, it the perfect time to play Fantasy Draft MLB at FanPicks (click to play). All eyes will be on the Cleveleand Indians as they aim for their 11th straight win. Corey Kluber will take the mound for the tribe and he will face-off against Atlanta Braves Matt Wisler.

This season as been dwindled by top prospects making their debut, with the likes of Julio Urias, Blake Snell and Jameson Taillon entering the fold. Time to make room for the best MLB prospect Lukas Giolito who will start for the Washington Nationals. It will be a challenge against the New York Mets, as he will take on ace Matt Harvey. With so many stories in baseball tonight, let’s see who could steal the show in the hot picks of primetime fantasy baseball contests.

Top Pitchers

Top Pitchers

Corey Kluber threw a shutout in his last outing, his second of the year, and third complete game. He allowed three hits and two walks with nine strikeouts against the Tampa Bay Rays. Kluber is 3-1 in June and 5-2 in his last seven starts.

Cole Hamels has won three straight starts and is 3-0 with a 1.82 ERA in five June starts. He has quality starts in seven of his last eight outings.

In five of Adam Conley’s 15 starts, the left-hander has not allowed a run. One of those is his last outing, a win over the Atlanta Braves. It was a career-most eight innings game.

Michael Wacha snapped a 10-start winless streak his last time out, but has made three consecutive quality starts.

Top Hitters

Top Hitters

Kendrys Morales is hitting .444 (20-for-45) with four home runs and 15 RBIs over his last 12 starts.

Matt Wieters caught the second game of a double header Saturday and hit two homers, giving him nine on the season.

Jose Altuve extended his career-long on-base streak to 30 consecutive games with a third-inning single in Monday’s series opener at Angel Stadium. He’s the first Astros player to reach in 30 consecutive games since Willy Taveras a decade ago. It’s the longest active streak in the Majors.

Fantasy Baseball Sleepers

June 27th 2016

Another MLB weekend in the books. New matchups are set for Monday with ten games in primetime contests. Chicago Cubs Jake Arrieta and New York Mets Noah Syndergaard lead the class of today’s starters. With the daily expense of those two going up to $9,000, I’d look for the fantasy baseball sleepers to grab the spotlight at FanPicks (Click to play). Here is the list of Monday’s fantasy baseball top picks.

MLB Top PitchersTop Pitchers

Trevor Bauer is 2-0 with a 1.86 ERA in five June starts. He allowed one run in a complete game during his last outing, the second CG of his career. The tribe are aiming for their 10th straight win.

MLB Top Hitters

Top Hitters

Charlie Blackmon hit in all seven games last week, raking for a .424 (14-for-33) average, totaling three walks, five home runs and nine RBIs amid a white-hot stretch that included six multihit games. He received the National League’s Player of the Week honors.

Freddie Freeman went 3-for-3 with a solo homer, two runs scored, a walk and a double on Sunday against the Mets.

Mark Reynolds hit a walk-off two-run homer off Silvino Bracho, powering the Rockies past the D-backs, 9-7, on Sunday at Coors Field.

Matt Carpenter has reached base in 18 consecutive games.

Kendrys Morales went 2-for-4 with two solo homers in Sunday’s game vs. the Astros.

Jose Altuve’s fourth-inning single on Sunday pushed his streak of reaching base safely to 29 consecutive games, the longest current streak in baseball. That ties a career record for Altuve, who reached base in 29 games in a row Aug. 1-Sept. 1, 2015. Altuve has hit safely in 16 of his last 17 games in Anaheim, batting .388.

Aledmys Diaz went 3-for-5 with three doubles, an RBI, a run scored and a walk against the Mariners on Sunday.

Daily Baseball Fantasy League Primetime Top Picks

June 23rd 2016

Thursday’s nine game limited MLB schedule is always a challenge. It’s even more of a challenge when you have to cut that amount in half for Primetime only games. Got to find those deeper league players, and we’ve got your list right here. As usual, FanPicks baseball fantasy league primetime MLB contest (click to play) starts at 7PM EST time with 5 games on tap for player draft. Check out the who’s been hot over the past 10 games.

Top Pitchers

Top Pitchers

Jon Lester has earned wins in five straight starts. Last time out, he allowed a season-high 11 baserunners, but gave up only three runs in six innings to earn a win against the Pirates.

