Boston Red Sox vs Detroit Tigers – 7-26-15 – MLB

Fantasy Baseball

The Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tiger will close out their weekend series on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball. MLB fantasy draft managers can follow the results of their rosters on Sunday July 26th at 8PM Eastern Time over ESPN TV.

Boston had hit the All Star break with some momentum as the club was playing good baseball. Following the break has been a major disappointment as the club broke an eight game losing streak on Friday in their 2-1 home victory to Detroit to open up this three game series. The Red Sox opened up play following the All Star break on the road as the club lost all seven games at the LA Angels and Houston Astros as the team struggled for run production. In that 0-7 road trip the Red Sox scored a total of 13 runs. It doesn’t help that the Boston pitching staff is 28th and near the bottom of the league in Team ERA at 4.46 this season.

Detroit following their loss on Friday is 3-5 since the All Star break to fall to 47-49 and 10 ½ games back of the first place Kansas City Royals. The Tigers rank near the bottom of MLB in Team ERA (4.34) and WHIP (1.35). Detroit still hits the ball very well to the delight of Fantasy Baseball cash league managers. Detroit is 3rd in runs scored per game (4.52) and best in the majors in team batting average (.278). There is some talk that the Tigers may look to move one of their hitters for some front line pitching help.

Detroit Tigers SS: Jose Iglesias is batting .323 with two homers and 19 RBIs. With a hit on Saturday he carries a six game hitting streak. Iglesias is batting .435 over his past seven days.
