Baltimore Orioles vs Detroit Tigers – 7-30-15 – MLB
It will be an AL showdown as the Baltimore Orioles will host the Detroit Tigers from Major League Baseball on Thursday July 30th. MLB fantasy draft managers can tune to MLB Network at 7PM Eastern Time to follow the results of their roster selections.
The Detroit Tigers will open up this four game road series after breaking a three game losing streak with their 2-1 road win at Tampa Bay on Wednesday afternoon. The team sits at 49-52 on the year and 13 games in the loss column back of first place Kansas City in the AL Central division. They are seven games back of Houston in the wild card race so the Tigers with a nice string of wins could get back into contention. The issue with Detroit has been their pitching this year. The team is 26th in two key areas which are Team ERA (4.41) and WHIP (1.36). The Tigers sit in the lower third of the league in quality starts this season. The positive news is Detroit is still amongst the elite in baseball offensively.
The Baltimore Orioles are five games back of Houston in the AL Wildcard race through Tuesday night’s games. They are seven games back of the New York Yankees for the top spot in the AL East division. After suffering through a four game losing streak the Orioles have won four straight behind good pitching following their 7-3 home win on Tuesday to Atlanta. The Orioles starting rotation have had their issues as the club sits 22nd in the league in quality starts at 46 on the season.