Zack Greinke has been on a roll winning each of his last seven starts with a 1.90 ERA over that stretch. In June, he is 4-0 with a 0.87 ERA. Greinke threw eight innings and allowed one run against the Phils his last time out.

Christian Friedrich has allowed one earned run in 19 road innings this year.

Top Hitters

Top Hitters

Wil Myers leads the Majors with nine home runs this month and is hitting .360/.419/.827. On the season, he’s hitting .290 with a team-high 16 dingers, while playing an elite defensive first base, as well.

Asdrubal Cabrera reached base three times and scored twice in Wednesday matchup against the Royals.

Marcell Ozuna ranks first among all National League outfielders in batting average (.321), home runs (15) and RBIs (43).

Zack Cozart is batting .284/.325/.513 with 11 homers and 30 RBIs in 62 games this season. He leads Cincinnati in hitting and with 18 doubles. He is also on pace for 25 homers, which would smash his career of 15.

Opposing pitchers have, indeed, paid a price against Matt Kemp this month. He’s hitting .370/.398/.519 in June, which includes a two-hit night in Wednesday’s 7-2 loss to the Orioles.

  • Royals catcher Salvador Perez enters Monday on an 11-game hitting streak. For his career, he is 1-for-4 with a walk against Mets Noah Syndergaard, counting the postseason.

  • A’s outfielder Khris Davis, who was removed from Saturday’s game with a minor left calf injury, is expected to return to the starting lineup Tuesday for the series opener against his former club, the Milwaukee Brewers.

Stay updated with last minutes MLB fantasy cash draft notables before play ball (click to play)!

Angels News

  • The Angels have had their fair share of injuries, but could have some help on the way for the series finale. Shortstop Andrelton Simmons, who was with Triple-A Salt Lake rehabbing his surgically repaired left thumb, flew to Anaheim on Tuesday to be reevaluated and could be activated from the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday. Simmons underwent surgery on May 10.

Blue Jays News

  • Blue Jays’ Edwin Encarnacion is expected to get the start at first base in Philadelphia, with Justin Smoak coming off the bench for the Blue Jays.

Brewers News

  • Brewers pitcher Jimmy Nelson has already hit seven batters this season. He led the Majors with 13 hit batsmen in 2015.

Cardinals News

  • St-Louis hurler Adam Wainwright’s lifetime 1.57 ERA against the Astros is the lowest among all MLB pitchers with at least 10 games started against Houston.
  • Cards third baseman Matt Carpenter extended his hitting streak to eight games Tuesday night.

Dodgers News

  • Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw, as great as he is, hasn’t been great in Chase Field. In 11 starts, he’s 4-7 with a 3.90 ERA, his highest in any National League road ballpark not named Coors Field.

Giants News

  • Giants first baseman Brandon Belt has reached base safely in 25 consecutive games at AT&T Park. He also has an eight-game hitting streak overall.
  • Right-hander Johnny Cueto will take his second attempt at becoming the Giants’ first 10-game winner this season against the Brew Crew.

Marlins News

  • Marlins’ outfielder Ichiro Suzuki is one hit away from tying Pete Rose’s hit record (4,256 career hits), including the hits he accrued in Japan.

Mets News

  • Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard, who will be making his second consecutive start against the Pirates, this time at home. He owns a 1.41 ERA over his last seven outings, which includes four wins, two no-decisions and one relief appearance. “Thor” is coming off a no-decision against Pittsburgh on Wednesday. In fact, he is winless in two career starts against the Pirates. Over 12 innings, Syndergaard is 0-1 with a 2.25 ERA. Both appearances came on the road at PNC Park.

Nationals News

  • Nats ace Stephen Strasburg eyes for an 11-0 record today, as he takes the mound against the Cubs. A win launches him into top spot for most victories this season, passing Chris Sale (playing today) and Jake Arrietta, both standing at 10 wins.

  • Tigers Victor Martinez remains day-to-day with right knee soreness.

White Sox News

  • In his past four starts, the usually dominant Chicago White Sox pitcher Chris Sale has a 6.75 ERA. Despite that, he looks to get his 11th win this season against the Tigers and takeover the MLB win lead from Stephen Strasburg (playing today) and Jake Arrieta.
  • The White Sox rested struggling third baseman Todd Frazier on Tuesday, it is unsure if he’ll play Wednesday.

Yankees News

  • Yanks pitcher Ivan Nova (5-3, 4.39), who will face the Rockies today,  has been excellent in his Interleague career, with an ERA of 2.13, including a 1.14 ERA in National League parks. In his only game against Colorado, however, he gave up four runs over six innings at Yankees Stadium in 2011.

MLB Fantasy Baseball Draft Notables

  • With Chicago Cubs Jorge Soler on the disabled list, rookie Albert Almora Jr. is likely to start in left field against Washington’s left-handed pitcher Gio Gonzalez. Known primarily for his defense, Almora has three hits in 10 at-bats since being called up earlier this month.
  • New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto is expected to return to the lineup Tuesday after sitting out Sunday due to wrist soreness.
  • By the time Jacob deGrom starts Tuesday’s series opener with the Pirates, the Mets’ right-hander will have had a week off between outings.
  • Detroit Tigers pitcher Jordan Zimmermann is 2-0 with a 1.83 ERA in three career starts against the White Sox.
  • It’s possible that Astros shortstop Carlos Correa will return Tuesday against the Cards. He was out of the lineup for all three games of Houston’s series against Tampa Bay after spraining his left ankle last Thursday against Texas.

Fantasy Draft Baseball Notables

  • You can expect Phillies first baseman Tommy Joseph to be back in the lineup. Ryan Howard started Tuesday and Wednesday, but Howard went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts Wednesday against the Cubs. Joseph has supplanted Howard as the team’s primary first baseman, hitting .311 (19-for-61) with two doubles, five home runs and eight RBIs in 19 games.
  • Rangers catcher Robinson Chirinos was activated from the 60-day disabled list Thursday. He had missed the past 53 games with a right forearm fracture.
  • Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre was not in the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Astros, and he was set to be re-evaluated after leaving Wednesday’s game with a tight left hamstring.
  • San Francisco catcher Buster Posey, who hasn’t played since Saturday in St. Louis due to nerve irritation in his right thumb, could be back behind the plate just in time for game 1 of the Dodgers/Giants 3 game series .

  • Houston Astros pitcher Colin McHugh will take the mound against the Texas Rangers. Since Aug. 1, 2014, only Jake Arrieta (35), Clayton Kershaw (32) and Zack Greinke (32) have won more games than McHugh (31).
  • The Pirates are scheduled to play five games in four days over approximately 78 hours against three teams. That stretch began with a doubleheader against the Mets on Tuesday and will end as the team returns to Pittsburgh for a three-game series with the Cardinals on Friday.
  • New York Yankees outfielder Carlos Beltran notched his third home run in as many days on Wednesday.
  • Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista is two home runs shy of No. 300 for his career.
  • Mets  plan to use the four-game series in Milwaukee as an opportunity to give four of his regulars a day of rest each. First up is slumping left fielder Michael Conforto, who will sit out Thursday against Jimmy Nelson.

MLB Baseball Fantasy Picks Notables

  • Chicago Cubs Albert Almora could see his first Major League start on Wednesday. The former first-round pick grounded out in his first at-bat, pinch-hitting for Kyle Hendricks in the sixth inning of Tuesday’s game. Almora was hitting .318 with 10 stolen bases in 54 games with Triple-A Iowa.
  • Detroit’s Justin Upton is slowly hitting his way out of a slump. He is riding a five-game hitting streak in which he is batting .400, with extra-base hits in his last three games.
  • Former Braves prospect Christian Bethancourt will likely serve as the Padres’ catcher in the series finale. Bethancourt has hit four homers in 64 at-bats and has been charged with three passed balls in 129 innings behind the plate.
  • In the first round of the 2010 MLB Draft, 36 spots separated Jameson Taillon and  Noah Syndergaard. The Pirates took Taillon No. 2 overall, and the Blue Jays drafted Syndergaard at No. 38 in the supplemental first round. Their paths have since diverged, but the former elite pitching prospects will clash Wednesday as the Pirates and Mets finish their series.
  • Twins left fielder Robbie Grossman, who doubled in his first at-bat and hit a game-ting homer on Tuesday, has now reached base safely in 16 of 17 games since joining the club on May 19. Grossman, who has slowly moved up in the batting order since then, batted second on Tuesday.
  • Mariners pitcher Taijuan Walker is making his fourth career start vs. Cleveland. He’s 3-0 with a 0.45 ERA against the Indians, having given up one earned run in 20 inning and striking out 20 batters.
  • Giants catcher Buster Posey is questionable for Wednesday’s game. He didn’t start Tuesday’s game with irritation in his right thumb.
